    Another great video!
I struggled with “which one” as well. I was initially drawn to the chrome red as I think it’s super classic looking. This is my first motorcycle (at 47), and I started to feel a bit self conscious as a new rider and I’m a bit modest so I worried the red chrome would draw a whole lot more attention than I might want as new rider.
I ended up choosing the grey for a few reasons. There was an old BSA I fell in love when I was a younger lad that was a faded grey color. I tried my hardest to get the fella to sell it to me but with no success. It always stuck with me as the one that got away. I also like older British bike in grey, I think it looks cool as they age and get some wear on them. They have a utilitarian look about them.
They just started selling the bullet stateside right after I bought mine. I do think the black bullet with a classic solo seat would be a handsome looking ride.
Got notice that’s my motorcycle will delivered on April 2nd. I’ll be sure to send you a picture when I get it.
It will have the matte black engine, but I added the Hitchcocks stainless exhaust to it. I think it looks very nice, and a bit unique among classic 350’s.
Keep up the great work, always look forward to your vids!!

I'm in my late 70's and never been done for speeding and never had a accident, so i'm doing something right with regards to speed. Hi Keith, another great honest video, expect the 20 mph towns and villages in due course, a I told you both France and Spain already have adopted the equivalent 30 kmph.
My 'local dealer' for both my Bonneville and the Royal Enfield is about an hour and a quarter away in a city called Reus near Tarragona, I'm up in the mountains/wilds of Catalunya, but Tarragona is equivalent to a county in area under which my village/house comes into. The bike shop (MotoReus) doesn't do test rides and indeed this seems to be the norm for cars at other garages as well, certainly when I bought my Land Rover Freelander 12 years ago anyway.
My BSA as you put up on the screen is a1960 500cc twin called a Shooting Star - hence SS, in its day it was a sports bike and it was road tested, by The Motor Cycle magazine in 1960 at 98 mph. I used to see just over 100mph on the speedo with my chin on the tank, but in those days I weighed about 9 stone soaking wet. As a young apprentice I worked a 55 hour week for about £7-10s after stoppages and couldn't afford a new machine so it was bought secondhand in 1967. I cost me then £89 Ray Fisher who had a bike shop in Christchurch where I bought it now runs Britbits selling new parts for old British bikes and he's always saying he would give me that amount now for it, I won't tell you my reply. As my only means of transport for many years it was used and abused in all weathers and cleaned on a Sunday morning if it wasn't raining, lots of polishing required. Now it's much loved and cosseted toy used on high days and holidays, but until recently I was going to have a viking burial with it. That is until my very young grandson said he likes it. My late wife always said that I loved the bike more than her, that was something never disagreed with.
So if the chrome and red classic 350cc I've ordered ever arrives then cleaning and polishing doesn't worry me, it's the look that counts.

    • @shottostravels
      @shottostravels  Před 4 měsíci +1

I have the Halcyn Black, which I bought unseen the day they were announced for sale in the UK, had to wait 3 months for the first bikes to be delivered , and was, and am so pleased with it. I'd previously had a test ride on a Meteor, and am soooooo glad I didn't buy it. For my frame, the riding position is much better on the Classic than the Meteor, and, for me, the looks are incomparable, and what's that 'orrible heel and toe shifter all about? I did try one on the Classic, but it lasted 5 miles before it got binned! All totally subjective I know, and we've all got different preferences and tastes, so i's brilliant that there's so much choice available to please all ( except the folks who've never even sat on , let alone ridden an Enfield, and decry them as "poor quality" cheap machines! )

Hi Mate, Id say half of them do. I don't know if anyone else agrees?
Some don't seem to. I admit that in Summer there's so many bikes about it gets annoying every 5 seconds if you're at a biking hotspot so not so much then. Strangely I think, and this may not be popular, Harley riders sometimes don't unless you're on another Harley. Obviously there are exceptions but That's what I found anyway. I am an ex Harley owner. Where are you, does it happen there?

Don't know why people bother going into Wales now, I'm avoiding it from now on, there's better places to ride

Thanks for commenting. That's a shame it's such a scenic place but it will put people off.

Shotto, I collected and road with my partner 1500km from Jakarta to Bali. The dealership organised a service centre on route and have since certified a RE service in Denpasar Bali, servicing charge 300,000 IDR (£15). However a 350 is over £7000 😢😢. I own a Classic in Bronze and Chrome and in UK a Meteor all blacked out and the blacked out looks like new. Personally I'm only interested in blacked out bikes I just cannot get motivated to clean 😮. Looking at a SM or SG just now.Can send you some pictures from last year I rode from Dieppe, Bilbao, Central Portugal, Algarve and back 😂

Thanks for commenting. That's quite a trip straight out or the showroom, as is the one down to the Algarve. It just goes to show that you can tour on anything. I would love a few pics to share on here. Send to

20mph and speed humps i ask you, beyond stupid. That Drakeford guy needs sectioning that's for sure. I dislike blacked out pipes to me they look cheap so it's stainless/chrome for me everytime time like my GoldStar.

Bit harsh! But it is frustrating. I feel unnecessary but I'm not a road safety expert. I know what you mean about chrome but on some bikes like the army and dark versions it wouldn't look right.
Thanks for your thoughts and Ride safe mate👍
