I just want to take a moment to thank you for making and sharing this video. I don't know that I ever would have figured out the airbag retention clips without somebody pointing me in the right direction. With your help, removing my steering wheel today was a snap.
I Just fitted my RS7 wheel today (onto my A7). Was way easier than I expected and cost £10 in tools. All buttons and paddle gears work as normal. If anyone in the UK needs one removing/fitting then give me a shout 🤙 Cheers for the vid!!
@@andyb47156 hi Andy, I had to buy a new airbag as the original A7 airbag is not compatible with the S7/RS7 flat bottom steering wheel airbag. There was some slight modification that I had to make to the airbag loom for it to fit into the vehicle loom but it was very straight forward. Hope that this helps.
@@adnanalizae7836 sorry to hear this pal. Is your airbag seated correctly? Should be a small gap in between the airbag with spring tension. If it is then maybe check your horn fuse as it may have gone. Apart from that I’m not really sure pal.
@@topG243 I first would turn the car on fully, turn the steering wheel to the side where you can feel the opening. Once you've done that, shut the car entirely off, disconnect the negative terminal from the battery, and now you can safely start removing the airbag. You have the capability to turn the steering wheel left and right even with the battery disconnected. I've already done this a few time, and it gets easier every time. The reason why I disconnect the battery because there's potential for the airbag to deploy. I don't want to take that risk, but if others remove the airbag with the battery connected, that's on them.

I seen over 50 vids and this is the best most direct to the point vid I have seen, GREAT job ! , Now I know hot to do it .... Thanks
Hi, a good video including a view of the clips! Any help on removing the actual cover off the air bag? I need to replace mine !
Great tutorial. Doing this myself this weekend. Do you have the proper torque specs for resintalling the t55 bolt?
Great video!!! Thank you so much!
Just took some info here and i managed to take the airbag out from the steering...thanx man...this A5 has get out of here lol
This video is very good, thanks you.
Good demonstration
Torque wrenches are not to be used to break bolts loose.
Thanks worked like a charm
The video is so clear thank so Professional
But how do they love the steer without the Keys?
Isn’t it a 12mm triple square bolt and not a t55?
My 2011 A5 doesnt have this clip but does have a torque bit to which I removed it and still cant get airbag off
Thank you brother, I neaded this :)
Nice this is made in Romania :)
Did you disable battery first?
Bro where and how did you installed that phone holder???
does it give any errors/faults while removing it like this? thank you!
is it dangerous to upgrade to new one?

Hi Dan, did you need to put in a new airbag or use your original A7 one? Cheers

Don’t forget to disconnect the battery before working on any airbag related parts of the car...
Thank you William; I was wondering about Safety Precautions prior to attempting this.
Worked great except now my airbag light is on. Only swapped steering wheel.
Did you have to disconnect the battery before removing the airbag? thank you
Anto K I didn't
@John Willenborg Can you turn the steering wheel after unclipping one side when the ignition is off?
If you leave the door open, yes.
if6was929 but then the alarm goes off
my horn stop working after replacing airbag help me
You can just turn the steering wheel when the car is off?!
If you leave the door open, yes.
To the point!
Is the steering wheel from ROMANIA?!?😊
Dont you have to disconnect the battery before removing the airbag?
Yeah was thinking the same? Anybody knows?
No, you dont.
You should, negative terminal. There’s a good chance the airbag will deploy.
@@elbyno7904 disconnect once both clips or off?
