The biggest question is where the Rotten got another cleaver from.
He might make it out of his body, or he might pull it out of his ass 🙄
probably he has a bunch of cleaver's inside of him...
The answer for that and more questions is ... Time is convulted
That's why it takes so long for the arms to reform, the undead inside are furiously forging another one.
@@Nebras-yc4sp undead buttplug?
I feel bad for the last giant, he looks like he's about to completely fall apart
Same honestly I feel bad for all the giants in ds2. But I always thought that killing the "last giant" was more of a mercy killing then slaying an adversary at equal or greater strength.
same here. sometimes i really feel like the villian killing some bosses
@@aaronbozack830 Giants legit got done so dirty man, they’re almost always a slave to another race or get unfairly fucked over.
@@ButterscotchPenguin Yeah for real it's like the only one's that had some semblance of respect or happiness was Hawkeye gough or in dark souls 2 before vendrick invaded and debateable yhorm but even with yhorm most of his kingdom hated him for as mighty as giants are they really do get fucked over the most out of all the races of dark souls.
@@aaronbozack830 I don’t remember vendrick attacking the giants after they invaded drangleic so maybe the giants across the sea aren’t enslaved to anyone but then again they are tree people so what do I know
The Old Giant running up and just getting his arm chooped just stood there like "Ahhhh DANGIT."
Then he jumps back like “It’s just a flesh wound 💪🕳”

Dark souls: you can get weapons from broken limb
Dark souls 2: you can broke boss's limb but there is a no weapon
Dark souls 3: no broken limb whatsoever
You can smash the stray demons legs off on the bridge above the wolf covenant
Sekiro and possibly elden ring: the bosses break your limb instead
@@Trixbeat Elden ring: Bosses can cut of your limbs and stole whatever gear you had equipped there.
Demon’s Souls: cut snake tails off from maneater to prevent pcp injections
Sekiro: You have a broken limb
*Sees the scorpioness*
"Oh shit she's gonna cut the person off."
Seeing the Rotten attempt to attack you with their missing arms is almost as sad as it is funny.
Why's it sad? It's a joke of a boss like all of ds2 bosses lmao
@@JohnDoe-pu5gk I think the ease of the fight makes it sadder, you're just wailing on this conjoined blob of dollmakers who were minding their own business.
@@Depressbian it's already a super easy fight so I fail to make sense from you're comments
Ds1 bosses are even eazier
@@urosopacic1403 lmao at least some of the bosses in ds1 have much better a.i than any of the bosses in ds2 and some of them can be challenging at first esp in the dlc.
you can turn the spider boss immortal if you menage to remove both heads whitout killing it
I thought I heard something about poisonous mist or some thrusting weapons still working.
You can still kill it with shield piercing weapons
The Shotel or Darkdrift can do a number on it even if it does loose both its heads. Trust me, I had to figure that out the hard way.
not immortal, only waaaaay harder to kill, you still can damage her.
Did that my first time playing. Nearly uninstalled after that
I have every tail weapon in DS1, I was really sad when they didn't put them in the later games. Some of those tail cuts are hard and it felt kind of nice to have the weapons. Made me feel special.
Getting the Obsidian Greatsword sucks all the fun out of the Kalameet fight, you have far too few opportunities to hit the tail, and given how he likes to try and face you die to the lack of having attacks to punish those who stay to the side. I get that it's supposed to be a challenging reward, but it goes too far into being a tedious chore that takes a solid fight and sucks all the fun out of it.
I'm so glad that they cut that because the thought of the Frayed Blade coming from cutting off Midir's tail makes me want to throw my controller ot the window. The Midir fight is a masterpiece, but that would make the issues that the Obsidian Greatsword brings to the Kalameet fight look like getting the Dragon King Greataxe from the Gaping Dragon.
The Moonlight Greatsword... dang Seath wont stop turning, trying desperately to face me 😭🖕🏼😡
@@AceAviations2 I'll have you know I have a build that uses the Obsidian Greatsword. I didn't have too many issues with it but then again I've done the fight a *lot*.
Fucking obsidian greatsword was a bitch. Worth it though.
Kalameet's Tail was harder boss than a certain Knight with a broken arm.
Chopping off the Rotten's hands totally trivializes him. He just stands there swinging his stumps.
Only for a brief moment and even without arms he can still do his AoE which is cancer (I have died a lot of times to his AoE while exploiting red tearstone ring)... It not only can be brutally savage, it can also throw you in the middle if one of those fire pools and that usually means death.
@@setsunaes That does happen a lot of times. His AOE is unforgiving lol
Just.... Let those areas go to hell
BLACK GULCH, GUTTER

