      Jack has his RWI fleet supported by Venom RCSP and Craz CNL fleets. Lore wise RWI is large interdependent corporation being core point of his videos, with RCSP being general purpose hardware provider, so they stuff end being used by all random factions in Jack series and CNL stuff tend to blow up (because Craz). You can find majority of that on Jack channel. GDA use Arron Drones and modified RCSP Destroyers, lore wise stolen from they shipyard (or CNL as I don't remember). DRF and INIC were factions from old Arron, Sage and Tazzo Joint Survival series and as such belong to this channel, just were provided for crossover series with Jack. DRF used primarily Arron Drones and ships of other players, most prominently Pabble who was member of Jack team. So its status is lets say, up to debate. INIC technically didn't have fleet with they stuff being made in flow, but now they get it as donation from members.

    @dattroll2019 Před 3 lety

    based on my knowledge of ship classification:
    goblin: frigate
    hammerhead: either cruiser or battlecruiser
    mako: destroyer
    carrier: battleship-carrier hybrid (mainly because of the unrealistic amount of missile turrets it has that wouldn't allow for it to be classified as a normal carrier)

  • @TheRezro
    @TheRezro Před 4 lety +13

    In my classification:
    1) Defensive Fighter. Small agile short range fighter, used as defense of larger units.
    2) (Light) Attack Gunship. Specialized in destroying enemy defenses.
    3) (Heavy) Assault Gunship. Specialized in delivery and defense of shock troopers.
    4) Artillery Destroyer. Due to strong focused attack and relatively compact size.
    5) Cruiser-Carrier. Quite universal design comparable to Jack's Dedalus-class.
    6) Battlecruiser? Yes, it definitely isn't regular cruiser.
    7) Battle-Carrier aka nonsense. Sorry, it is just my personal hate to ships like that.
    I will say that this fleet feel like something designed by corporation, according to rules of Galactic Empire. So even if I would complain about many aspects of it, I can't deny that it scream INIC, so if that was intended then no reason to complain. I think you could make use of the proper Attack Fighter, but you don't really need it in current setup. Just I personally would prioritize it over Light Gunship. Props for double window, even if those ships lack proper CIC's. But again. It is what I would expect from INIC.

    • @ultmateragnarok8376
      @ultmateragnarok8376 Před 4 lety

      I prefer a class of ship that I call the 'fleetship' over a battlecarrier. Instead of a carrier with guns, it's a battleship with more varied weapons and a carrier purpose, sort of an all-purpose flagship. Anything dedicated to a single purpose would be better at that but likely worse at the others.
      Also, I think there's little difference between a cruiser and an artillery destroyer other than range and size, which isn't always consistent. In space, cannons and rockets shouldn't have much of a range limit. Cruisers tend to be high-damage craft, they can't take damage as well as bigger ships or move as fast as smaller ones, but they can deal back anything that doesn't immediately destroy them,

    • @TheRezro
      @TheRezro Před 4 lety

      @@ultmateragnarok8376 There are reasons why there are no main guns on carriers. Fighters are extremely fragile and any damage taken by carrier would wreck them. For same reasons there is no point of equipping battleship in additional explosives in form of the fighters. It sort of can pass in case of Cruiser-Carrier because Cruisers also should generally avoid taking damage. But idea of Battle-Carrier is idiotic (and term "fleetship" make no sense as there is few types of ships designed purely for fleet operations, like for example Destroyers. And Fleet Carrier is completely separate category). You also don't understand what word flagship mean, so don't use it. You have fleet exactly for that purpose to one type of ship compensating for another. Because something good for everything is usually not good for anything. Also cruisers are functionally paralel to Frigates, not Destroyers. In opposition to them they are designed for independent operations. So please. I don't want be asshole, but you literally waste my time. Also you confuse Cruiser and Battlecruiser, on top of this whole confusion.

