- The devs of SWTOR updated the entrance cutscenes for each capital world. Here are the old and all-new cutscenes to see what changed and how the dev team will likely "clean up" cutscenes in the future. Let me know what you think about the changes! All of the "old" scenes are from the CZcams channel @cinemaforge-gamemoviescuts1500. All credit goes to them for those scenes!

It's so easy to forget just how much of a gentleman Lord Wrath is. No matter how much of a psycho your choices may be.
The new cutscenes are much more dynamic overall it, as always, does feel great to see the newer tech applied to older parts of the game.
Making a side by side comparison also shows how static some of the older scenes were and how much we might subconsciously have added to these scenes in the past.
This shows commitment to swtor and the class storylines.
I love (and hope) that they kepp doing this to the base game, replaying those stories over and over are what brings me back to the game, and seeing them in greater detail is a beautiful sight!

😮 wow the new entrances on both Republic and Empire on the capital worlds are a very huge improvement indeed it's awesome
Ooh I like how clean the new cutscenes look. The lighting looks far better than it did from the old cutscenes and the characters look far more lifelike with better shading. The movements look far more fluid and the angles bring in a type of dramatic intrigue that I like. I was waiting to start playing SWTOR but I'm interested in seeing how nice everything will look.

basically just make the camera move... that was mostly absent until kotfe .... and in comparison you can see how much better such small thing is.

I too do not appreciate the Devs favouring older content. While I understand some of this won't be "a lot" of work, it's still time that should be spent on developing new content of maintaining more modern features.
I'm borderline fed up of seeing time wasted on the UI, inventory, map, quick travel button and other trivial garbage that other games would add without pitching it as a selling point.
The thing they advertised the most with the latest expansion was a new UI and they still haven't even finished all aspects of it well over a year later.
@@SWCentral Indeed, they still haven't fixed the tooltip to minimap resetting each load screen.
Good idea to compare the versions directly. Btw can one choose between the two versions somehow? Probably not but I ask anyway. 🤔🤷🏻♂️

Hm... can't say I wanted something like this but new Trooper's scene is actually good.
I dont remember seeing the new cutscenes. Must have been a while since I made a new warrior or inquisitor. And while I like the new scenes a bit better, I wish they instead put more time into fixing bugs and other stuff like that. I still run into floating turrets and trees, and sometimes I see npcs moonwalking on Makeb lol Or the odd way characters hold lightsabers in cutscenes that arnt meant for saberstaffs. And cleaning up the world maps would be nice. There are some paths that exist on the map that do not in the open world.
I'm not super up to date with this game but i still play it once in a blue moon.
How come they are changing the entrance cutscenes to dromund kaas and Coruscant? Are they planning to do some sort of class story modernization or something?
They already have, this is an initiative they are working on as part of modernising the game (and, in the specific case of the cutscenes, applying the new cutscene tech to the class stories)
They have done similar things to the cutscenes of the starter planets (not all of them yet, but a few) they have also redone the assets for some of the planets, (most recently Voss) and this is something they’ll continue to work on.
In addition, they have also done notable infrastructure changes, moving all servers to the cloud for one and they recently changed dev studios from BioWare Austin to Broadsword a majority of the current SWTOR team moved to Broadsword as well.
For the most recent expansion they also made changes to character creation now allowing you to pick any advance class for any class (alongside a few other changes).
They have made a few more changes but these are the most recent ones.

I wish they would revert some of the sith warriors fight animations back to how they used to be. They used to have the best fight animations in the game, now they're just sloppy looking.
Slash and Ravage are a particular sore spot for me, though I get why ravage was changed, it still looks so bad now.
I HATE the flip on Ravage....Overall IMO, Jugg animations are better than guardian and Sentinel over Marauder. Marauder is too flippy
In my head i have that one ability for the sith warrior. No idea what it was called but i remember it was like a samurai sort of move.
You would do like that cool anime stab in the stomach while your back was to your opponent then you would back up and charge them if i remember correctly.
As a kid i remember doing that move and thinking it was so cool. Idk when they changed/removed it but now its replacement like a goofy slash, jump, front flip, slash thing.
Liked the old one more.
@@Itz2Cat I think that was the jedi guardian version of it. I remember the jugg version ending with a big slow overhead strike. Or we're misremembering altogether.
@@Itz2Cat That was the original Ravage, the jedi had Master strike as it's equivalent. It was the best as an opener and just down right satisfying if you could finish a mob with it. People complained that it made you too immobile in pvp so now we have the new ravage.

TBH IDK how I feel about the new ones. The facial textures look sharper, but the armor is still so low res that it looks like it was drawn with crayons by a kindergartner. The new vocal treatments are a down grade IMO. They added more bass which takes away the clarity of the performance. It has a more muffled sound. That was really an unnecessary move IMO. It's odd what they decided to sharpen. Mako's armor looks sharper. The republic commando has better lighting on his armor. It's like they decided to do a half measure.

@@SWCentral of course! It is the secret to a great cutscene for the Bounty Hunter I am sure every new scene they do will have a spinning effect just for dramatic effect. 😂
Cool. But i would prefer a proper animation for double bladed lightsaber, and rifle users in the cutscenes.
If i create a sniper, i don't want to see him using a pistol 💁♀
Never got why everyone sprinted 1 foot in the old cut scenes made no sense, you can also tell the sound quality is better for the actors who carried on but others like mako sounds pretty degraded

The starter planets have WAY too much lighting in cutscenes, as if shadows don't exist. Seriously, some changes are okay, but most of Bioware/Broadsword's changes are worse.
Update the faces and the armor please.
