Gotta love that quality structural carpet
I never knew removing the carpet could snap a body in half…the more you know 🤔
"this is definitely in the top five most stupid things ive done this week" bro what else have you done
Haha, too sketchy to say
@@HudsonAutoFilms Aye 🤣🤣
Man, this feels like the first episode from Project Binky... The presentation, the scope... Good luck with what you're about to attempt within the next few episodes.
being less drawn out would be nice though
Thank you! That’s really kind, I love that series. Lots of fun to come with this build :)
I hope this build is Binky level
At 11:35 he even gets the funk out
@@JagermonstaI have given up with them - have they even done a wrap up on that car yet? Has anyone seen it drive? It's gotta be the most anti climactic end of a project ever 😅
OMG, when you pulled the carpet out of the land rover, you weren't kidding this thing was gooone!
The carpet was a structural component!
The area between madness and greatness is where you live dude truly an epic idea
Haha that sounds about right! Perhaps more towards madness! It’s going to be a fun build!
@@HudsonAutoFilms this is like "the excellent" that Jeremy Clarkson made
i dunno sounds like two sides of the same coin
Yey, here we go!
Perhaps an off road challenge is in store between the Aston and Kermit!
Could be fun!
An Aston Rover D(efendeur)B. You should swap a V8 in it, more coherent with the Aston body.
Overland Aston! I had originally wanted to use a rover V8 discovery, but there was some clearance issues so the 300 worked a lot better! But I think later down the line we will go for an even cooler V8!
The commentary, the accent, the knowledge, the confidence and no-nonsense delivery, the hair, the overalls. Everything was spot on - Subscribed :)
Thank you! That’s so kind. I’m really glad you enjoyed the episode. Lots of exciting episodes to come on this build! Thank you for your support :)
The Long Range Desert Group called ~ they want their image back!
Excellent grinder control - brilliant time-lapse / editing.
Haha I’ll unplug the phone! Thank you for your support, it’s going to be a fun build!
Recent subscriber here but I've binged the back catalogue. You're 20 years younger than me and you have 20 years more experience! Jolly good work all round.
Thanks for your support! I’m glad you’re enjoying, lots of cool stuff to come 😎😎
Haha I’m just learning on the job!
Video should be an hour long mate.
I’d like them longer, but many seem to like them shorter. I’m about to start posting uncut versions of the videos on Patreon. Full 1-2 hour episodes:)
Nope. That's much too long.
Why, you got nothing to do in your life?
Personally 20-30 minutes is plenty, you can just have more episodes like MCM, perfect formula
@@herrrechtschreibpruefungBoo hoo loser
This kind of a crazy project is an automatic subscription in my book.
Haha. Lots of really exciting episodes to come on this. Thank you for your support!
Really digged the groovy cool vibes, don't forget to pump up the volume people.
Glad you enjoyed!
Bonkers project....... Love it!
Can’t beat bonkers!
Ok this series is the reason I just subscribed u 😂❤
(So try to add more videos of this series)
Episodes coming every other Sunday! It’s almost done in real life!
Hey, your channel was on my front page and I have to say that I have found an absolute gem. Your videographic approach is very pleasing and your idea for the Aston is original. Keep it up and good luck!❤
Thank you so much! That’s really kind. I’m very pleased that you’re enjoying! Lots of very exciting episodes coming up!
You should be using a reciprocating saw! Cuts the work time in half.
I tried that off camera, but mine wouldn’t get through the thicker metal! So had to use the grinder!
Or a Stihl saw
I will excuse your excellent pun Ian! 🤣😂
@@HudsonAutoFilmsa sharp axe works well on land rovers too! 😁
Been looking forward to an update on the aston project, this did not dissapoint. Not seen one of these before great video✌️
Glad you enjoyed! It’s going to be a crazy build!
your channel is going to blow up if you keep up with this project!
It’s going to be a crazy build! Lots of episodes in the bag and coming soon!
Wow this is really cool and complete genius! The land rover made the 1991 BMW 5 series I had a few years ago look immaculate lol.
Haha yes, that landrover had seen better days, 20 years ago!