@@Talking_Ed I beg to differ. Blighttown is SO much better. Loved the area's atmosphee.
@@TechnoGuyGameGod The gameplay at 15 fps max at launch makes it shitty in my opinion.
I like upper blight town, but lower it's just an useless swamp.
The fact that breaking them doesn't give you anything..
Welp "Rotten" drop Pharros stone
@@sera6006 Eh, ds2 does deliberately give you way more boss weapons from souls as compared to 1 so it balances if not gives more. I think it’s still cool that they kept it and it can be useful in some fights
@@sera6006 Ye I know just joking, weapon drops will be motivating

I did not know about the Guardian Dragon. Nice!
It was fairly the most obvious really

I am genuinely terrified that I didn't know about 90% of these.
The reality of being a video game developer. Same as with Mass Effect. I read that about 90% choose the Paragon path, meaning you put in double the work (creating 2 different paths) but only 10% of people who play ever take that route. Sad.
no worries I played game since 2015 never knew this either just happy beating them solo without summon.
Only boss I severed the part off of, that wasn’t the intended phase transition was Sinh, quite surprised just how many bosses actually have it
The DS2 katana moveset was just so fluid. You could string together the moves beautifully. Was the only souls game where I had success with the katana.
Especially the overhead strong attack into the iai slash strong attack.
I feel the same about the whips, I loved using whips in ds2 but they are utter garbage in the other 2 games.
@@LIBERTYorD34TH i actually quite liked them in ds3...meanwhile every other weapon in ds3 felt worse for me
@@Makikakaoco I think the carry over weapons were kinda squishy compared to the previous games, but the new weapons were good, I also think they underestimated how much people really liked the dual wielding options, having paired weapons are better than not at all, but the way ds2 did it was just added so much versatility. But then again I'm a bit of an oddball when it comes to dark souls games, I don't really care for the first one as much as the other two it's just very janky and sloppy feeling compared to the other games, if I had to rank them I'd probably put 3 as my favorite followed by 2 and then 1 at the bottom. I also felt like demons souls was better than dark souls 1.
@@LIBERTYorD34TH yeah I've come to feel my taste in the series is a bit unpopular as well, my favorite is DS2 PVP wise, the other two have far better pve though, more so ds1 for me...ds3 felt....like you were weightless to me. While I liked some of the unique weapons you could find in 3 I really missed being able to parry with almost anything. DS2 dual wielding had a lot of potential and it could have been even better than it already was if it wasnt scrapped in 3 for soul arts which were.....okay it felt lame to restrict a whole part of your moveset to mana, it should have had a cool down type thing instead for them
@@Makikakaoco Im dying to see what Elden Ring does with the "classic" fromsoft formula.
I never knew you could knock off the Last Giant's injured arm. That's amazing, it totally prevents him from going into his second phase.
Kinda disappointing to see you cutting off all these arms, tails, etc, and not getting a single weapon being dropped. I so expected something from the slumbering dragon!
You do get a lockstone if you cut Rottens left arm off.
@@draw2death421 in ds1 you always get some weapon for cutting tails.
yea but in most cases here they give you an advantage in the fight, restricting some attacks from the bosses.

This is literally monster hunter
I love the fact that its a central feature of Monster Hunter.
At least in monster hunter world you get a hecking item for doing so
At least you can carve their tail for material
In Monster Hunter some monsters can be actually affected by breaking or cutting some of their parts, it is very rewarding the feedback of the franchise

We interrupt your Dark Souls 2 to bring you Monster Hunter
I remember feeling the need to cut off all tails in ds1 just to find out you can't cut off manus's tail....😞
It was bad enough cutting Kalameet's tail Manus would have been a nightmare. Besides, he was a primordial man, so it wouldn't be like a cool dragon weapon or anything. Probably would have been a less than decent whip weapon like the Sanctuary Gaurdian tail.
Whoa I actually didn't know about some of these
You practically played soccer with the spiders head lol
Joke of a boss
@@JohnDoe-pu5gk why do you go on ds2 videos to just hate on the game? Your comment history is really sad
If your damage is sufficiently low, you can rip both of Freya's heads before her HP is fully depleted, making the boss unkillable.
Not Really, you can still use Armor/Shields piercing weapons Like Shotel to Damage Freja
Why does every nub think that? Almost like the internet or Google was never invented.
I literally said "no way" when you got to Ancient Dragon. And was disappointed. :(
I didn't know about most of them! Dark Souls 2 is truly the best Souls.
Wouldn’t go that far 😂 but yeah it’s a great game I really don’t see why people hate it.
If im being honest... i think Dark Souls 2 had the best lighting out of all Souls.
It’s my favorite but what is best for you is def subjective
@@draw2death421 yeah, the yellow filter in 3 and blue in Bloodborne is really weird

