I have been waking up every morning praying for this video.
I'm still working on my omnipresence
Awesome interview, Val, and thanks Hugo for all your hard work! Really digging the interface of Warhall and seeing it in action puts my mind as ease. The hold-shift feature is a life saver! Would love to see a tips & tricks video (or doc) for a faster Warhall experience featuring these kinds of features! Cheers fellas!
I was going to request this video after watching the last podcast episode--lo, and behold!
Wanna shout out how much I appreciate this Val: went out and finally got my first games in of Old World after convincing myself I *had* to finish painting all these damn knights for too long: and my first ever tounrament games! Signed up for the one beginning Monday!
Love watching you and Rob, I was in the fence for Warhall because of TTS clunkiness, but seeing how smooth warhall operates I will absolutely be utilizing this tool. Thank you very!!! #Square Blessed lol.
Thanks Val and Hugo a really informative & useful chat for another way to play the game.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This resource is AMAZING! There is so much online and user support for this game its crazy - wish we would get something like this for AOS to get those practice games in and test out lists
This is just absolutely fantastic. Thanks Hugo and Val!
Full screen Val deep doiving
Amazing! Great work, I am totally drilled to try this out with my friends with whom I played 20 Years ago Warhammer and now they are living far away 🙂
This is a very cool comment that I'm sure the Dev would really love.
Wonderful interview. Thank ya both! Ive been looking for a better way to actually play while trying to put my army together :)
Been a great tool to get friends to try out warhammer for the first time. Much easier to teach and learn in WH. Looking by forward to the beginner tournament!
Great to see a Val video for once.
The great Sueko :) The game is great, the community is friendly, its a great product.
had no idea this game existed so thank you for this excellent introduction to this.
Thank you HUGO!
You had me at "the files are in the computer"❤❤❤
Oh wow I fucked around with tabletop simulator aeons ago when it first came out and played a little bit of 40k there. I didn't know this existed for old world, I may have to look into this! very (square)based video! love you val!
Share around if you like!
@@SquareBasedOldWorld way ahead of you square commander
At TTS there are also mods for old world and age of sigmar!
This is an awesome video and I really appreciate all the old content. I also run a Ng & black orc, wyvern mangler list. Hey Rob, any chance to get a peek at your list? Thanks again love The content.
Great Video!
Thank you so much for this!
Tell your friends!
We are so lucky to have Sueko in the broader Warhammer Fantasy community and specially in the Spanish one
I've only met him on discord and we were fast friends.
What an incredible set of tools. Can't wait to strongarm some friends into giving this a shot.
Just gotta give 'em a taste. Once you play a game I think it sells itself.
Next stage would be the combination with AR-Products, that would be mind blowing!
See - TTS had a VR mode in it and I was so pumped to try it. But it was essentially abandoned at some point and I couldn't even map controls to it. But I agree - VR support would be so rad.
I’m playing Oldhammer on Tabletop Simulator, using 3rd edition Rules (Ouch!). We're using only painted miniatures from the 1980’s. TTS is pandering to my nostalgic retro needs! Now i’m hoping to use the same retro mini’s for The Old World rules on TTS.
I know it's not Warhammer The Old World ruleset, but I have really enjoyed playing SOVL. It's free on steam, has an AI 'player' and a little campaign mode. Def gonna check out Warhall though.
Could you help an out of touch CZcamsr learn what SOVL is?
@@SquareBasedOldWorld I was wondering the same thing. Searched 'sovl' in Steam and discovered that it seems to be an adaptation of WHFB, but I don't know for sure which edition(s) it is based on. It is only 2D, but it is free, so probably worth giving it a go.
@@SquareBasedOldWorld Yeah man - free steam game. It's basically Warhammer Fantasy Tabletop, full digital version... uses graphics similar to the old battle reports from 4th edition army books. D6 based, etc. There are some simplifications from the tabletop, but a fun experience, especially considering it's free (though I bought the cheap DLC to help the dev). It's rules can even be used on the tabletop. It doesn't replace warhammer or Warhall, but it's a fun, fast playing turn-based fantasy rank and flank game.
as i am still building and painting my Khemri army, i think this warhall sounds very interesting. Is there a possibility to enter warhall-games as a spectator or something like this? Learning the ToW rules is one of the biggest hurdles still left for me =)
Yeah absolutely. If you log in to Warhall itself you can spectate games, but you won't hear anything. Probably best to find a game in progress and hop into a discord channel to overhear the players. You can find games like that on our patreon discord, or also, via the Warhall discord that you can find here: discord.gg/4zStcR2qM4
I like the part where they play online!!
WE SHOULD PLAY ONLINE! Dude!
