This generation is knocking on the door of the 1960's & early to mid 1970's...Lets so everything we can to support and encourage them, there has to some magic left, this a very large universe and the possibilities are boundless...I just listened to Hozier, a young Irish player who reminds me of Van Morison in his younger days a bit, and quite frankly, I appreciate what I'm seeing and listening to...Right On Allen & Hozier, and Birdy for all that matter...keep on track...you are loved and I'm 64 its refreshing...

I hope people (especially the younger generation) realise that there is more to music than just Lady Gag(a), One Direction and Rihanna; that there are things more powerful than money-making Pop, that there is REAL music, doing what music was invented for in the first place: express emotions. Allen is the diamond of real music at present. Let's hope more and more people will follow.
I definitely agree with you in general but one can not say anything wrong about Beyonce. The way she sings, the vocal control she has and the fact that she just does not miss a tone "ever" makes her 1 of a kind. Btw she is a really nice person donating millions to the poverty stricken groups.

Kees Kameel It's not that pop isn't real music, it's just the McDonald's of music. Music, much like food or wine, is an acquired taste. This takes years to develop. This is most likely why teens listen to shitty pop music. They know no different. If you had only ever eaten a McDonald's hamburgers in your life, you'd most likely think they were the greatest hamburgers ever made mainly because you have no basis of comparison.

I don't know what I expected but it was not this. Sweet mother of Mary this guy can belt it out. This is what's missing in much of today's music. Talent and a genuine capacity to tell a beautiful story. No one sings of love and longing anymore at least not like this guy. Once again Mahogany Sessions have upped the bar of what I now consider music. Thanks seems somehow wholly inadequate.

It's been the coldest February in decades where I live. But when I hear his voice, my guts and heart are fully enveloped by the warmth and soul of this thing called music that has been somehow forgotten ever since Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga were called upon to lead this generation of musicians. All the while musicians like this don't even receive a fraction of the recognition they deserve. I don't know if it's love, but it sure is great music!
