This album came out at my life's lowest point. It's a darker album but it helped me get out of some dark times. I connected with this album probably more than any other. This song will always mean so much to me. You can hear his emotion.

i got dumped by my partner a week after our 6 year anniversary this last Valentine’s Day. listening to Down There really helped me to cope with it, considering it was avey’s first release post-divorce and i was “engaged to be engaged”. How BRAVE is he for performing this song (or anything from "Down There" for that matter) live? I don't see how he got through it without crying and/or cracking up. Well, not quite the entire song; and probably all he could take. Still, absolutely incredible!

When an Animal Collective memeber seems to be playing with just a mixer, with no sampler in sight, was that loop playing all the performance, and they're just "turning it up"?
May be wrong but he most likely does have a sampler. Probably his octatrack. Looks like he’s messing with it in the beginning too. Like I said tho I may be wrong
