    Cleaning Level: Japanese.
    I learn more from Japanese craftsmen than most other.

    Hello Andy San :) Always appreciate your videos and your dedication and effort to guitar/bass repair and maintenance! I have some questions on fret leveling. I see that you use a relatively short leveling beam (approximately 20cm?) for leveling. Do you use the short beam leveling the whole fret board? As I see you only level the high frets (12th fret and above) at 9:00, are you just using it to create the fall away? Thanks for your effort on making the great videos. Salute ;)

      I believe that fret leveling is not a process of leveling all the frets.
      I level the frets so that the third fret is high enough to hold the string, and the high frets are low enough to hold the string.
      When I level the frets on a used guitar, I often use a long leveling tool.

    What do you use to polish the frets ?

    見ていると丁寧な仕事に心休まります。近ければ私のギターもお願いしたいところです。作業音にリバーブをかけているのもプログッシブですね。

    Not familiar with Using the solder technique to remove frets, are you reusing the frets?

    • @Andybassguitar
      @Andybassguitar  Před 2 lety

      We do not reuse them.
      Solder is used to facilitate the transfer of heat.
      You can work without it.

    Don't you use gauged nut files? It looks like you use the same file for all strings. Great work and nice filming also!

    • @Andybassguitar
      @Andybassguitar  Před 3 lety +3

      It's not a gauge type.
      The reason why I use the same file is because if I carve the grooves with a large file at once, I can't carve the grooves properly, so I start with the smallest file and gradually work my way up to a larger file.

    いつも見させてもらってます^ ^ Andyさんはバインディング無しのギターでも丁寧にタングの端をカットされてますが、それによって横の溝を筆で塗られてるのは何を塗られてるのでしょうかm(_ _)m?お時間ある時で良いので教えて抱けたら嬉しいです(^^)
