- Leo (Lev) Tolstoy, author of classics such as "War and Peace" and "Anna Karenina", is not considered as an existentialist writer. In this video I take Leo Tolstoy's "Confessions" and "The Death of Ivan Ilyich" for an existential spin and discuss the phenomenon of existential dread : )

"one foot in order, one in chaos, until death provide me relief" - Brilliant!
Great to know that something resonated, thanks for watching:)
@@augustusphilosophy something would be an understatement, I literally binged watched all of your videos as soon as I found you.
That is incredible! I am glad you left a comment, it gives me a lot of meaning and purpose when I am making each video to know that there is an actual person on the other end paying attention:) With the internet it is easy to forget that and just see the numbers
@@augustusphilosophy you deserve more credit than you give yourself, keep up the good work mate ☺️❤️, looking forward to more 😁
Title: "The philosophy of Tolstoy"
*Proceeds to briefly talk about Tolstoy and then go on a rant about the problem of existence*
Thank you brother 🙏🙌
Great video, thank you very much , note to self(nts) watched all of it 9:24
Amazing! Always waiting for your new video:)
Nice reading friend. Thank you.
But I do agree with others: fix the title. Should be more aligned. Will make this stronger. Thank you again.
Bad title. That is not "the philosophy of Leo Tolstoy"
I am dying but I am not dead yet ❤
Очень хорошо.
Thank you.. We have to tolerate for the sake of what awaits us Beyond this chaotic existence. Solitude and contemplation helps.
Unlike your Camus video; this one is decent.
A bit self-absorbed, but decent.
I've found the answers that you and all philosophers knowingly seek, and that absolutely all humans seek - whether or not they know it. The Meaning of Life. And no, it's nothing you've heard as yet! But Leo Tolstoy was definitely on the correct path, when you understand his deepest of understandings. And it is indeed very "good news." The biblical prophet Elijah has returned, as prophesied, and testifies. If you want to know more, click and ye shall find.
Clicking
@@grmalinda6251 keep your clicks, there's nothing to find, nothing new under the sun... meanings are only for the meaning and purpose loving mind, and the mind is... what, if not just another thought that appears [and disappears] in consciousness?! And consciousness is the knowing aspect of being alive as life itself, the only life you can ever know, and which you know by being, not by thinking. Conscious life is what you are, and have always been, not something you can find, unless you are dead and still able to seek that which you lost or never had...
@@d1427 is there any research on this that I could investigate?
What exactly is life? Please
@@grmalinda6251 yes, investigate within, where else do you expect to learn about life?!
Isn't that funny- you want to learn from others what life is, as if you were dead- are you dead/have you ever experienced being so?! How can you expect to learn about life from hearsay, i.e., finding in books what means to be alive/that which you already are- life itself?!
Alternatively, there are all kind of gurus, teachers and... well wishers who, 'for a click or two' would sell you stuff about how to learn about what you already are- life. Indians say there is a special place in hell for such merchants...
@@d1427 what the Indians say? Is that what you mean by hearsay?
I have life but that doesn't mean I understand it anymore than I understand my brain or gut. I learn from many sources.
