Two amazing Moto Hero’s. First is Roger DeCoster, in Anaheim Ca. When he was with Honda team manager we got his attention and he turned around and waved at us. Years later at St. Louis I asked for his autograph on a old Supercross Program I had with him in it. At first he said I should get Ryans, but when he saw himself in it he smiled and signed it. Ryan wasn’t there at the time to get his.
With Ryan I have as much respect for him as R.D. Suzuki. He listens and learned from his accomplishments and mistakes. To have input to pass on to others like this, video. My Son plays Lacrosse in College now but I know he will listen to this and apply it to his training and games. When my Son Nate is playing a lacrosse tournament, he sometimes looks at me and twist his wrist like a motocross rider does knowing he always lives moto, even if he is somewhere else.
I think R.D. Suzuki had #5 on his plate before R.D. Ktm?

Maybe Magoo shouldv’e had a little? Miss him, saw him, baddest flat out rider i ever saw, Saw him in 80-1’ Washougal Wa 125/500 nationals, he rode the 125 main on a back flat tire & he rode the thing almost off the rim to a 2nd place finish. One of the best pieces of riding i ever saw, most kids today, ( last 15 yrs) are making “ business decisions” out there, thinking bout the entire year not the next triple jump. Danny Chandler rode every lap as fast as he could push a machine. It is dangerous period! RIP Magoo…

It’s definitely something most people don’t realize. There are guys at local tracks that are super fast, but once they qualify for a National and get lapped by top guys, it really puts it in perspective. I was a slower B rider and you guys in the expert (A) class blew my mind. Then I go to a National and my mind explodes. Motocross athletes are definitely the most underrated. It’s not as easy as just twisting the throttle and going like most non riders think.

@@supertrooper4232 Carlsbad was a place where I really tripped..,RJ coming down that hard pan freeway at seemed like 70mph I’m thinking you’d be Evil knievel at Caesar’s palace if you went down at that speed lol

@@MrColdwatercanyon it really is hard to believe they are going as fast as they do with multiple lines with 10 inch ruts and they are somehow still so stinking smooth. It’s beautiful to watch. Ps, RJ is my personal favorite from that era.

Race race race, anyone having fun. Why no neck brace usage, and continued development? please no "it's personal preference answer".

Atlas is good but the older neck braces would put pressure right on your vertabrea if your head snapped back with too much pressure it would break your back, it doesn't take much with a helmet to put that much pressure on it either. it caused a lot of people to be paralyzed when it probably wouldn't of happened if they wouldn't of worn it, it's happened a lot more than you probably think. The problem is there's no statistics of causing injury or really preventing it for that matter. Just like knee braces, they protect side to side but it doesn't stop your knee from twisting at all. To do that you'd need to somehow connect the knee brace to the boot but the way we wear them there's no rotational protection and we pay Ober a grand for braces to supposedly prevent that very thing. I just wear good knee pads for that reason, you can grip the bike so much better especially when standing and makes it easier to point your toes in. It's so much more comfortable and you have more control without them because of it. I used to race A class but never got my pro card so I've tried neck braces, knee braces and stuff while racing but in my opinion and the thoughts among people in the industry (neck braces mainly) they don't work like we think they will. I've never worn Atlas but just by design they have a lot less chance of causing paralysis than the older leatte. The Leatte broke my collarbone in a couple spots and paralyzed a friend of mine so I was done with them and never worn one since. I do love my wrist braces though, I have a really bad wrist that has only about 30% motion so I have to do the chicken wing (horrible for technique lol) and it's helped ot a lot, especially when I'm putting in a couple 25 min motos or doing a 2 hour single track race
