Disney Wish Merchandise
The first World of Disney store opened its doors on October 2, 1996 at the Disney Village Marketplace, which is now known as Disney Springs, in Walt Disney World Resort. Spanning approximately 51,000 square feet, it is renowned for offering the largest selection of Disney character merchandise in the world. In 2006, the store underwent a renovation that introduced a princess-themed salon called Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and a children's merchandise area inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean and Stitch. The Boutique was later relocated to Once Upon a Toy store in the Marketplace section as part of the Disney Springs overhaul in 2016.
A second World of Disney store, covering 40,000 square feet, opened on January 1, 2001, coinciding with the inauguration of Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.
On October 5, 2004, a third location was established in a three-story space on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue in New York City. This space was previously occupied by the flagship Disney Store. However, the store closed on December 31, 2009, and was replaced by a traditional Disney Store in Times Square in 2010.
Disney Parks' merchandising department also introduced Disney Vault 28, a high-end apparel store, on October 11, 2006, in Downtown Disney. Unfortunately, Vault 28 ceased operations by the end of September 2017.
Another World of Disney store opened its doors on July 12, 2012, at Disney Village in Disneyland Paris. This store, spanning 1,400 square meters (15,000 square feet), was part of a significant overhaul for the village.
The most recent addition to the World of Disney family is located in the Disneytown area of the Shanghai Disney Resort, and it opened alongside the park's grand opening.
