Heck yeah, congrats bud! Thanks for watching and supporting all of this too, I really appreciate it!

@@firez1100 picked mine up last weekend. Great bike!
@@brandonmanning9675 congrats man! What was the overall cost?
I have a 2020 cb650r I’m pretty happy! I would recommend over the competition for the great brakes with abs and the Honda reliability.
How would it compare to a Ninja 650?
@@tubingforever I actually have an 07 ninja 650 too😄 the Honda’s a lot faster. The twin doesn’t sound as good either but the kawis a good bike
Is it fast enough? I have a zx6r but thinking about switching to the cbr650 for more comfort but I still would like to have fun
Honda cbr 650 r India launch 2023
@@kaionterobertson7670 it’s definitely slower but it’s 90hp it’s still up there
The black one is beautiful but the red ones touches my soul with the stickers removed
Ohhh yeah! I'm a big fan of the stickerless look sometimes too. Did that with two of my red CBR600RRs over the years and loved how it turned out with the other changes etc.
@@HondaProKevin I might do that for my 500r
This is my dream bike and I really want to buy it as my first bike 👍🏽😍
Hey! Loved how you have covered in detail. Using the switches, opening the seat, etc .. Great work 🙏🏻
Thank you for the kind words, really appreciate the support!
Price absolutely great I’m planning to get my new 2022 Honda CBR650R great looking bike affordable price great showcase 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have this bike and it’s a great machine, I love it 😊
For some reason is like Honda brought back the F4i in this bike. 93hp at 12k RPM, pretty sporty but not quite super sport and a banana seat. Just a 50cc difference to keep up with the times!
You hit the nail on the head bud as this bike is a modern day F4i. It's funny because that's what I used to tell people all the time when they asked exactly what this CBR650F / CBR650R bike is for and why it's in the lineup etc.
i love everything about the 650r except the rear portion of the bike. I just looks cut down and reminds me of a grasshopper for some reason. They need to make it look like the 500r in my opinion.
Can't wait to pick mine up next week. This video has made me so much more impatient lol.
lol heck yeah! Nothing worst than trying to get some sleep when you know you're picking up a new bike soon but it makes that moment even sweeter when it comes!
Congrats on the new toy and ride safe bud!
@@HondaProKevin agreed, this has been a long time coming. Been stuck in a bad situation at prohibited me from getting a bike for years. Finally broke the chains, and time to feel that open air buffeting my buddy!!! 🧡
The first thing I would have to do is put an after market pipe on it.that stock pipe is way to quite.remember a loud bike is a safe bike.even if a car don’t see me like in thier blind spot for example they can at least hear me
I'm right there with ya, plus there's nothing better than an inline-four screaming through the RPMs!
Im getting this bike on spring 2022. Cant wait.
Heck yeah! It's a little early but congrats on making that happen very soon as Spring is right around the corner!
@@HondaProKevin it depends. In Poland we are waiting for winter first ;)
Same! It’ll be my first bike!!
Hi smelly, nice video. I wonder if red will ever come back. Black is nice but that red fit so well.
Love the review, just preordered my own Grey CBR
Thanks man, appreciate it!
That's awesome, congrats! Hopefully you don't have to wait too long with everything being delayed these days.
I can’t be happier with the grey, the paint is amazing in person! Has a metallic flake through it too. I just got mine today!
Is the grey colour available in the US only?
In Australia we have this thing called LAMS, pretty much it’s a legislation that prevents learners and new riders from riding big bikes, you stay on your LAMS for about two years which is dumb if you want to upgrade to bigger bikes you have to wait two years, but the 650R is one of the only bikes that sound nice and goes quick for a LAMS bike besides a MT07 , yes Australia might restrict the power on them but any good tuner can derestrict them and they would be a LAMS weapon
It's wild how different the laws are from one country to the next! I can see their reasoning behind tiered licenses after selling bikes for 15 years and seeing a lot of people hurt and or killed because they bought a bike they should have never been on but on the flipside, you've got to love the freedom of being able to buy whatever you want.
and in my country bikes over 150cc are banned because the police won't be able catch up if a bike with cc tries to run away 😂😂
We are similar in new Zealand. We have to go through the whole process of learners, restricted and full licence.
