About the Director(s):
Brendan is a Colorado native, but has called Los Angeles home since 2009. He is a working commercial director specializing in performance heavy, cinematic and stylized comedy, dark comedy and horror. Narrative remains his main creative passion so he shoots short films in between commercial gigs.
He's making a concerted effort to transition into film/TV so he is currently pitching several feature screenplays that he also plans on directing. "THE LOOKOUT", his most recent screenplay, is a tense and contained horror thriller taking place In the shadow of a looming nuclear threat. A disenfranchised young woman attempts to escape modern society by taking a job at a remote fire lookout tower. In her newfound solitude, chilling events force her to question her own sanity and reality itself. See a teaser for the script here - vimeo.com/357413743
Brendan currently lives in Santa Monica with his newborn son (and future horror fan), wife and dog. When he's not directing, he can be found beating the drums or scrambling around the mountains and deserts of California.

This writer obviously understands the depth & darkness of a creative soul, the compulsion to create their art no matter the sacrifice, even personal well being, like nothing else mattered but their creations. So many of the 'greats' led a life of suffering & poverty, selling their souls.
Note to self : Never buy a weird sculpture from a yard sale...
And boxes too. Never buy any weird boxes in yard sales... 😁 Just watched "dice" these both films are similar.
Sleep paralysis is scary AF if anyone here has experienced it you know exactly what i mean, it's just like how the actor portrayed it, it's like your conscious but are completely paralyzed, feel like you can't breath thinking something is coming for you, it's absolutely terrifying to put it lightly, you try with all your might to move a leg, move anything but can't until slowly your able to move and i mean sloooooowly, and then you snap out of it right when you think your going to die, hasn't happened to me in years and hope it doesn't happen again any time soon, especially after watching this.
Had it a lot more when i was younger. Last time was 2 years ago. After it happens more Times you slowly get used to it. Its still terrifying.
Oh goodness i woke up and i put all my effort in to try and talk and move but only your eyes are moving..my finger begins to move slightly as though my whole body is paralized..horrible to go through..after 2mins of this i slowly started moving more and more..the first time it happened to me i was scared shitless
i head a trick some time ago that's always worked for me. when in sleep paralysis the only thing you can almost for certain control is your breathing. if you begin breathing very rapidly or hold your breath or anything like that there's a good chance your body will wake up fully. it's always worked for me so i hope it'll work for other people as well
I don't know if I had that or a night terror but it happened twice when I was a little child. It was terrifying both times. One time I saw what I thought was my father watching me at my door. And the second was I was stuck under the covers like they were glued shut.
@@myishenhaines1662 that's freaky, but yeah it's absolutely terrifying, it hasn't happened to me lately, thank God..
Omg the nail!!!!!!!!!! Ok so heres my take and this is based on true stories. Be cautious when you buy strange objects from foreign countries be it a statue an ornament or vintage paintings etc. Be cautious that's all I'm saying . Because stranger things have happened.
Screamfest & chill time

