- Patti LaBelle & Loretta Devine play longtime best friends who have come together to attend a high school class reunion in this clip of an episode of the early 90s sitcom 'Out All Night'. At the reunion, Loretta Devine joins Patti LaBelle on stage in singing "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" which was originally recorded by The Shirelles in 1960. Also, Patti sings the finale, her classic song "You Are My Friend". The closing segment of the show also features Patti singing that song. Airdate of this episode January 28, 1993. Good Times fans will recognize Bookman (B Buffalo Butt) as he was called by Willona & others on GT) in this clip (actor Johnny Brown). Beverly Johnson also makes an appearance. Also appearing: Morris Chestnut, Vivica A. Fox, Betty Bridges-Nicasio, Gail Neely, and Leon Morenzi.

Loretta's current show on Netflix, Family Reunion, is like this. It makes me very nostalgic. I'm sad that it's heading into it final season after only 3.
It's sad we don't have shows showcasing talent like this anymore. Thank goodness for CZcams, at least there's been a way to preserve these images and moments in quality black entertainment.

This episode was so emotional. It was based on Patti's real life and I felt she saying you are my friend as if she was singing in to her sister Jackie who technically died some years prior. Patti had a lot of raw emotions for years over that

@Aduel Hall..I was fortunate enough to see all of "Out All Night" being recorded Live back in 1993.
Concerning, this particular Episode, I have it in my Procession. On VHS.. It was Mastered by the Producers and personally given to me via Request Patti LaBelle.
This Show was abruptly cancel. When it was gaining momentum and had so much free energy, life and attraction to it.
I said the word "life in it", because so many competitive stars from other movie sets at that time, were happy to sit in the Live audience just to get a glimpse at the Actors/ress and actually mingle with them.
I do remember most involved with the production of this show state many times that: " They have NEVER worked on a show where they felt at so at ease and anxious to come to work..this was a great and short lived period.
I remember this show in the early 90s. Vivica was the cutest thing to pop on the scene. She didnt need to change a thing.
All this black excellence under one roof is epic. I didn't even know it back then at 9yrs old

One of the originals of the 1980 stage play “DreamGirls” the beautiful songstress Loretta Devine. Sheryl Lee Ralph (Moesha mom) and Jennifer Holiday topped of that show on Broadway. A great cast of performers.

"Chelsea you're singing to loud, your too big your showing off" Patti stating in her autobiography "Don't Block the Blessings Revelations of a Lifetime" (great book!) That she had a similar conversation with Dionne Warwick when they and Gladys Knight did the special "Sisters in the Name of Love"
When she says these lines I felt them come from her heart from a place of truth.
