- On June 10th 1987 the world lost a beautiful & gentle soul in actress Elizabeth Hartman.Although she is rarely recognized by Hollywood as one of the elite movie stars her true fans around the world knew how gifted Miss Hartman was. She was one of a kind. She had the ability to make you feel every emotion of the character she was playing.A rare talent to find these days. Here is yet another video paying tribute to the woman who affects so many of us in ways we can't explain.

What an underrated talent this girl was. I agree with keeping her memory alive. She simply deserves it.
They both should have won an oscar for this portrayal of the movie, I watch this every time it is on.
No one could have played this part like elizabeth hartman, Teaming up with Sidney Portier Such a fine gentleman with class, He broke the color barrier, I say he is 1of The top 10 best actors ever in Hollywood.. The innocence of elizabeth hartman, And the mentoring of Sidney Portier Just made this movie spectacular I watch it every time it is on. She will always be young Forever.
I was 14 years old in 1965 when I saw Elizabeth in "A Patch of Blue." I'm 69 years old at this writing (11-22-2020) and I've been in love with her all this time. She was so great.
She could show fragility like no one else. She wasn't acting - she was being.
My Friend Donald also lived in the King Edward. He remembers that his mother came to visit, and while she was there, there was a commotion in the courtyard with police and an ambulance. He later found that a woman had jumped off of the roof. It was Elizabeth. What a great actress she was. A Patch of Blue, The Group, and in particular The Beguiled.

I just discovered Elizabeth Hartman a few days ago. I saw A Patch of Blue on t.v. I thought she was amazing. I will definitely try and watch her other movies. Sad to read what happened to her.
It was a fantastic movie. Another great one she was in is called 'The Beguiled', with Clint Eastwood. It's set during the Civil War, and it's pretty dark and intense.
I have since seen all but one of her movies(walking tall). Ms.Hartman was a fantastic actress. Wish there was more of her to watch.

She had this beautiful innocence about her that literally lit up the screen. Very sad that she experienced such inner turmoil and more than likely, kept most of it to herself. Some people hide it better than others.

The movie she played And with Sidney Portier Was fabulous , Those two were a very cap captivating couple. I wish they would have left together. But Sidney Portier , Always had so much class. It would have ruined his repstation as the perfect gentleman.

She suffered terribly from depression and paranoia. On June 10, 1987 she committed suicide in Pittsburgh, Pa. She jumped from her 5th floor apartment window.
I just found out a couple of days ago that Elizabeth is no longer with us.😢😞 she was such a wonderful actress. A patch of blue is definitely one of my favorite movies. Are there any videos about her that are not visual?
Very painful to watch. I wish that I could have made her happy given the chance.
I would have liked to have known her. Crack a joke and make her smile - tell her that she was loved. I truly felt sorry for her.