Feel bad for giants though, like they were peaceful or whatever until vendrick fucked them over by invading them, stole something of great importance, and even took many of them as captives, experimented on them(in one of the Aldia keep's room, you'll find like dozens of brutalized giants dead bodies, squashed like some trash, golems was created from their souls which can be extracted only after killing them, they were tortured as captives and even in death, their souls were experimented on, used to create golems and an ancient dragon. When they tried to take revenge and get their stolen stuff back, an unknown hero came and fucked them over again, and got their king captivated for a very long time. And then ultimately slaughtered him.
“Aw what am I gonna do for phase 2 now!”
- Last Giant
That’s hilarious that you can cut off the rotten’s arms and make him just swing nubs at you
If you get some housing in Elden ring they should add a room for the tails and limbs trophie collection.
I feel like the tail on the ancient dragon was meant to come off, when he dies it looks like the tail is a separate model
Maybe it was, sometimes you can spend the entire fight attacking only the tail and not having it get cut off
The only one of these I found out about on my own was The Rotten, my friend told me there were no tail cut items in DS2 and 3 so I never bothered trying to intentionally do it.
so good to see ppl still playing and also seeing things i didnt know!
It's so obvious they intended all of them to drop weapons from their tail but due to the nightmarish development and the change of directors they dropped the loot part (most blatent exemple being Nashka having no drop for her tail but 20m after her boss room in a chest is a scorpion sting rapier...
Honestly, Ancient Dragon has to be the most DRAGON looking dragon in the entire souls series. If that makes sense.
Excuse me sir but midir is the best dragon in the entire ds series. Not too hard, not too easy, lots of movesets. Overall a perfect boss fight.
@@user-yy3ki9rl6i I didn’t say anything about AD being the best. Just that he looks the most like the kind of dragon everyone is familiar with.
I think the Eternal/Stone dragon in Ash Lake from ds1 had the most dragon aesthetic out of all of them with AD being a close second. Kalameet was pretty good too except for the head, but otherwise had a very Medieval feel to it. The Hellkite Wyvern looked pretty dragon-y as well, but that was a drake not a dragon so it didn't count.
@@thekaz5225 drake's don't have wings though
The transition between the clips are very well done. Good job!
The fact that they added so many tail-cuts in DS2, and yet there are no tail weapons, both confuses and enrages me.
I'm pretty sure it's yet another part of the game they didn't have time to finish cause of deadlines/last minute redesigns. It's clear they *wanted* to do it, just like they *wanted* the map to look and feel consistent initially.
@@jorlok_zander Coding in a weapon drop should be a relatively quick thing though.
@@are3287 Yeah but they would have had to make a unique weapon for each drop. Like I would love an ultra greatclub giant arm but I imagine that would take time to make.
DS1: rewards you for the effort of cutting bodyparts with cool weapons
DS2: "best I can do is *rock* "
I wish DS2 would've used the tail cutting giving you a weapon mechanic like DS1
The Rotten's stumps still have hitboxes when he attacks, believe it or not. The damage and knockback are greatly reduced, but he'll still do some damage if he hits you with them. Stay alert.
Holy shXt, I knew the Last giant ripped off his own arm, but never did I realize you can cut it off! That's actually really awesome
Holy crap, it's possible to cut of both Arms of the Rotten???
It gave me several rage attacks trying to beat it...
As a Monster Hunter player, and a Greatsword main at that, I miss this feature in DS1 and DS2.
The joy of cutting limbs is so satisfying and I'm still disappointed that they didn't brought the feature back in Elden Ring.
I didnt know you could cut limbs/tails in DS2
You cutting the spider head off and playing soccer with it had me fucking rolling. My ribs has left the orbit
*Proof of a Hero starts blaring*
Didn't know about Mytha, nice
The ancient dragon got so annoyed about someone hitting his tail so he decided to die
Those souls, though! You're amazing.
I swear you have 99 adaptability or something. The way your hotbox isn't catching some of these hits is insane
Very cool compilation. Great job.
Imagine all the cool/unique weapons we could have gotten from these if the devs had a little more time :c
Also, beautiful hitbox at 3:03
If they had a bit more time and the development wouldn't have changed (the team decided to change it or the leading manager was changed) the game would have been more beatiful and more full, more finnished. It was supposed to be like demon's souls warping mechanic, bit they changed it, so world layout started to make less and less sense (most famous being earthen peak taking an elevator at the top to go higher up and end up in a place sinking in lava) you could find more if you want if you watch illusory wall's videos dark souls 2 disected, the best and saddest is "how gutter got gutted"