In Britain I think it's a lot of bike for the price, but I don't know why you can't order a colour from Honda you want,I don't mind the time it takes to ship over, I am now buying my second ,CBR650F ,only black or red ,hence .my second red ,I would of liked a blue which looks nice for a change, but not for our country
Cheaper than I expected, can't wait to get mine, but I want RED!
Oh yeah, it's hard to beat a CBR in red but I might be a bit biased as all of mine have always been red lol! Well, except for my first bike which was a purple and yellow CBR600F2. I had no choice back then as it was cheap and I wanted a bike, it was all down hill after that lol!
everybody was comparing this bike to the Ninja650 or the R7, but I'd argue with that since those are crappy 2 cylinder bikes, this is why I bought this one, the only ~600cc class inline 4 (sporty bike) on the market in my country. Now that the Kawasaki ZX4rr is coming I'd call that the real competitor for this, even their price is the same
Maybe they will bring the candy red to the U.S. for 2023. Once they do that, I'll be in line to buy one
Would reeeeealy like to see Honda bump this to a 750
That would be perfect because I've got the 500 and I already want this one
@@tvbuu the 650 is still a good jump from the 500. “I’ve owned one to” but I think a 750 would be good for Honda to compete with the bigger middleweight bikes “gsx s750, mt09, z900”
Or a 1000. Kawasaki and Suzuki have 1000s in that sport bike category
@@Miatomemphis ide like to see that to. Been saying Honda needs a cbr1000r “single R” for more of a sport tourer. But Honda seriously needs a middleweight competitor. Something that would run up against bikes like gsx s&r 750, duke 890, mt09, z900. I feel like a 750 might be to small for even that, but the cb750 moniker is so iconic that it might be worth it to make a modern cb&cbr750. Get it making just over 100hp and around 60lbs of torque. Wouldn’t be top of the market by far but would at least be competitive. Or hell. Maybe even make a cb/cbr900 🤷♂️ both iconic Honda’s
@@toofastnobrakes suzuki just dropped a new sport tour 1000GT. looks pretty nice too
Just came home with the bad boy I’m loving it
Heck yeah man, be careful on that thing!
Off topic and none of my business and I might be reaching here but is the EG in your username a reference to Honda's EG?
@@HondaProKevin no it’s just my user name
Gotcha, thought I had another EG fan lol ;)
Here in Germany we only get the Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic. and forget about the CBR600RR we don't get that at all :-(
Its the funnest bike ive ever owned.
Heck yeah, always love to hear feedback from owners!
Thet messed up the black one... The matt and glossy combi dosnt look good imo..they should have done it all gloss and kept fenders in matt plastic
You mentioned that the new front fork can be adjusted, that is incorrect
front shocks are not adjustable.
You might only get one colour over there in Americaville but at least you get the full power version, we're limited to the limited version. Or is restricted to the restricted version?
The screen needs more visibility..light really reflects of of it. I would like the ability to add new maps without a external mod chip such as a usb port to add a few maps you can switch on the fly while keeping the original map on board(or an OEM box you can add the the back of the dash as an add-on you can purchase later). An easier way to add a quick shifter. OEM upgrades for enthusiasts such as a electronic suspension you can simply replace and plug in without doing an 2 to 3 hour install(like running a new wire through the bike.,,., seriously why isnt there a new system in place for these things you could easily gain new riders for ease of use alone.
In this particular bike. Id like to have another 100 hp. Seriously. This bike handles like a dream. Its a shame you cant have the horsepower it deserves. Great bike.
Just get a 1000 lmao
@@Fizzglg didn’t want to spend 30,000 dollars. I guess the point I was trying to make is even with that type of horsepower the bike could manage that type of hp and handling etc.
@@snap1966 if the bike had that much horsepower they would end up raising the price to the same as all the other 1000s
@@Fizzglg u missed it
This bike isn’t meant to have a lot of hp that’s what the super sports are for
I had a few of the first ever 87 n 88 hurricanes. 3200 out the door. Great days.
Awesome review! Any word on what might be new for the 2022 and release date?