    • @ultmateragnarok8376
      @ultmateragnarok8376 Před 4 lety

      Something with larger guns and carrier capabilities doesn't need to have them near each other. On any realistic ship they wouldn't be, for the reasons you described, among others. The carrier capabilities aren't the focus of the craft, but simply another capability of it. A true carrier would outperform a multipurpose ship, but in some ways it is better and in some ways worse, depending on the ship, how it's used and how it's designed.
      Fleetship is a placeholder name that stuck, it's not made to _replace_ the fleet, merely support most aspects of it. With that, they would tend to act as flagships, but it's not required of them (and I do know what a flagship is, by the way). Yes, the rest of the fleet supports each other in their own dedicated roles, and you can never truly have everything in one, but it provides assistance to them all. You wouldn't want a ship like that trying to take too much damage, anyways, making it quite capable for carrier capabilities. Battlecarriers don't work because the two have nearly opposite roles which interfere with each other, so one needs to be focused on.
      I was mistaken on the cruiser/battlecruiser part, which was the cause of both that misunderstanding and the function parallel one.

    • @josephcopple3152
      @josephcopple3152 Před 4 lety

      First thing I personally believe Battle Carriers are the opposite of nonsense & secondly my signature Space Engineers ship will be designed to do anything & everything plus if I can get away with it add as many mods to it that if it were human it would be a mega-sized hunk of muscle & brain with STEROIDS for blood.

  • @gregoirelenoel507
    @gregoirelenoel507 Před 4 lety

    Ok so for classification, based on historical doctrines, frigate is a small yet manoeuvrable, fast, multipurpose medium tonage ship with long range capacity (bigger than corvette wich role is to patrol and recon near fleet and bases, slightly more armed, better range, capacity to be autonomous in most situations exccept big battles), whereas destroyer is to protect the core fleet from small ships with torpedo capacity (torpedo-boat destroyer originaly in the Royal Navy, Contre-torpilleur/counter torpedo-boat in french fleet) wich means the destroyer doesn't need multi-purpose neither long range capacity yet can have it to escort long range fleet-group, and mostly carries small artillery and small DCA being agile enought to make its small artillery hit small torpedo ships. Then, cruisers are ships able to cruise with long range and mostly multipurpose capacity yet in between the heavy tonnage and the frigate: long range, multi purpose, small protection and good anti-fighter capacity, medium class weaponery. Then, ships of the line are the heavyly armed ships, wich heirs were battleships with heavy armor and heavy guns yet lesser manoeuvrability. Then, the battlecruiser is a ship with battleship class weaponery yet lesser armor for same propulsive power so that the inertia is lesser and both speed and manoeuvrability increase: it is to hit the battleship and run before the battleship can react, with a chance to damage the battleship. It is not meant to survive heavy fire howether, whereas the battleship is to be resilient to heavy fire a certain amount of time before cease function.
    Would the multipurpose gunship have torpedo capacity, it would be basically the kind of ship the destroyer is conceived to counter.
    The designs here are all correct in their conception, since they seem well complementary to each other, and each one functionnal. Each one has been conceive with a role or a set of roles and is capable to fullfill them. The coherent aesthetic is a plus that also works.

    Rule of thumb for ship classification: Cruisers are the largest ships of a navy (excluding carriers), then destroyers are the next biggest, then you have frigates, which should be your main battleship, then corvettes are mainly for patrol.

    I think the problem with a lot of ships is that and even though it’s almost critical to the look the bridge. If your a bomber or a fighter trying to take on one of these the first thing your going to target is the bridge so I think it’s really smart most of these ships have back up cockpits

    the Goblin I would likely classify as a corvette. Corvettes are usually scouts or screening craft for larger ships like destroyers
    Hammerhead would easily be a destroyer. Destroyers usually are the more armored between themselves and corvettes and obviously outfitted with weapons to blow up larger ships, hence the name.
    Mako MK II would definitely be a cruiser. Cruisers usually are meant to be fast patrol ships, hence "cruise" but in combat roles fit well as heavier weapons platforms than destroyers.
    the last one (not sure if the name was mentioned, but it is definitely a well armed light carrier.
    A full "fleet carrier" would be much larger and would be able to deploy ships like the condor
    However, light carriers are still an incredibly good fleet asset to have.
    None of these really classify as a battleship as a battleship is very much a massive weapons platform.

    The carrier design is interesting, personally instead of having such a long tunnel I'd go for a top half tunnel and have the fighters stick off on the sides while having the top covered. I'd still keep the back portion of the hangar acting as the fully covered bastion so at least 1/3 of the total fighters can still dock after the battle and do rotations for resupply if more fighters actually survive.

    A lot of the problems I'm seeing is that the cargo / hangar bays are located on the underside. If they get knocked out, then it removes the crew's ability to get off the ship when needed, and limits the fighters abilities to remain in good form. Perhaps with the hammer head the hangar could be towards the end, where you'd expand the engines at the front.

