- The Moto Morini X-Cape 650X was developed with the sole aim of taking down the likes of the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the Suzuki VStrom 650 XT. It has an extensive list of premium components to back that claim and extend its capability beyond any other middleweight ADV in this segment. But is it a case of too good to be true or a true blue giant killer staking its claim to the middleweight ADV crown? Sarge kicks up some dirt to find out.

Its surprisingly very manageable. I have ridden it in the off-road event and felt so at home doing obstacles. Hope they support it with good after sales. Of that happens, its just a no brainer in the segment.

Yes as you clearly brought out ... Service backup is a concern and as compared to Kawa V650... which is a tried, tested and trusted workhorse... it is still a tough decision to chose XCape over V650.

Do you remember a guy asked you a question which bike is this when you were trying to take some cool jump shots on Bavdhan tekdi in Pune with your photographer and I was strolling down there with my mother on my way back downhill. Good to see the brand finally and the work you have put in your review and the great coverage. There was no one on the tekdi then and you had answered me with this brand name saying its a new Italian brand.

This bike have done pretty well in uk and bulgaria and other eastern european countries. They are pretty reliable provided services network is adequate

I have one and am pretty happy with it. As a guy with a 30” inseam its one of the only ADV’s on the market that I can ride.

Excellent review Sarge. 7.5 lakh is too tall a pricing for the specs on offer, especially when USD, steel braided lines and decent equipment is on offer for ADVs sold here in India in the sub-middle weights. The right pricing would have been 6.3 lakh IMHO, but the bike commands a presence of its own.
None of the other bikes in this category offer fully adjustable forks and tubeless spoke rims. The vstrom 650 does but costs almost 2L more

The X cape from motomorini is a fantastic bike, it looks good, almost like a smaller ducati maultistrada, then it also have good level of features and equipments. Also for a 230 kg bike its surprisingly good at off road as well . where the X cape could have been improved is in terms of engine power. Slightly more power should have been given considering the weight.
Overall the Xcape is an all round ADV bike. Ita good package.

Hey, these advs are desired to have spokes wheels. When you are riding quite far from your nearest garage, you will be in big trouble if you encounter puncture right? I mean I have ridden motorcycle and scooter for days without knowing nails stuck in my tyres.
These spoke wheels fit tubeless tyres

For Moto Morini I feel it will take a ton of efforts to dislodge something like a Versys or V-strom.

I love this sheer pace you put a bike thru. I am surprised at the fact that you threw the bike around dirt quite hard and never mentioned about the weight of the crash guard and no nuts loose too. For a chinese brand- Damnnn. Love you Sarge.

⭕The meter console design is impressive especially when it changes it to off-road mode the rpm meter becomes the design of off-road tyres.
⭕ Indeed, the company has to provide the service network across India at least in major cities later they should spread it more if seriously considering the Indian market.

Edit :- even the newcomers introducing amazing features at minimal price tag why don't the other companies consider for a change and bring their successful machines from the international market (my opinion).
Still honda can't justify their 650's prices , but i agreed their engine reliability and low maintenance cost compared to other manufacturers.
Yes it does come with rubber pads for the pegs. New companies have to offer more to take on established players hence the competitive pricing

And i think reliability is no longer a break through factor now because most manufacturer now have strigent quality and production management owing to fierce competition.
The fact that you haven't pointed a single deal breaking Negative, shows how good the product is.....Have seen it live, great presence....hope there are enough takers.
In India service network and parts availability always prioritised before product.
The only problem I had with it was the heat because of the radiator fan. But a pretty solid first impression otherwise

But this isn't a Kawasaki engine so can't comment on the reliability unless we get this as a long termer

How did you cope with your injuries Sarge? mentally I mean.
Recently had a disc injury which has made it very difficult to ride or drive anything.
My biggest motivation after getting injured was to recover as quickly as possible to get back on the bike
Thank you for the review. Currently there is relatively little content on this motorcycle. It is certainly a question of who wants to drive the bike and where. In my opinion, it is rather something for posers. Optics is good - reminds of Ducati. Engine is much too weak for the weight and overall I think it is poorly balanced. COG is too high and therefore not a good offroad bike. And in comparison, it is too expensive in my opinion.
