California icon Huell Howser discusses California's Gold Scholarship he established at Chapman University in Orange, CA, during a rooftop event at his beloved El Royale in Los Angeles. Mr. Howser explains that his idea of "California's Gold" is living the dream, and he saw that in Chapman students. Imagine having the works of an insightful and gifted photojournalist who had thoroughly traveled the state a century ago, capturing the experiences and perspectives of Californians in their day-to-day lives. That'll be Huell and California's Gold a century from today, treasured chronlcles of a generation in our state's social history.
Thank you so much for publishing this very well made footage! I love that downtown is in the background and I got to see what seems like a very recent image of him. Videolog was always a neat show and I enjoyed watching it while in high school in the 80's - and I stuck with him during the rest of his career. THANK YOU!