If that first b pillar was held on by a prayer, the second one was held on by a half hearted wish!
Haha it really was…the rust was remarkable, if rust can be described that way!
And the rest of it held together with a dream or nightmare
Time for a haircut..! I 😂😂😂😂
I think I better shave it all off!
Dude ngl , your production Value for 11k Subs is through the roof.
Sub is out and im sure you will pop soon.
Greetings from Germany ;)
Thank you so much! I try my best with what I’ve got! Definitely makes the process a lot longer, but it’s good fun. Thank you for your support, lots of great episodes to come!
Can't wait to see this come together. Have a good week. Marc from Australia 🇦🇺
It’s going to be crazy! Have a good week Marc 😎
Love this channel, best restomods every, such amazing builds 😀
Glad you’re enjoying! It’s going to be a crazy build!
Amazing video can wait to see part two 😊
Thank you! Coming very soon!
Now, could this be "The best 4 x 4 so far?"....Great fun. A wacky but exciting project. Engine sounds good considering the state of the rest. Looking forward to this. Nice to see you well and imagination running riot. All the best and God bless.
Haha let’s hope so! It’s going to be great fun. The engine is remarkably good, rust always was the killer, the engines seem to go on forever if treated even remotely well. Thank you for watching Jeff, take care and God bless!
Cracking mate. Looking forward to the next episode 👍
Glad you enjoyed! Next episode on this one in a couple of weeks, it’s going to be great fun!
Again a great idea 👍Guess the Defender‘s performances has increased rapidly 😉 Looking forward to the next steps 🍀
Glad you like it! Haha yes, fastest landrover around!
Cracking video! Really enjoy watching this!
Thank you! I’m really glad you enjoyed! Lots to come!
By far the happiest Land Rover owner
Haha it’s early days
cool concept! cant wait for the next video
Thank you! Next video in a week!
Instantly subscribed I can’t wait for part 2
Thank you! It’s going to be a fun series! Next episode soon!
This is either going to be absolutely incredible, or its going to be like the time I saw someone on Marketplace drop a 67 Mustang body on the frame of a Chevy S10 (very poorly)
I think you've got a golden opportunity here tho! Go for it!
I can say, as I’m a few weeks ahead from filming this first video…it’s coming on pretty amazingly! So stay tuned!! Thank you for your support and for watching! Much appreciated
@@HudsonAutoFilms I'm excited to see whatcha cook up with this!
I'll be sure to keep my notifications on and ready for the next upload!
I called this 6 months ago. So glad you're actually going down this route. Mad Max machine.
It’s going to be crazy! Can’t wait to share more :)
@@HudsonAutoFilms I'll be looking forward to every episode. I absolutely loved my Discovery . I was going to turn it in to a D-Lander, with a fibreglass Freelander 1 body on it ,but was made an offer for it I couldn't refuse. Then I bought a Disco 2 as a donor for a D-Lander F2RS - a Freelander 2 fibreglass body with a clam shell rear body. But was again made an offer I couldn't refuse before the build was finished.
Well, this is the most bonkers thing I've seen in a long time. Looking forward to more!
Bonkers is best! Lots of fun to come :)
That cool! keep it up man
Thanks! It’s going to be crazy!
Chop shop London garage inspired. Well done!❤
Thank you!
Good idea man,
Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Very excited to share the progress over the coming episodes!!
Really enjoyed the video, your editing skills made it enjoyable to watch.
My only advice would be get yourself a reciprocating saw or a 9" grinder!
Can't wait to see the Aston body on there😊
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed - lots to come for this build. I tried the saw but due to my only power supply being a little generator, it didn’t have the drive! So the little grinder had to do!
Building a STRANGE ROVER...excellent done in the 80s by a mate of mine.
Go for it, his was a hoot. He used a TR7 body... subscribed for the sheer fun of it.
Good luck!
Thanks for watching and subscribing! That sounds awesome, wonder if it’s still out there??
@@HudsonAutoFilms I have no idea, he won trophies with it. He likely crashed it, he was a very aggressive competitor.
Have fun and I will applaud the end result...