@@ruslinis1396 Isnt part of the souls lore that the world really isnt supposed to make sense?
@@nathanpapp432 No no, it was added in the third game, all landmasses are coming to the same place, but it all should make sese physicaly. You can also watch illusory wall's videos of dark souls disected about Lordran and Lothric's maps
This would've made Elden Ring so much better. Imagine being able to cut the grafted dragon from Godrick's arm using skill and that was how you unlocked his weapon. We gotta stop settling for less because of flashy graphics
1:18 i absolutly loved how you played soccer with freja's head
Before your attack: The Rotten
After your attack: The Thumb
A shame this feature got left out of ds3 and er. It made the boss fights feel so much blander
Real missed opportunity here, could’ve at least had their severed limbs drop something valuable like a humanity or titanite.
Never expected we could take off The Last Giant and The Rotten's arms.
Ray dhimitri coming up on my feed again, looks like it might be time for another ds2 playthrough
Ha, you got me good with the ancient dragon!
how someone say DS2 is bad game - DS and DSR - cutable tails for weapons, DS2 - cutable tails and hads for effect, DS3 - nothing
Wow, i didn't know that was possible! How cool! Love the immersion even if doesn't have any other effect.
I may not like The Duke's Drar Freja, but kicking their head off the cliff was uncalled for.
Omg, i feel those bosses are so cute after watching this video
Yeah I have so many hours in DS2 and SotFS. Yet I never noticed this with any boss exept for The Rotten.
lmfao dude just cut The Last Giant's arm like it was fucking butter, and the "THUMP" song too is hilarious
Ancient Dragon probably doesn't have a tail cut since its an artificial creature mimicking a dragon, not an actual dragon.
ancient dragon tail is super wiggly
Damn I see a lot of wasted potential for many of those parts-cutting
I've never managed to get the Rotten's arm off.
I saw that the last giant might be mad af because he recognizes you when you beat his ass in the fight in the memory
I didn't know you could cut arms off the rotten and the last giant, that's pretty cool
The ancient dragon could be like Seath and you can only cut the tip off
I doubt it but y’know there is the possibility
Im still pretty sad that they removed some enjoyable features from ds3
Us:* panic at the spider boss fight*
Her:* rolls head*
While breaking off limbs doesn't directly get you anything, you do remove several possible attacks. So there's that I suppose.
I've played too much mnster hunter for my first thought to be "I need to find a moment to carve it later" lmao
Love it keep making ds2 videos bruhh
Wth, I've fought The Rotten so many times when grinding souls early game and had NO IDEA you could literally disarm him... Too bad he grows those limbs back
Ancient dragon makes sense since it’s supposed to kill you if you attack it’s tail
He played football with Freja.. this man has no limits.
*Breaks limb
DS2: Well what do you want, a medal?
You do get an essier fight since they can still try to attack with severed limbs
It’s cool that the Rotten grows new arms, but it would be awesome if the chopped off arms acted independently
600 hours of ds2 and never thought najka could have her tails cut
Dark Souls 2 now looks like Elden Ring 64
The fact that none of the tails give you weapons makes me sad :(
I like how The Rotten seems as surprised you can chop his limbs off as you are
Nice video! Didnt know that and Ds2 is my favorite!
I never knew that you could knock of the Last Giant's arm!
I'm actually glad none of these drop weapons. It's cool that they implemented limb cuts as a strategic option for fights (though I do feel none of the bosses in DS2 have enough health to warrant going out of your way for it), but the ease of getting limb cuts directly correlates with weapon choice, so collecting limb cut items in DS1 could be made an absolute pain in the ass if you decided on a build not too suited for it. It's a cool detail, but I'd rather the weapons just be relegated to boss souls so I don't have to intentionally cuck myself in a fight to not miss out.
Tis but a scratch!
The Rotten's movements are so creepy crawly. The people on his bottom move their wiggly arms and legs to make him move.
fun fact about the dukes spider, if you cut one head off and then heal it you can actually cut the other head off without killing it, it'll just stomp around and be pretty unkillable
Imagine in DS2, getting a severed limb or all limbs to get cut off sends them into a slight berserking phase, increased attack speed, always trying to get melee instead of using ranged attacks.
1:53 you could say he is Disarmed