Thanks John, much appreciated!
For 2022, we're just going to be looking at color changes and we should see them announced within the next 30-45 days as long as we don't run into yet another rona delay.
Nice review, I get my Honda tomorrow! Can't wait to try it out =)
Any recommandations for a gps tracking system? :)
Thanks man! Heck yeah, congrats! Are you picking up a CBR650R like this one or something else?
You know, that's one thing I haven't done research on in quite a few years as back in the day they were always more of a headache than what they were worth. Times have changed though needless to say lol. That's a good possible video idea and it'll allow me to do some digging into that market a little more and see what's happening now versus years ago.
On the USA website, the nose and fender look matte and not gloss? Can Honda USA not afford to show actual USA model instead of EU model from the wrong year no less?? Also they claim the front suspension is adjustable when it isn't. Front disc size is also disputed (310 vs 320).
That's not the only instance either, same story with some ATVs too. Why? I have no idea lol but American Honda could definitely work on a few things in my opinion but I'm a nobody without a horse in the race ;)
@@HondaProKevin I think I can swap out the gloss CBR tank for the matte CB tank (almost $800) and probably secure a matte fender from EU. Not sure about the nose fairing though. A project for next year if I want to chase mostly full matte. Oh, I sold my '22 Grom in 8 weeks ... I knew it would be slow, but I underestimated other aspects too, like how much I like taller bikes. Picking up the CBR tomorrow, missing my FZ6R from a few years back.
Complete review thanks!
Thanks for the kind words bud!
I’m looking to buy my first bike , I’ve been told this is a good starter. Anyone have any insight ?
Been thinking bout getting my first bike thIs might be it
Heck yeah!
Be careful though, almost 100hp can get you in trouble real quick as a new rider and even an experienced one too lol ;)
Why does that registration plate thing stick out so far?? Sorry completely new to bikes
those SFF front forks are non-adjustable..
Wish USA gets the new for 2022 blue in some Asian markets. It's beautiful.
Hey love the video I was wondering what the fuel consumption is like, really want to get the bike but i have heard that it practically drinks like a car. In comparison to like an MT-07 or even a CBR500R? Any thoughts
Its more fuel efficient than anything that's not a Prius.
I average ~4.2 - 4.4 (all L/100km) driving normally and ~4.8 if I'm pinning it everywhere.
So anywhere between 49-56mpg.
Amazing motorcycle the only issue is the price in comparison with competition. It may be the most powerful but the price is the issue. I have one and one CBR 1000RR
how i fell in love with his underbelly muffler
I have a red 2021, my first bike 😀
Sorry but the front forks how are they adjustable i think u got it wrong there
Honda seems to think they are ;) . Here's the information on Honda's website: powersports.honda.com/street/sport/cbr650r/features
She's a beauty! I'd like to take it for a quick rip or 2 !!!
Those of you who bought this bike I'm curious how the riding position is for cruising on the highway compared to the CB650R. I realize the CB650 has more of an upright position than the CBR but how aggressive is the CBR position for 1-2 hr highway trips? I'm trying to decide between this model and the naked version.
I dont know if you bought yet, but the CBR650 is prob going to be the most upright out of most sports bikes. You generally do not lean to far forward on the CBR650R
2hrs non stop is probably approaching the limit.
The position isn't overly aggressive, but the seat sucks. I got an aftermarket one from Motostarz that has massively improved the seat time for longer trips.
R u sure the bpf showa forks are adjustable? I read everywhere else they arent? No rebound and no compression adjustability...
I made a mistake on that one and read from the spec sheet where Honda said they were adjustable, was in a hurry and didn't even think twice about it. So yeah, definitely a big slip up on my part there ;)
Here in japan we don't get the new cb650r in gray. And even though all africa twins are made 1:30 hr from my home, we can only buy red, no black, no red-white-blue.
Not as bad as yamaha where we can't even buy many of their bikes. No r7 no tracer 7, waited 3 years for the tenere 700
It's wild how they pick what colors go to which country! I'd love to sit down with the people that make those decisions among many others and just see what their reasoning behind it is. Some things I can understand but some just make no sense whatsoever lol!