Love the style! Keep it going
Thank you! Lots to come :)
This looks great fun.
It’s going to be a crazy machine!!
@@HudsonAutoFilms Yes I can see that. Two totally different vehicles. 👍
Awesome idea!
Thanks! It’s going to be fun!
Wonderful, instant subscription!
Thank you! Lots of fun episodes to come on this one!!
This is awesome. i will be following your build. ive wanted to do the same just with a Triumph estate body.
That would be very cool! Lots of great episodes to come, thanks for supporting!
Im invested with this project, subscribed
Thank you! It’s going to be awesome :)
With the Range Rover you're sitting up high, with the Aston you'll be sitting a lot lower, I have a feeling that all of the controls and pedals will be too high, perhaps they can be lowered without replacing the firewall, we'll see.. Good luck!
I had a lot of concern about that. But all I’ll say is, things have gone a lot better than planned!!
@@HudsonAutoFilms looking forward to seeing the results!
Fantastic!
Thanks! It’s going to be fun!
Great video and perfectly insane project, subscription earned :)
Thank you! Lots of great episodes to come on this 😎
That hair is majestic god damn
Haha thank you
Looking forward to the rest of tje build
It’s going to be fun! Lots of episodes in the bag and it’s shaping up very well!
@@HudsonAutoFilms cant wait. I was actualy hoping for a land rover Shell on aston Martin floor and drivetrain, but I think this build is gonna be great to. It is always fun when pepole think outside the box. Anyone can restore a car,but not all can custom build one
Crazy how a not so old car can be rusted😮, bravo🎉
It really is, the rust was everywhere!
Great video keep them coming 😊
Glad you enjoyed! Lots to come :)
This aston rover needs to be called The Magnificent!
Haha I like that! Or the Astrover?
THIS IS AMAZING!!!
It’s going to be awesome!
Love this as an apprentice welder, kind of thing id love to do
It’s going to be great! Lots of fun episodes to come…lots of fab
Amazing!!
It’s going to be cool!
Cool idea - I believe superfastmatt did something similar to a dodge viper.
I saw an episode he did on that, very cool. I’ll have to study them as I’m sure I’ll run into many similar hurdles! But everything is going well so far!
Damn that Rover body is cheesed 🤣!! Cool project! Subscribed! Aloha from Maui Hawaii 😎🤙🏽
It’s sure is! Wow cool that you’re watching from all the way over there! Aloha!
At last, the Aston Martin you almost promised yourself. Love it
I can’t believe aston didn’t make one like this from factory 😉 it’s going to be great fun, thank you for watching!
Proper content love it
Glad you enjoyed! Lots to come, it’s turning out well!!
Captures the refined essence of British motoring.
😂😂😎
I need those jumpseats. Also, I guess in the UK you had those sweet seat headrest caps that I’ve never seen any where else before. I’m a huge fan of the wildly under rated dirt cheap and easy to work on D1.
Glad you like it…I mean a lot of it is available, just sitting in a rather large pile
Iam thinking of a certain TopGear episode here :) Just make sure to attch the spoprtcar body securely to the LandRover :)
Haha I may have taken some inspiration! Don’t worry, I’ll use a bit of superglue:)
I think anyone starting a project like this needs to get a reciprocating saw for the job.
That "unnatural feeling" is a Jeep thing.
I tried the saw off camera, but due to only having a little generator, it wouldn’t get up to full power. So the grinder had to do! Even though that was going rather slow…
I might have to avoid jeeps in that case…I like doors
Looking forward to seeing the end result.
It’s going to be very….unique!
this is going to be great
It’s going to be great fun!
Cant wait for the next episode already, also this video should of been longer mate👍
Really glad you enjoyed! As the series goes on, the episodes get longer! I’m always unsure how much angle grinding is too much! Thank you for watching mate :)
Old diesel in Anston Martin? Unmatched combination.
Amen. Astons always should have had black smoke coming from the exhaust in my opinion 🫡
14:03 so now it’s technically a Land Rover defender 😂😂
Haha yeah I accidentally carved a defender out 😂
When it's complete you should Badge it “The Excellent II”
Haha that’s a great idea, definitely going to do that!
this is such great bad idea - i love it. Followed!
