If he’s a real survivalist, a good one, why not teach that!? Why bullshit people when it’s not even necessary?

The nice thing about Colorado is that if you keep moving down, follow water, you'll eventually hit a road or find people. Unless your leg is disabled and you're in the deepest of the deep wilderness areas it's sort of hard to find yourself in a survival situation aside from somehow being stranded in the worst winter days. There's just too many roads and people moving about.

what Ive really come to appreciate about Les' videos is that he is always respectful to the environment he is in, and gives advice on how to migitate any damage one's prescence could cause (such as when he kicked away the horse manure to protect the native vegetation). @@TheRealJaded 1) its a show, and not a real survival situation. of course i dont mean its shock value when actual people are surviving an extreme situation in reality, and i dont see how a reasonable person could read it that way. really don't get why youre getting agitated.
      2) ive watched other survival shows where the producers clearly cared more about "gross out" content to draw an audience, including the host hunting & killing animals despite not needing to. les does hunt in his show but it never feels like hes doing it for the camera alone, unlike those other shows. all i said was that i appreciate les' respect for the environments he is in, including the animals native to it and doesnt just see them as disposable/food.

I agree with those statements that he's more of an actor in the sense of that it's all scripted but he's still an ex- SAS. That's nothing to scoff at! So I would say alittle more than an actor but nothing close to our Les experience and skill in surviving.

I normally don’t criticize Les Stroud but in this episode he could have tried to rub Dandelion juice onto the Horses 🐎 backs to ward off the Mosquitoes eating them alive. That would have been good.
This is the first time I found that he fell short a bit. The horses are important and need protection.

I was searching for a comment like this! Thank-you for caring. I have gone out bush solo before too and the animals are my first priority, always. Because if you lose them, you're fkd. So many natural bug repellents out there and appreciate his work, dude is badass, and respect for leaving the baby birds, but yeah need to protect the animals better. A simple oversight makes the world of difference for them. Take care mate (sorry I know this is old, just really valued your advice and concern for the horses 👍)