Oh wow, didn't know that on the Yamaha side of things... That's pretty crazy!
@@HondaProKevin right!?!?😅
Like, is it that big of a financial burden on honda to give the japanese 3 color choices when they already exist and are all being made on the edge of tokyo?
I'm sure there is a reason, but I'm sure it is a silly one.
Like I met a yamaha executive and atleast they have a reason. Tracer 7 and tenere 700 are French design and made in France for Europe. They won't go global unless it in the japanese factory for quality control (which they claim is a problem from france)
Same with he R7 being a usa Georgia biuld.
They made an entire factory line in japan for the tenere which is what took almost 3 years for us and the none European world to get it.
Bit color limitations... they could make it an optional extra... like I'd pay extra to get a cb650r in grey here... but......
Nice looking bike, sounds a bit meh, but you covered it well, good job.
Lol I know, it's a rarity these days to have a bike that sounds good with the factory pipe. Always sucks because 9 out of 10 times that's what you're spending money on but it's part of the fun too.
Thanks man, really appreciate the support!
Great review 👍 do you think they will update this for 2023 as it seems to be getting left behind a little in terms of spec rather than styling
You are correct, that's why I am holding back. I'm waiting for a TFT display and new Fireblade headlights to be added!
@@Roadunner42KM is that coming for the 2023 model do you know?
@@brow6751 I would expect so. The features normally trickle down the range. Honda went light on the 22MY additions IMO to accommodate the restyled lights and TFT. The tail also needs to be addressed as the plate mount is way out there.
Great vid! Only thing I would change is the color and i just prefer the red over the black
Thanks man! I'm right there with you, if Honda offers their "Honda red" as an option then 99.99% of the time I'm going that route. The other .1% of the time I'm hoping they offer that B-E-A-UTIFUL pearl white lol!
Same. Give me red every time.
Just picked up my Pearl Grey CBR650R 😍😍
@@TilyXR6 What state do you live in?And any pics.
@@chorionithompson2995 I live in Western Australia. We originally had the choice between Red or Black but they dropped the Red for 2021 and offered it in the same Pearl Smokey Grey thats available on the Civic Type R
I am watching it now.. May be once I watch is many times ll get mine 🎉😉
Hopefully you can snatch one up soon ;)
Good info!
Thanks bud!
That’s going to be my next bike. I ride a ninja400 right now.
That's definitely a nice step up!
@@HondaProKevin yep with a nice upright seating position.
The price isn’t terrible but now with an Aprilia RS 660 available for not much More do you have to REALLY really love the in-line four-cylinder soundtrack to go through this I think
That's one of my biggest issues with this platform constantly increasing in price. We're not far off from competing against true supersport bikes and that's why the CBR600F4i was discontinued back in the day and Honda ran with the CBR600RR. Now, we're repeating history again with this being the modern day F4i but it looks like the CBR600RR could be phased out for most markets and maybe even for good if sales keep declining. The entire motorcycle market is changing pretty drastically, it's going to be interesting to see what the next 5-10 years looks like!
Oh and yeah, it's hard to beat the inline-four soundtrack for sure. There is nothing better in my opinion! A nice triple or v-twin is nothing to sneeze at though, heck I'd love multiples of every flavor in the garage lol!
@@HondaProKevin agreed. These companies are making mistakes. Yamaha needs a FZ6R to complete and bring CBR650’s price down and the R7 should be called the FZ7R or MT07R.
They got lazy with the 600’s but they don’t deserve to die
I mean the numbers are like 6hp difference only between the bikes. The rs660 was almost 3k more for me though here.
Would be nice if they offered a cheaper rs660 version without all the ridiculous electronic aids that I really don’t feel is necessary on a 100hp bike like 5 stages of wheelie control of even a 6axis IMU.
Regardless beautiful bike, amazing to ride too though I’ve always far preferred 4 cyclinders to twins myself.
All that aside on top of the price increase, depending where you live dealer serviceability and costs of maintenance/ repairs far higher & worse on aprilia,
Not too mention the 660’s have had a TON of problems and are not really reliable at all, massive recall is one big indicator of that.
That all was probably the biggest push for the Honda. Reliable and built like a tank .