Haha I’ll admit it’s the finest level of idiocy 😂 it’s going to be so fun! Thanks for following!
I am very much interested and look forward to seeing how you go
Thanks for your support! Lots of fun episodes to come!
Bless the algorithm for this! And ur so handsome too 😍
You’re making me blush!
Great project
Thanks! Stay tuned, lots of fun episodes to come :)
Of course this should work!
As I sit, a few weeks on from making this first video…I am amazed at what I’m looking at…stay tuned!
“The risk of falling out has risen” 😂😂😂
😂 it was alarming to say the least!
You could send the skylights to soup classic motoring for his camper conversion..!
Nice vid :)
He can have them! Glad you enjoyed, lots to come for this build :)
This will be epic if you pull it off!
It will be, I’ve been working on it for a couple of months in real life, and I can excitedly say…it’s coming on well!
This is just a crazy, whacky idea and I love it 🤣 cannot wait to see the outcome of this!
“The top 5 stupid things I’ve done…. this week” 🤣🤣
Some great episodes on the way! Haha I wish I was lying 😂
Treat yourself to a reciprocating saw, it would save a lot of time and faffing about with the angle grinder.
Good luck
Now this what i called the excelent
Haha
Great job thus far! But it does look like by the time you finish removing the rusty parts, you'll end up with a set of wheels.... if not tires.
And even the tyres are cracked!
thats very mint aston my freind just missing a few parts XD i do wonder where this project gone go =) Atleast you got 2 things to abuse to make something.
Most of the damage will polish out 😉 I film a few weeks in advance now, so let me tell you…it’s looking mad! In the best way possible. Lots of exciting episodes to come. Thanks for watching :)
@@HudsonAutoFilms Im surely gone watch this madness haha i do hope you sell some spare parts of the landrover for the people who love em. saw you take them windows out and stuf. gone be fun to watch this progress i like shennigans as this but eeh Atleast nobody else gone have a 4X4 aston xd
13:46 Added advantage, like what you did there .
😎😂
That with a roll cage would be so cool
You’re reading my mind!
It will never be superleggera but it will be supertractioni ! 😁👍
😎😂😂
You need to buy a reciprocating saw and some diablo blades, you'd have had that roof off in 10 mins
Haha answered this one quite a few times, there were reasons
ive searched for a project like this for a while
It’s going to be a fun ride!
You will want to use a dustmask when taking out old carpets and interiors. Don't want to breathe in any of that harmful powder, or get it on your skin, especially if your pores are open.
Good luck Charlie!
why does it look like this land rover was used as a pig sty in its former life?
Haha it was literally rotting on a farm…lots of dogs lived in it
Because it was LoL
I love this
It’s going to be fun!
If you ever need to take the roof off a car in the uk it goes like this...
"Hi local fire station, yes I wanted to know if you wanted to practice taking to roof off a .... Oh you do, wonderful, I'm at ...." Some time later one car no roof, mates with the very awesome firemen, who will always be happy to see you
I’ll bear that in mind for next time!
@@HudsonAutoFilmsGreat video btw you have another subscriber, you have done some great videos, keep up the good work.
I like how u just do this by yourself in a feild
Yeah it has its pros and cons! A mains electric supply would be helpful though!
the badass version of mat armstrong
Haha thank you
This feels like old MightyCarMods
I used to watch them all the time! I’ll have to see what they’re up to these days!
Good lord this will be interesting...
The original Discovery had quite a few marketting tricks which you appear to have murdered tho
Alpine Windows (talk to George over at Soup Classic Motoring - he likes those)
Terence Conran designed interior
Rear Seats setup to look OVER the front passengers for those long trips into the Alps etc.
Hey ho
It’s going to be quite the thing. Sadly its tricks were long broken before I got there. Seats ruined, interior electrics all frazzled etc.
Quick pause at 11:40
OH, THAT LOOKS SPORTY!
Has anyone ever told you that you look like Moog from mighty car mods??
Awesome video
Haha that’s a new one! Thank you for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed! Lots to come on this build!
