Goalkeepers and attackers get the most credit, it's defenders and midfielders (especially defensive ones) who don't.

I think all player deserve credit, but you got a point, goalies do go through pressure, and I myself have been goalie for a whole season once and it’s hard work. Strikers do hard working kicks and score points, midfield mostly brings up the ball and shoots most corners or can shoot, they also run up and down the field which is hard work, and defenders have to defend good and hard players in order to have extra protection.
