    this movie was shot on film! thats why the camera looks like that- digital cameras are far more common and cheaper to use for feature films like this especially now- but film cameras combined with particular character filled lenses give it that home movie, imperfect feel 💜

    • @TessBre
      @TessBre Před rokem +11

      @@amylomo9793 it 100% always depends on the lenses you choose! some anamorphic lenses are more high contrast and some arent, if u go vintage glass it's going to look more vintage. BUT all anamorphics will effect the bokeh turning them more oval instead of circular, with film- i'd wager the bokeh would become softer and so would the rest of the image. if u want to see anamorphic lenses combined with film, i'd check out blade runner 1982 - it might answer your questions 😄

    The fact that you didn’t name one Mary Kate and Ashley movie as the best summer movies in a foreign country makes me sad for Gen Z’s childhood entertainment. MK&A movies were a staple of my personality development in the late 90’s/early 00’s

    9:07 Bring back grainy cameras! You actually hit spot on why I also don't like a lot of movies now too. i think that's why the recent Disenchanted movie felt so out of place because it didn't feel like it was the same universe as Enchanted. It was way too HD.

    I have a very vivid memory of buying this movie out of the Walmart dvd bin and watching it with my mom, something we did almost every Friday. I loved it and hold it dear!

    I'm a film school graduate so im arguably pretentious but i genuinely miss when shit was on actual film. something about the dustiness of it all makes it feel more real i cant explain it.

      As someone who knows nothing, I think it adds to the atmosphere of it being fictional plus helps the suspension of disbelief and all that. So you’re not thinking the whole time about how it’s all so unrealistic

    Cory was definitly filming S2, it came out in July 2011 (between s2 and 3), so they filmed either early 2011 or end of 2010 which would be S2
