I don’t want regional casters calling games featuring their region at worlds ever again. The only exception should be if it’s within the region like the other semi.
Which is sad because I really love Frosk and Drakos. I get they’re sad because that’s the people they know and spend their time covering, but damn.
True, just like last year. Its tough coz casters are supposed to be neutral and call the games well. But yes, the LEC have such a strong loyalty to their Region that it clearly shows when things dont go there way. Heck, even Sjoks was crying on stage last year while presenting FPX their win. Was a bit awkward to watch.

I think Drakos was trying to be transparent about his biases when he said it was sad for him as an LEC caster but - dude. This moment isn’t about you, or G2, it was about Damwon. His tone the whole series reeked of bias and acknowledging that doesn’t make it better retroactively.
Frosk actually sounded excited for DWG at the end, and hyped them up. Drakos just brought the vibe entirely down.

@@kyles6813 Forget the previous world titles, what really shows you LCK is still better than LEC, it's because they continue to perform against them, only G2 was beating LCK teams starting with 2019, even then, they lost 2-1 to GRF in 2019, the rest was head-to-head victories for LCK against the other LEC teams and if not, both went 1-1.
Got to tell you that certain part of the EU fanbase is back at it again and they're looking for any angle to say that LEC is not only better than LCK, if not everyone else. On their eyes, even if they lose, they win, in the end.
I've watched the last 90sec of this game 9 times. At 17:28 they take drake, they walk mid and summon rift herald. I would never have imagined that 90sec later, at 18:58 they win the game.
I remember jungle players arguing on importance between Rift Herald and all the Drakes besides Elder Dragon. Well, after this, I can say there is no contest. There is no drake except Elder that will EVER help you end the game like that. 4 towers and an inhib. Simply incredible.
@@unendingvoid nah, g2 responded to it like idiots. They died 1 by 1 under turret rather than grouping vs the grouped DWG. If you die 1 by 1 then year herald is stronger than drake. If you actually play with your brain turned on, give up 1 turret and group to defend the 2nd turret then herald cant push to end the game. That is why you never see herald taking like 4 towers unless the defending team have iron iv macro.

the fastest game in worlds history before this was EDG vs. BKT 2015 Groups in 20:21. BKT actually surrendered while EDG was at baron though and the game definitely would have taken longer. DWG still beat that time by over a minute.
You know, I never noticed when I watched it live. But i find it hilarious how they said at the end, Damwon is not the LCK they are a cut above that. That's low key throwing shade to the region, but when G2 won MSI it was LEC winning not just G2. Can't wait for the MSI remat- oh wait G2 didn't even qualify. Lol
Since 2018, their bias gets bigger and bigger. G2 was the only EU team making a difference. On the other hand, MSI 2021 showed that DK was just like the rest of LCK teams, they may have skill, but, since 2018, they don't adapt. This meta played exactly how DK used to play, that's why they had an upper hand over the rest, once the meta shifted to the botlane (Ghost was only good at positioning, not carrying), DK still were competitive, yet not above the rest.

While even i (as someone who realy enjoys the LEC casters because of their weirdness and quirkyness) even i think it was a bit overplayed, although they dont need to get replaced or anything. This was a semifinal and to see a "Top 4 team" die like this can get you places emotionaly if you are invested. I almost couldnt sleep after FNC-TES because i was so invested and i was happy today. Yeah it may have been a little bit unprofesional but this is not football ffs, i like them having emotions more than them just being robots commenting nonstop whats happaning like i dont have eyes or something like that.

Viewership was way up with the 4th seed from the major region actually bleeding since the 3rd seed from the prior major region would typically win without a sweat thus dropping play-in viewership numbers.

Credit to Suning for picking up their gameplay, but after that Fnatic series, Suning just attacked bot side and Bin stepped up his Top lane discipline for the win, which probably was why Knight got held back.
If Damwon and TES would have met, they weren't going to play through botside as FNC heavily did against TES, that's not how the meta worked and Damwon was playing in their dream meta that played exactly as they did in Summer. The meta was played through top/jg duo with mid controlling the map, this win is an example of that, see how they prioritized top and Ghost is left just to farm with his best champion that has long range and plays safe, only getting ks, because G2 forced plays around bot and he just last hit one of them with that long range R.

What DWG did to g2 was what only one other korean team did which was Griffin at 2019 dismantling g2 and outclassing them mechanically in to back to back games. only difference being that that was in Groupstage.
Gotta say, GRF read and predicted every single micro move G2 players did in those 2 victories at the group stage,
this series was more about laning domination, map awardness and outplaying G2.
Griffin would've destroyed G2 in a BO5 last year, but it's sad Griffin had so many management issues like their head coach getting kicked during Worlds and Sword being a trash player

I'm from EU but after watching the LCK Spring & Summer split i knew DWG would easily go to the Worlds finals and most likely win it all.
This team is so incredibly good, they work so well together and they're all individually very talented players.
I'm specifically happy that Ghost & Beryl are showing up, proving to everyone that DWG's botlane doesn't get carried by their top/jungle/mid.
There hasn't been a team i supported more and im sure they're gonna win it all. It's sad for G2 and EU but DWG isn't the same team from 2019