    Capital ships classes go:
    Escorts (Frigate, which is sometimes a very cheap light cruiser, and Destroyer, from torpedo boat destroyer, meant to protect larger ships.)
    Light Cruisers (Scouts and convoy escorts)
    Cruisers (Workhorse of the fleet, but not meant to engage in a multi-ship battle)
    Heavy Cruisers (Good for smashing cruisers, can engage in large multi ship battles, but not its ideal place)
    Battlecruisers (weapons of a Battleship, but the speed and cost of a cruiser, basically a pocket battleship)
    Battleship (Ships meant to engage other capital ships, and win. Mainly used for ship vs ship fights)
    Carrier (Meant to stay away from fights, they only carry fighters into a battle, meaning if a fighter is lost, it is still cheaper than loosing a capital ship)
    The Goblin-class sounds like it is meant to be a battlecruiser, but compared to the Hammerhead, I would call it a heavy cruiser
    The Hammerhead-class (Which looks amazing inside) I would guess would be a Battlecruiser.
    The Mako-class (Best exterior of the bunch) Is definitely a Battleship. Hand down.
    The Carrie, which I didn't catch the name of, definitely seems to be a carrier, so despite Shook's (Did I spell that right?) claimed lack of knowledge regarding ship classes, it seems to fit to a tee.
    All in all, the ships look amazing. I really need to get better at Space Engineers, so I can build like this. Shook, don't let anyone tell you to stop.
    Quick note, INIC seems to be lacking in lighter Capital ships, like destroyers, light cruisers and the like. Does Shook intend to build an escort class?

      you forgot corvette class in there as well... which fall in a similar line to frigates... but are slightly smaller... also dont remember which, but either the frigate or corvette tend to be more specialized for specific roles or missions, where as the other is a general multi-role gap filler
      also there is the dreadnaught class ships, which simply put expand on the battleships on a much bigger scale...
      keep in mind that universe changes the size of some of these ships.. example would be babylon 5 vs warhammer 40k...

      Dreadnought is historically a type of battleship, the opposite of the pocket battleship. And corvettes (which I forgot about, thanks) are the specialised one.
      Most Sci-fi universes have a similar scale of capital ships, with a cruiser smaller than a battlecruiser, a battle cruiser smaller than a battleship, etc.

    • @TheRezro
      @TheRezro Před 4 lety

      Eghm... Escort Destroyer, just Cruiser (light/heavy is dated distinction), and Carriers have actually few sizes. Goblin is a Destroyer, Hammerhead a Cruiser-Carrier (real thing), Mako either Battleship or Battlecruiser (it depend on mobility/armor) and last one is Battle-Carrier (so something only Galactic Empire consider as a thing). This design actually fit someone like INIC.

    • @TheRezro
      @TheRezro Před 4 lety

      @@mikewhitaker2880 It is the Corvette. Corvette are smallest fully capable warships (aka oversize Gunboats) usually used for strictly specific purposes. Frigates most commonly are used for projection of power, so basically being everywhere and being good enough in everything not worthy of the Cruiser. Dreadnoughts on the other hand aren't real ship class. Just common name used for especially large Battleships (or such equipped in siege canons). Class describe function, not size.

    • @TheRezro
      @TheRezro Před 4 lety

      @@Charclone Historically capital ships were classified not by size, but by speed. What become irrelevant with development of submarines and aircraft's. In short:
      - Light Cruiser was basically a oversize frigate. They were used for scouting behind enemy lines and usually were too poorly armed for actual combat, but were fastest.
      - (Regular) Cruisers were used to cut enemy supply lines.
      - Heavy Cruisers were used against armed convoys.
      - Armored Cruisers aka Pocket Battleships were heaviest from proper cruisers.
      - Battlecruisers despite name were actually Battleships, with exceptionally strong engines. As such they could operate independently hunting down cruisers. Battlecruiser HMS Hood was actually third largest Battleship ever made. Modern Kirov-class is forth.
      - Dreadnought's were actually lighter and faster then most ships of they time, keeping or even exceeding they firepower. It is because armor was moved inside, protecting critical parts of the ships. All modern Battleships were build that way.
      - Ironclads were super heavy, super clunky early Battleships.
      Nowadays all that is absolutely irrelevant.
