- The Nested IF function in Excel is used to evaluate multiple conditions and return different values based on those conditions. It’s essentially a series of IF statements placed inside one another, allowing for more complex decision-making processes.
Here’s the basic syntax for a Nested IF function:
=IF(condition1, value_if_true1, IF(condition2, value_if_true2, value_if_false2))
In this structure, condition2 is only evaluated if condition1 is false. You can nest up to 64 IF functions in Excel to handle multiple conditions.