10:58 it's _standing_ to the right, looking at him, before later making itself known.
Ah, the price of fame, but that's what sequels continue to bring, eh?
You caught it! Good job, a lot of people seem to miss that somehow. (I directed this)
Finally a REAL film on this channel!!! Such a difference in quality, practically in every aspect.
Thanks for bringing this film to youtube.
I saw this when it first came out. Damn, it was even better during the second viewing.
This is a great piece of work. Zachary Ray Sherman knocked it outta the park (the entire cast killed it too). He reminds me of a young Willem Dafoe
We premiered this short in our live festival in October 2020.
This thing is literally feeding off of his body wow. But greed always seems to win.
The special effects were very impressive.
Now that's good right there
Great, eerie, creepy, film and desperation is its own disease...visually, the film was so dark in parts, that it was hard to make out on a small screen.
This is some real talent! I watch a lot of horror and horror shorts and most are not that great or they are too cheesy, but I thought this was rather well made! I was captivated!
Seems so real. I forgot where I was for a minute. I dnt get things tht suck me in tht often. Real talent displayed Screamfest.
Woah, this was scary! Well done!
That scene with the chest looked real bravo.
i was thinking the same. Great special effects!!
@@eaglevision9791 this channel is better than alot of movies that "claim"to be horror films.
@@cockatootledo Oh, i totally agree with that!! My least favorite is: ALTER.
Screamfest seems to have the better storylines.
Edit: But I’ve said before, that Hollywood absolutely struggles, to make decent horror movies. It seems like one or two, at the most, may come from Hollywood every ten years or so.
Thanks! My talented makeup artist friend Koji Ohmura created that for me. It was important to me that we did the gore in-camera in one shot as opposed to relying on computer fx or extreme closeup cutaway shots. Glad you liked it :)
@@cockatootledo I directed and produced this movie
As writer... I feel represented... :_D
Feed your Muse???,
Its just me or
It seems like that creature have life absorb ability???😱😳
A muse possess any artist, although not usually to the cost of their life.
Oh goodness i woke up and i put all my effort in to try and talk and move but only your eyes are moving..my finger begins to move slightly as though my whole body is paralized..horrible to go through..after 2mins of this i slowly started moving more and more. Wonderfully done. Good, intelligence, and creepy.
There is nothing more to say that has not already been said. Excellent all round.
Yay!!! Thanks so much Scream fest!!!! Love your channel cuz you have awesome content!! Have a good weekend!!!👻👹📹👻
Thanks for watching!! Have a great weekend!
No complaints from this horror fanatic.
👏👏
Me and my daughter were glued to this movie!! Seriously epic work! I'm glad you exist 😊
Wow, thank you!
@@screamfestlawas is this movie really about?
This ain’t your Greek Muse - this a Muse from Hell. There’s always a price to pay when agreeing to the Devil’s terms.
So true!!
Right, though I don't know if the classical Greeks once had the same God/Evil discrepancy as our today's Christian-based Western civilisation...
Glad to see this on this channel.
Thanks!! We premiered it in our live film festival in October 2020. Guess it went online elsewhere before our channel uploaded it.
Amazing!! Just freaking amazing!! I don't know what I would do without my Screamfest!!!
OMG, the classic, you lie in bed and a monster comes 😱
Ugh!! The nail bit at the end made me cringe😖. I can't handle nails doing that shit😱. I'll take writer's block over that demonic statue any day.
The demon was creepy and the overall atmosphere was suspenseful. Another horror short done well👌🏻.
@Screamfest THAT was AWESOME!!👏👏👏 VERY WELL. DONE❣️Stephen King would LOVE it! 🥰
PLEASE Stay 'safe', everyone❣️ Blessed be🌜
Why do these people never offer... offerings? Meat, honey, milk... anything.
I see what you did there.
This could easily be one of the shorts in a movie like Creepshow. My only critique, although I realize you’re trying to obscure the view of the creature, is it’s a bit too hard to see. It’s a wonderful short! I’ll bet Stephen King would like this one.
Dude took his vitamins and reminded me i needed to take my meds. Oh and great film by the way! 😉
😂❤️
My nail was in pain badly 😭😭😭😭😭
Wow this was one of a kind...I have watched so many short horrors...this is unique amazing and a really great horror...really let's talk sequels...plz make another film... a next episode for this one❤❤❤
First time there was a film about sleep paralysis and it was shown very good. I had a sleep paralysis when my old mattress became uncomfortable to lie on and for a couple of weeks i was experiencing that and it was so realistic, scary and i thought that my room became haunted or something. That feeling when you see and hear things but you can't move is the worst.
😱😱😱
This short horror is an exploratory horror work.
We all hope for the elusive inspiration and sometime we find it. But what if that inspiration somehow became all consuming. Then wexcould be in trouble. This work explores that quite well.
It reminded me of Neil Gaman's Sandman # 17 called Calliope especially in regards to unhealthy muses and abusing said muse for gain.
I enjoyed the acting and the muse is the stuff of nightmares and is fascinating how farther lead is willing to go.
Great work and nice job to all involved.
Peace
Awesome.....just awesome! Damn good film.
Really glad you liked it!!
AWESOMENESS TO WHOLE NEW LEVEL. SCREAMFEST YOU GUYS THE BEST STILL 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Great work , Man i would love to see this guy write a whole series of novels as his interesting old yard sale find is still quite hungry for more.
That would be cool!!
That was very good by the way
YES! Let's talk sequels! That was awesome!
What does it means plz tell me i didn't got the point
Wow I am super late Screamfest the best another classic hits this one was epic it had a touch of everything suspends creepiness another great video formerly done by the legendary Screamfest the best😃🙏👊😃

Me encantó !!! Un film de Terror puro , alucinante , de miedo 😰😱 muy bueno !! Gracias Screamfest por compartir obras de calidad 💙💙💙 Regalame un ❤️ amigo !!! Woow 🤭🙄
good one.... build up is great
I admire his passion.
Thanks for watching!
Idk where or when but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this before...
All I can say is 👌🏿👍🏿 whoahhhhh
I want a sequel tOo!
It can be a scary thing when it happens but if you can convince yourself every time that what you are seeing isn't real and therefore can't hurt you every encounter just becomes a minor nuisance
🤔🤔
That proboscis scene
great acting
" " you're the best thing that ever happenee to me Tom!" She said
Heavy silence permeates the tiny car. Brad gets out slams the door. He starts speed walking away. Jill gets out of the car and follows him. It was at that moment she knew that it was too late. Her old tricks wouldn't make the memories of that awful body odor go away no matter how much time she invested in it. "😢
Interestingly, from my very small knowledge classical Greeks seem to have strongly linked wind, breath, and soul...
.
Anyway, quite impressive film, thank you !
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