@@jared123123 recalls are a good thing
Quick Shifter & TFT screen would be nice for nearly 10k bike. There are other bikes *cough* Duke 390 that have better electronics packages but at substantially lower prices, almost half. Would I still buy it? You bet 😁.
Ktm is nowhere near as reliable, that's why they need tech to LURE IN BUYERS. LOL
awesome bike
Idk abt others bt in India it came with decreased power
Is this a good beginner bike? (looking to buying my first)
Nice one bro 😎
Thanks bud, appreciate the support!
Does this bike fit taller riders? I'm in love with the aggressive styling but am afraid that I won't be comfortable.
Yes it does
Hw cn u reduce the weight of this bike like it is nearly around 230kg bt hw it is possible to take it below 190kg?
That's a lot of weight to shave off to get it down to around 190kg, nothing is impossible but that's pretty close to it lol ;)
Can you install different clipons for a more aggressive riding position?
I’m buying either this or the cb650 I can’t find one available anywhere near Cincinnati Ohio, does your people down there have either of these bikes? I want one now I have cash
It’s not analogue breaking system
. It’s Antilock Breaking System ABS
When did I call it "analogue breaking system"?
Change the full exhaustbsystem for a dominator and save 10 kg straight away
100%!
Is this a good beginner bike? Cheers
Any idea when it will come out in other markets?
I wish I could offer some insight into that but there are so many politics involved between the different markets it can be quite difficult. I have some insight into the American and European markets but once we get outside of those, it's a tough one.
Will the US get the red color for the upcoming 2022 model?
I can't say at the moment but it's a very good possibility ;)
The best accessory would be an extra 100cc 💚
Getting mine this week. Any recommendations on an aftermarket exhaust?

Very good looking bike.
What is difference on 2020 and 2021 model??
All of it is explained in the video and or the links in the description ;)
Thinking about it
Need help deciding. Used 2019, 500 miles, $7k or is the 2021 with upgrades worth it for $9.5k.
You won’t remember $2,500. You will remember the upgrades and new bike.
I think this is the one
I have a honda 500f and I'm looking for faster and affordable any idea on a top speed? As my current bike tops out at 103
Top speed is around 144Mph.
Are they reliable?
I’m 6’5. Is it safe to assume I’m too tall for this bike?
Good question! I'm 6'2 and am comfortable on it, a lot more than on the CBR600RR but those extra 3 inches can make a big difference. Tried my best not to do the "that's what she said" line lol! But in all seriousness, it's worth throwing a leg over and seeing because I wouldn't say you're definitely too tall for it. However, if you were asking about the Rebel 500 with its pretty cramped rider's triangle, then I could no doubt say you're too tall to really be comfortable without modifying things.
what exactly is the difference between the 2020 model and the 2021, worth the jump or?
A lot of little differenes like separate function big piston forks for 2021 and a lot of other small things,
Same bike for the most part but seeing as the msrp didn’t increase at all ofc 2021 + more worth it if you can
@@jared123123 can you explain difference in the forks from the old

They didnt let you ride it? Rather see you take it out on the road.
I didn't want to ask originally as I was just trying to get my foot in the door after what happened at the start of the year but they've offered so I may play around in the future with throwing a ride segment in there. It's just that there are a TON of ride reviews so it would need to be something "different" for people to want to watch that etc and not just click off the video. I'm kicking it around though, I'm trying to make these better so I really appreciate your input ;)
@@HondaProKevin Ride videos are awesome because we get to see the bike in action with a different point on view. I will watch 10 different CZcamsrs riding the same bike just to get different opinions. Your opinion matters also with these bikes when people are shopping around for one! Keep up the good work!
Man honda needs a better naming scheme. I google cbr650 and it shows up a different bike but with the same name

Great looking bike, hideous gage cluster, and priced too high
I say "R's". :)
The only bad thing his the tyres. Dunlop are crap
These new bikes look like crap like someone chopped off the back. Gone are the best looking bikes from the 80's to the 90's that were much more practical and carried a passenger in comfort. why even bother with a rear seat. Just make an engine with a seat on top while charging big bucks.
