Access control is interesting because it combines locks and electronics with a little RF thrown in.

This week has been pretty much nothing but access control for me 🤪 I’ve never installed an AlarmLock keypad like that before, but I really want to try at least one customer on their AirAccess system.
Our shops policy is that we do not do fresh installs for mag lock systems. We will gladly take over one that already has PIRs and request to exit buttons installed, but we don’t do fresh installs of them.

It is honestly a great 2000-user access system for one door. I have been using AL for almost 30 years it's older technology but they are bringing new stuff out with the wifi and air access stuff.

Nice video, Access Control is interesting.
Just curious, you said the request to exit was mechanical, but it's still just a electrical switch, breaking the power circuit, releasing the lock, also if building power fails, same thing.

yeah-mechanically it shorts the power to the magnet. I guess it's 1/2 mechanical & 1/2 electric, technically it requires no power to activate. The system also has a battery backup so it runs with or without power at least for a while.
