      Tatoo's are cringe. Ppl get tattoos to be different and actually think they stand out lol... Sticking it to the "system" when in reality they have been brainwashed to accept the tattoo mainstream. They destroy their bodies with tattoos, everything against what is right. Most if not all, regret the tattoos anyway. Societies pressure & hanging with the wrong crowd encourages bad behavior to stand out and try and be unique. The difference is, they aren't unique, they are all the same. No tattoo's is the class, and the way to go. Those that get it, understand, those that don't, well, they are clearly still lost in the system that has them down

      @@jenniferw4157 or… or… we get them because we like them. It ain’t that deep. You tried to write a whole dissertation on this and make it a “one size fits all” thing when it’s really not. It can literally be as simple as we like them, they make us feel good. If we regret them later, that’s our problem and not yours. Minding your own business would work well here. If you don’t get tattoos, that’s great. If people that want/have tattoos get one, that’s their choice and that’s also great. Being on a high horse because you’re tattooed or you’re never getting tattooed is on the exact same level of cringe to most of the population.

I'd much rather keep my canvas blank and add paint, or henna, if I do want to "adorn" my skin. I truly don’t understand the hate against tattoos. I suppose it depends on the specific tattoos If you are judging someone’s ability to make good choices etc. but I am 24 now, and I told myself that I would wait until 25 to get tattoos. (I wanted tattoos and was extremely interested and intrigued by them since 15)
    I see well done tattoos as amazing art that can enhance someone’s look. I’ve always loved how they look on men and on women. It makes me feel this person is more of a free spirit, more artistic, and I just feel so drawn to having them on me as well.
    I’ve been saving artists and planning them for the last few years. I think you should consider style, color/black and grey, placement etc and choose things you either find beautiful or meaningful personally (not relating to partners etc that can be fleeting.)

      People are insecure and hate anything against the norm. We live in a very shallow world full of sheep that feel entitled to treat you poorly because the group masses have a unwritten law that they can treat you bad because you want to be yourself and express yourself how you want. The judgments and narrow mindedness is off the charts. I see having tattoos alot. It's hard to find someone that isn't. My opinion is they think they need one to fit in, be trendy or they possibly have low self esteem. Alot of people also regret getting something permanent like a tattoo. Here's one way to think about this. Since people hate labels so much and yet people still go to the effort to physically and permanently label themselves? Not to mention how expensive it is.
    Here's an idea, instead of tattooing yourself how about you commission an artist or tattooist to create a piece of art you can put somewhere. If you get tired of it you can resell it possibly for a profit. Can't do that with a tattoo!

  • @Christopher26021994
    @Christopher26021994 Před rokem +2

    I don't have tattoos, any of them. I do have an idea for a tattoo for myself (and that would be a really big tattoo for my left chest and arm), however, it is just a plain idea, I don't feel literally any need of having it. There are also three other things that definitely stop me from getting it and the experience that made me sure I don't want to have one.
    -It feels scary to me, that I'll have something permanently on my skin, that I couldn't get rid of. It is some kind of a feeling that gives me very uncomfortable vibes. So uncomfortable that I'm sure there is no discussion about me getting a tattoo unless there would be some technology, that would allow to "turn it off" haha.
    -This one is probably weird, I have never heard anything like that from anyone but - it makes me feel VERY uncomfortable, to think about that my tattoo would make me recognizable in certain way. I do value very much a possibility of being much more anonymous if I prefer to, by not having any tattoos that could draw unnecessary attention whole time. If I'd want to get more attention, I can regulate it better trough clothing or car I'm driving, but if I want to just calmly live my life, I am able to be a "grey man". Tattoo in a visible place makes it much more difficult, sometimes probably impossible.
    -I haven't found so far any actual, science-proven benefits of having a tattoo, which makes them appear kind of pointless and worthless to me in term of owning one. It doesn't make sense to me to I have one from a purely rational and scientific point of view.
    -Last but not least, I did have a dream about having a quite fresh, VERY WELL MADE tattoo on the inner side of my left forearm. It was seriously well made tattoo. I was looking at it and I started to have thoughts "Do I really need it? Did I actually want to have it...". More and more questions where appearing in my thoughts in that dream and the feeling of regret was rising faster and faster, till the point where I've woke up kind of scared and immediately looked at my forearm. The relief I had seeing it without that tattoo was so good, that I've understood clearly, it is not a thing for me.
    I want to add, that I do respect tattoos and people with them, I am able to appreciate their aesthetics and quality if it is on a high level and the topic itself is very interesting. It takes tons of skill and experience to be top-level tattoo artist for sure, I also like certain types of tattoos on people and I'm not afraid to compliment them if I find it the right thing to do. It is just not a thing for me, but if someone likes it, up to them. I will be most likely either neutral or positive about it.

