  • In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves talks about 5 weird-ish revolvers for concealed carry. We aren't discussing ZANY handguns like a Colt Single Action Army or a Nagant revolver - we are talking about wheelguns that are actually decent, viable carry options: They are just a little weird in their own special way. We also talk about Kenny G, mythril, Wolverine's skeleton, and Blade Runner. It's one of those videos.

Arizona has a statewide Second Amendment Sanctuary bill that just passed the House and is on the way to the Senate.
I cannot add links without being censored so I recommend all Arizonan's seek out the Gun Owners of America site and search for *"Arizona Sanctuary".* Follow the simple instructions and act accordingly. It is literally a minimum of two mouse clicks and your form is complete at its most basic level.
However, feel free to add in your own verbiage (keep it clean and civil) so it does not get glossed over as just another 'cut & paste' template from GOA. Please and Thank You.
Now is our chance to make our great state No. 48 a Second Amendment Sanctuary _State._ Not just a single county, township or city - _but the entire state!_
    Stay classy my friends.

I'm off to montana they already had those laws. Colorado is going in the wrong direction but they have me until montana starts recreational sales, Arizona the police can disarm you simply for carrying. At least for now Colorado has it in law that if you are carrying and doing so safely and lawfully the police may not stop you and ask questions about your gun or disarm you simply because somebody was uncomfortable with you having a gun, I've read to many stories about somebody walking down the street in Arizona being detained and disarmed for nothing and the person not being able to do anything about it because no lawyer would help their broke ass and I quote "because there was no case"

Fiber optic front sight and a scandium L frame. It was marketed as the modern replacement for the Model 19/66, but it only lasted on the market for a year and a half before Smith pulled it. My perceived advantage of a revolver over an autoloader is the independence from extra integral components to make the machine operate.
All I need is the gun and the ammo, nothing more.

Thanks for the video! You succeeded in creating a list that was both "weird-ish" and interesting. I was vaguely aware of all of the Smith & Wesson entries. None of them have ever really seemed worth the extra price to me. Even the Rhino seems to be a neat gun that doesn't do enough that is unique to justify the price. If I'm going to carry a revolver concealed, I'll deal with the reduced power of .38 Special and increased weight of a steel cylinder to carry a Smith & Wesson 642 or 642 Airweight.
I've made up the term "discrete carry" for places where I don't need to be truly concealed but don't want to be as obvious as open carry would be. For places like that, I've often thought of buying and carrying something like a Ruger SP101 with a 4.2 inch barrel in .357 Magnum. That would be a tough gun to conceal, but it wouldn't be as heavy as GP100. Five rounds of .357 Magnum would be an effective argument against many dangers. I wouldn't plan to put tens of thousands of full magnum rounds through the gun. Even if the gun could handle that service, my hands would not be happy. For places where I want to be a little discrete but have some power, I've always thought that this combination had value.
I really enjoyed hearing about the 10mm GP100 because I could see that gun fitting that "discrete carry" niche. The gun would weigh more, but in places where I wanted more power than I could get from .38 Special or even .357 Magnum, the extra power would be worth the cost of the extra weight. If my healthy hadn't failed, I'd have been hiking in bear country in Wyoming. I was thinking of getting the 4-inch SP101 for that scenario. The 3-inch, 10mm GP100 would be a better choice. I'll never be in a position to afford this gun or even have a good use for this gun. Even so, I appreciate knowing that it exists. In many ways, this gun fills the niche that .41 Magnum used to fill. The difference is that 10mm ammunition is more available these days (or at least going forward after the current shortage) than .41 Magnum is. The ability to shoot .40 S&W adds further to the ammo availability advantage. This revolver would also combine well with a 10mm carbine. Again, that was a great choice for this list. Thank you!

I have an SP101 3". I had a very good trigger job done on it. It is like butter. That extra sight radius really helps. Also, in a pancake leather OWD holster, lays completely flat, and is very concealed. Sure, not my go to the city carry gun (live way out in the country in Texas), but, to the nearest town to buy supplies, it is fine. I want a 3", six shot 44spl revolver. Someone should make that gun. Use modern light weight materials, and put a decent front sight on it. That is a wonderful cartridge if you handload.

Ruger's SP101 in .327 or their LCR in .327 are also fun. The Chiappa is a fun little pistol. I have an old carbon steel frame Colt Detective Special and a Colt alloy frame Agent, 2.125 inch barrel snub nose revolvers reamed from .38 Special to .357 Magnum, and I have yet to blow one up. Plus, the S&W has aftermarket laser grips available to make aiming wayyy easier while the Chiappa does not. BUT the S&W restricts you to bullets of no less than 120 grains.
