I still have a Mazda MX6 with a ton of miles on it. Even with no mods it still seems really fast. These cars are now pretty hard to find, but sometimes pretty cheap if you do find one. IMO never buy an automatic version.
Still have my '94- 6 LS,..mostly stock but with a custom CAI, upped to 16" Mille Miglia Rims and boots and RSTB.. Bought leftover/New @ 350km, now at 146K kms and still running great. Love this thing...for kicks and giggles...!! Still gets looks too..!!
@@283AngelArch it's a built trans and has been fairly reliable for years. The engines on the other hand have been gone through more times than I can count haha. Super quick car.

I have a 2nd gen mx6 as my first car, got it when I was 16 too. Its a pretty good first car considering how reliable it has been. I have a full mazdaspeed kit ready to go on now

***** Possibly, The US/UK speck KLDE with 164 HP runs a 15 flat from factory. The typical bolt-on's get you into the 14's. So I'm thinking about 400hp would be getting it in the high 12's.
kstaats13 would have to be the klde.. klze couldn't really handle a turbo for very long. i one a mx6 but it is not in this good of shape.. i wish it was :(
***** The KLZE has been boosted by many people with no issues. The ZE can't handle as much boost, so they either keep it turned down, or, swap the springs and retainers to the DE ones which are stronger and are better at holding the boost.
My first car was a mx6 with the 4 banger. I put that car thru hell and it laughed at me. I think back to that car all the time.

This is an rtr tuning session with franks car right at 500 hp on 17 pounds but this video was 13 pounds at 449 hp

its a fine first car, 164 HP is pretty modest by modern standards, the turbo'd one in this video would post much higher numbers

This mx6 I believe has the KLDE 2.5 V6.
The MX6 carries the 2.5 KLDE v6 stock. He looks to have the Jspec KLZE intake, if not the entire 2.5 ZE motor which puts down 198hp vs the DE's 164hp.