    Yeah I still don't understand why people get tattoos. It's weird because it's like, people get tattoos to express a specific part of themselves, an interest, loved ones, etc. It's almost like advertising a part of your life so if a stranger comes up to you, they can ask about your tattoo and that's an easy in for you to talk about yourself and get them to know you and build a relationship together as friends. But on your body. People wear band shirts for this same reason, it's advertising and interest so a stranger on the street who also likes that band may cone up to you to talk about it and you strike a friendship. But you take off that t-shirt, you don't wear it all the time like tattoos. It's strange to me someone would get for example a Marvel Endgame tatoo. Like they put this "talking point" on their bodies, forever. Forever garnering questions and comments about it. It becomes a part of your life, permanently. A t-shirt advertising Marvel you take off, it doesn't become a part of your life. I could go on about other tattoos designs express an aesthetic or desired to be connected to certain qualities like "edgy" or "outdoorsy" etc but this comment is already too long.

      @Someguy136 I agree. I will say, the one type of tattoo I really respect though now that I think of it, are memorial ones. It's a wonderful way to keep their memory alive by not only keeping them in your thoughts so you may talk about them more with others, it can be a talking point and way of bringing them up in a way to new people instead of a less-organic more difficult way. It might not be the most healthy way to cope but I do respect those with tattoos like that.

    In a free country we should be able to confidently and courageously express ourselves with our natural forms of expression. I like and believe in so many things that my visible body couldn't possibly reflect them all. I've also been known to change my mind which is easier than editing my body art! To me it's a form of rebellion against conformity. I've known too many people that regret what they did to their bodies when they were young.

      Not to be rude, but I kind of disagree. I feel people today just get tattoos to look cool or just because. Like it's a necessity. A lot of people I know have tattoos. Of course, it's none of my business, but thats how I feel. Even I wanted a tattoo at some point because I thought it would be cool if I got one

    I think the whole thing has to be some kind of signaling mechanism that you are "in the know" or "of the street" or "down to earth". To me it definitely has some dark associations to "being tainted", "marked", "not pure" and also I think it signals a "loss of innocence". It also has connotations of being working class or of low culture. Also, just because a lawyer gets a tattoo doesn't mean he doesn't have an uncultured mentality or a working class background. In this case this would be a kind of nostalgic "remember where you come from" spiel. Because it's related to the working class, it's also usually more likely in left wing circles who want to signal that they are "working class".

      That was a very long winded way of saying that you’re a classist individual with superficial values on an individual’s predisposition to art and their idea of how they should portray themselves. If you’re going to label lawyers, scientists, doctors, business executives etc and working class because they have tattoos then you may want to have stronger premise.

    • @thornspitfire3977
      @thornspitfire3977 Před 2 lety +4

      @@DTGMRunsThere's a difference between being classist, and acknowledging people belong to classes. The first thinks your class is all that you are, while the second merely realises that you belong to a class. I don't discriminate based on class, but I realize classes exist. Denying it would be foolish instead. But I do appreciate you assumption that I'm a bad person. I probably am :)
      I'd say the superficial ones are people who put tattoos on themselves instead of acquiring the character they advertise. There's a difference between telling people who you are, and embodying what you are. The latter group has no need of tattoos. At the same time the tricky thing about tattoos that even after you have no need of them, you will still have them. Many people continue to get new tattoos as an update of their mentality. Maybe I just never found a good enough thing ot tattoo myself for my whole life. I represent myself anyways, felt no need to make additional ways of expression on my skin.

    I get tattoos for me and myself only. Permanent marks of a message, or a part of me and myself.
    Of course I think they’re pretty, I’m also an artistic person. If I get a tattoo it is because it has a signification, a story, an emotion; it’s an expression of oneself.
    What I do with my body is mine only and not anyone else’s business.
    I don’t want big tattoos, I just want small ones, dainty and delicate ones because they represent myself.
    I’m not a loud person
    I don’t like the attention
    I love nature and plants and flowers
    So that’s what they are for me
    But for some others it’s to express their inner, bigger self. They have a lot to express; they want to share it but not scream it. And it’s great too
    Any tattoo that makes you feel happy and more like yourself is good and it’s not anyone else’s opinion.
    If you want one, get it not because it’s a trend but because YOU want it.

    PPS: also in the video sound like you're saying ALL the reasons why people get tatoos are cause they're insecure but it also seems that you want purposely to disfigure that into not seeming so. "people get tatoos cause they want to express themself and to show they're unique"...oh you mean they want OTHERS (else they had got that drawing in a personal diary or shit like that) to think about them something they think others will never think about them unless they signal it to them with a tatoo? Or you mean they are insecure and obsessed by this "beig unique" thing ad they MUST demostrate that to others (if they only ad i mind what THEY thik about themself why get a tatoo everyone can see? that's simply dumb to think) by havig a drawing onto them? Do you see my point?
