Manaia le faasoa…there are so many unknowledgeable people who twisted the truth ole “ Taua o Papa”. The past is irrevocable and the treasure of our genealogies remained imbedded in our history. The Goddness Nafanua prognosticated and envisioned all future events and one from her lineage will be the first “ Tuputafai”fa”, not from the Malietoa clans. Our genealogy is from the lineage of Nafanua and conjugated with the Malietoa Laauli, yet we remain in humility. You said it very well and concise. Soifua.

I am a Tautiaga, so I know that mavaega very well. Ole Mavaega a Manu Samoa ma Tauti'aga, very few people (failauga, tamali'i, parents etc.) ever use it, but it's another beautiful Samoan-derived farewell lesson. THANK YOU for the salutation.

Faamolemole lau susuga le Gafatasi polea le mafuaaga tonu na filifilia ai e Nafanua Valasi ae lē filifilia seisi tagta ese? E iai se faia?

Yes, e iai le faia. Sooaemalelagi is a direct decendant of Nafanua, through Tonumaipe'a Sauoaiga's courtship / usuga of Gatoaitele's daughter Atogauga'atuitonga or Atogauga-a-Tui'Tonga or Ato etc (Samoans, to this day, still have MANY names due to these royal title bestowment and land rights. Ato and Vaetamasoalii's mother, along with their brother Lalovi, was - Gatoaitele. Gatoaitele was the daughter of Malietoa La'auli, and the granddaughter of Tui'Samoa or Tuisamoa or Tui'Fiti or Tuifiti as he was also known because they were from our great families in Fiji. And it goes on and on, it's a beautiful maze. To sum it up, all these royal families are related through millenias and centuries of intermarriage!!! That was the right of royals and the aristocracy for thousands of years, around the world as well, down to this very day. I'm proud of it all, good and bad, it's who we are.
