  • This All About video is all about the Charlotte NC Fire Department and the addition of new, 100 foot mid-mount platforms to their apparatus fleet. Over the last 25 years, the Charlotte Fire has purchased nearly identical aerial ladders for the departments ladder companies. However, in 2022, the department departed from the rear mount straight stick aerial and purchased the first of 4 mid-mount platforms. This change was to diversify their ladder fleet and not a complete change. This video discusses the new apparatus, including some of the reasons, as well some possible future acquisitions. Sources of photos and information for this video included the City of Charlotte and the Charlotte Fire Department, including their 2000 Millennium History Book, Legeros Fire Blog, Charlotte F.D. Trucks, the #1 source for Charlotte Fire Department apparatus and Atlantic Coast Fire Trucks.

Thanks for the upload as always I appreciate your videos especially Charlotte FD!👨‍🚒🚒 Have you ever considered doing a video on the standard ladders? Just a suggestion nothing more or less. also, did you ever figure out or make any progress on the production of a video about fire alarm? One last thing do you happen to know if ladder 20 was approved for this current budget cycle? I thought that it was, but I am not positive. I know they are wanting to add ladder 17 at some point as well, but that is further in the future than later 20 from my understanding. However, I was not able to find any concrete information on a start date for ladder 20. This goes without saying but keep up the great work and content you are one of my favorite channels on CZcams. I appreciate all you do for the channel. Enjoy your weekend and take care.⭐️🇺🇸🚒👨‍🚒

I have a video on Charlotte's "standard" engines and ladders in progress. You should see it soon. And the City did approved three new ladders for the coming fiscal year, one for the new station 45, as well as one at 20 and 17. 17 is supposed to eventually get a tower. I'm still working on a bunch of other videos.
