- Here's a quick video showing you how to legally download, save and print many of my fingerstyle guitar tabs 100% FREE.
The guitar tabs will help you learn with the recent videos I've been putting up where I slowly play through many of my famous cover tunes.
These are the best FREE (and legal) resources I have found, and I wanted to share them with you. I have updated the descriptions in the videos so you'll find the GP5 / tab link if one exists.
I hope that this will help you get your playing to the next level and play beautifully.

It is still surprising to hear that though, since there are many figerstyle guitarists out there who sell tabs of their arrangements of famous songs on their websites. But apparently I still don't understand the whole thing.

The tabs might differ. Use them as a tool. I wish I could legally give you my tabs but I cant…Groove on!

Mind you, There are quite a few folks that just post a link to their tabs of their arrangements on their website where they’ll charge a small fee for the download. Maybe that’s worth pursuing and a potential revenue stream as well.
Unfortunately that’s totally illegal to distribute tabs in any way - even free - unless I have permission. I know many other people do it so it seems nuts that I don’t - but trust me, i know guys who’ve received lawsuits. If I could distribute tabs it would be easy.
I do however coach students on my arrangements on studywithadam.com which is 100% compliant.

@@ColinMacPhail. Please do tell your teacher. It"s a pity we can't just give out tabs but the publishers are ferocious. Sooner or later they will penalize him - and it could cost a lot $$$$
I have guitar pro 7.5 I wonder if the tabs would open with that software 🤔 I would think it would load any .gp files. Thank you for sharing!

Adam - thank you so much for doing this! It is very generous of you. I am having a problem however when I bring up Ultimate Guitar. It shows the tabs for Yesterday in the back ground but there is a big ad covering most of the tabs saying "pro access required" and I cannot get past that - even though I clicked the choice that read "guitar pro" and not "Pro". Am I doing something wrong? Thanks again!
David, there must be a way around this. I do not have pro access and I can get to it just fine. Be sure you click the guitar pro version and maybe try a different browser.
It could also be if you are trying to print directly from ultimate guitar it will tell you that you need pro access. Here’s what you need to do as I described in the video.
Scroll down and locate the very small button where it says “download guitar pro file. “
You should be able to download that file no problem. Then you will need either the musescore or guitar pro software to open that file and print it.
Everything you saw me do in the video was without a pro account. I hope this helps.

You are a guitar player and font need to be worrying about theses things. Once I again I really appreciate everything!!
Hey Adam, do you think it would be a good idea to follow a similar video structure as Kenneth Acoustic on youtube? He puts the tabs in the video for all his recordings and I think that helps him capitalize on the people who go back multiple times to his videos to play his arrangements. In your case, you could record the arrangements that have been shared for free on the internet so you still get remuneration from adsense for your hard work.
That’s a great idea of course but please read my description! Putting tabs in the video is illegal and other guitarists have had their channel shut down because of tabs in the video, or else I would certainly do it.

Gareth Evans had a major problem because of tablatures in his videos. The publishers claimed that his CZcams videos were copyright infringement and CZcams almost took his entire channel down. Luckily because he knew some of the right people he could prevent it but it was looking like absolute ruined for him.
The more famous guitarist get the more dangerous it becomes. Publishers then look to give lawsuits and take down channels as part of their plan hoping that the guitarist will pay them to keep the channel up to survive. Just because everybody is giving tabs away or putting them on screen does not mean it’s legal. That’s why I had to go through this complicated process as I showed in this video showing how to get the tablatures from a legitimate source.

Nice idea but doesn't work on a windows.
I'm quite sure musescore also has a windows app.
thank you, @@adamrafferty . I am using Musescore 4.2.0 under MS Windows 10 and can confirm that I can open the Steel Guitar part but it still shows only the notes (black dots) and not the tabs. Anything changed with this SW version or am I missing something? thank you for any support, best from Switzerland
Yes, -
open the score, and press "i" on your keaybord. This brings up instruments.
Add a 2nd staff - guuitar tablature.
Copy everything in tye black dots.
Click on TAB staff and poaste - voila you have tabs.
Scan carefully as it will try to put everything in open position, like if I play E 2nd string 5 fret, it will default to your open E string.
All you have to do to change strings in TABS is click note / drag to new string.

That's funny....every song of yours I see on ultimate guitar is under pro...so yeah...that's not going to work. Thank you for what you do for us with your lessons on CZcams though, they are very good and helpful to anyone trying to learn.
You have to look for the small download button - no need for pro!
