  • Big Tractor Power is out in an Eastern Illinois field with two big tractors. Spring field work is underway with a 410 hp Caterpillar CHALLENGER 95E tractor with a 45ft Case IH 330 Tru-Tandem Turbo working on soil preparation ahead of soybean seeding. Working just across the road from the Caterpillar tractor is a 500 hp Case IH 500 Quadtrac tractor applying anhydrous ammonia as a nitrogen fertilizer source for corn with a 47ft DMI 5300 Nutri Applicator.

In 1999 I was 13 years old and a contractor using a CAT 95E was ploughing my uncle's fields ... I had the opportunity to run the 95E myself for many days ... It was a huge privilege and upgrade for me as I was running a Ford 9600 before that ... Memories 😀👍

As always a great video. I really enjoy watching big high hp tractors doing tillage. Especially in tough conditions when the tractor really has to work hard
I don’t wish those conditions on any farmer ever but those conditions unfortunately happen and when they do I enjoy the high hp big tractors having to really grunt and work hard!!

I don't have a farm myself, but the farms and contractors i know uses New Holland, Fendt, Valtra, Kverneland and Väderstad tractors and equipment to work the soil. I know Väderstad owns Seed Hawk, and is a Swedish brand, while Kverneland is a Danish brand owned by Kubota. One farmer i know even uses Överum equipment. Överum got aquired by New Holland some years ago, so New Holland does now have a factory in Sweden, where i live.

He kept the 2 55's and 35's sold of 2 of the 3 mt's he use to run. (1 MT 865 and 1 MT 755). He moved away from crops to cattle but still have about 410ha till ground that he plants maize an soja. @bigtractorpower I don't think the boss will ever get rid of the 9630. 08 model with around 5800 hrs. It's kinda our backup big tractor. Some digging in the spring then on the roller. It doesn't do a whole lot in the fall unless tillage gets behind. The 2 rx's take care of fall work. We have 2 9870's that's been good combines and he finally broke down and traded the oldest one for a 690. Hard to get rid of something that's worked and we've had little issues with.

The flat track CATs are harder to find these days. This farmer runs modern Case IH tractors for the most part and a few John Deere Soundgards. He grew up liking the early Challengers and jumped the chance to add this 95E as a tillage machine.
