Episode 2 - Prepping Medical cupboard and Kit overview.

In this episode I give viewers a look into my medical supplies cupboard to show what basic items I store and detail items you might not necessarily realise could be important to stock. I also show you a quick look at my basic kit that could prove vital in the event of a situation where you will not have access to certain items.

The idea of having a book should include writing down what is happening in an emergency situation. How long has someone been fitting, unconscious, had an amputation, crush injury etc. if you have done a first aid course it will make sense.

We are Brits and live in rural southern Spain but we prep the American way with pressure canning, we normally have 200 pint and quart jars in stock but love your vidios

Dental kits temporary fillings and Anbesol pain relief. Also tampons and sanitary pads More as trade items as well as own family use. Didn't see KY jelly, bicarbonate of soda, charcoal tabs but might have been in your boxes. Really good loading though. Great to see a UK preppe r channel! 😎

In your first aid kit include the following dressings: Bactigras and Inadine. These will help to avoid infections. It is best to get both kinds because Inadine contains iodine and not everybody can tolerate iodine on an open wound. For weeping wounds get a calcium alginate dressing such as Kallostat or Cutiderm. These will help stop wounds from weeping excessive moisture which may inhibit wounds healing. Ensure that you have some micropore or silicone tape because not everybody can tolerate ordinary plasters. Also include some Neosporin as a topical antibiotic option. The aim is, wherever possible, to avoid wound infections.

On the medications I always write the expiration date on the packet with a sharpie, on top and side to see easily. Cardboard attracts mice they love it, so either get rid of the cardboard or keep in rodent proof boxes.Mice also hate the smell of peppermint so something with peppermint oil on can be good. You can only get Epi pens in the UK on prescription. Depends on the stock at the pharmacy as to how long the expiration date on epi pens is, so might be a good idea to fill the prescription at a busy pharmacy to lengthen the date.

Thanks rusty, I'm a great believer in investing time now while we have it.