Are there keyboard shortcuts shown as overlay or a reference sheet on the site?
In the settings menus you can find a list of all the keyboard commands / mapping
I thought, how can he be MORE dishevelled, then you were right 😂 (just kidding) great interview, and thanks Hugo
When I'd originally scratched out my notes for that intro, I was clean shaven haha.
Very nice. Amazing really.
Thank you! Cheers!
Which software do we use to paint our digital armies?
I'm an MS Paint man through and through
Do the features work for other game systems in newrecruit as well? Such as fantasy v6/7
I believe Ninth age and Warhammer Armies Project are supported
Just need to pester Hugo to implement some pointless (but imersive) 3D dice rolling like tts or D&D Beyond has, then it will be feature complete!
But yeah looks awesome, very tempted to use that 25 percent off to pick up a year - seems like a great deal!
3d Dice rolling has come up a few times - I'll definitely pass it along!
It's now "on his list" ... though I've seen that comment many times so I can't imagine how big of a list this man has haha
@@SquareBasedOldWorld haha I'm sure he'll get to some more important features first but crossing my fingers 🤞
The FILES are IN the computer?!
SMASH!!
🤣😂😅😁
This Sim is amazing! i hope this feedback won't sound too negitive:
i feel this Sim is expensive... and even if i get PRO my friends might not, i think that a monthly Sub is a bit harsh...
it comes up to around 90Euro a year, where TTS is 20USD one time purchase.
i would probably buy this product at the price point of TTS... or even a yearly sub for that price point... but tbh, atm i love it, but its over my price range.
our promo code helps a little bit? 25% off? Check the description!
Also FWIW the loss of "pro features" still leaves you with a platform that is better for playing Old World and is entirely free. So enjoy those thirty days, use the promo code, or not - and still better than TTS : )
Thank you
No, thank YOU!
Oh this is great. TableTop simulator still feels really finicky to me so I might try this as a solution
If you've tried TTS then this is gonna do a better job of scratching that itch for sure.
When you separate skirmish unit model by model , how you can put them in a unit?;)
I think you just hover them back over the unit? Maybe once they're fully separate this doesn't work anymore. My thinking is you could also just respawn the unit in ranked formation (create tab) and delete the skirmished version.
Skirmish like it is in tOW didn't exist in 8th ed Fantasy / 9th Age... so they're currently building proper skirmish mechanics for the platform. Someday soon this won't be an issue.
@@SquareBasedOldWorld yes, thx a lot! Anyway warhall is amazing!!:)
Very nice, but somehow lance formation is missing
THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
really really cool...
I think so too!
Saludos a sueko aka Hugo 🎉
Whatva coincidence, i was trying to set up a virtual game last night, but on the table top simulator
Give this a shot! If you don't pay for the sub you basically wind up with the equivalent of a free tts that isn't nearly as frustrating.
Hoping this video helps me get my friends off TTS
Friends don't let friends use TTS
Brilliant video, though you kept cutting him off at the end
Fullscreen-Val makes me feel so weirdly warm. He suddenly feel so... grown up
This is my youtube quinceañera
Btw, when is it you start posting handheld battle reports with you and Rob?!
I've been batting around the concept of doing some live streams from my home table... but not much past the "maybe I'll do that" phase.
I really hope you do it - I think it could be so much fun!
Seems that all key features are behind a paywall :( cannot import army, cannot check rules, cannot see unit stats with the free version.
Sounds like the free version is still no worse than TTS or like.... playing irl
I mean, I don't see why we shouldn't pay the man given how much work has gone in. Man has to eat
Warhall is great. I just don’t was to pay the monthly price for it. TTS isn’t as good yes, but for the one time price it is such a better deal than warhall.
Very fair
Wish they’d make a Mac client
You look like the guy thats on the corner of my road every morning with a cardboard sign
When it comes to Warhall - I am literally that guy.
I think TTS is better for fun games with friends - there's something about the physical dice, etc that makes it more immersive - but for learning to play or competitive matches, warhall is superior.
Honestly TTS does the trick once you get through the learning curve. I was just super impressed at how quick and easy warhall is to pickup... I never had the patience to get really comfortable in TTS for Fantasy or 40K
Tournaments should be played in digital…
Ones on Warhall definitely will be ; )
It seems they ruined it by making a core feature blocked by money. upset >:(
gonna say i'd rather stick to TTS because i don't want to sub
FWIW - the free version just loses the integration with new recruit. So you can just deploy your army yourself and keep your rules open in another window and everything else works great. To me, that's still better than what I was experiencing on TTS. But you might have already invested enough time to get through the learning curve. End of the day - the important thing is that we're building communities any way we can.
