Hope everyone enjoying! sorry for the low mix quality this an older video
We love the content! Thanks Westend
IS LAYERING YOUR CLAPS/HATS ETC. A MUST FOR YOU THAT YOU DO ONCE YOU START A PROJECT OR DO YOU ALSO USE LOOPS AND AT SOME POINT YOU MIGHT REALIZE “OH I NEED A PUNCHIER CLAP” AND THEN YOU GO AND LAYER IT? THANKS AND I LOVED THE VIDEO 💙
@@thanos_k It all depends how i am feeling when i start the project. usually more creative means doing the layering later
@@itsthewestend Thanks for the tutorial!Do u have anymore kick drum layering videos?and would u ever do a customer kick drum tutorial if you were paid to?i really want to learn more kick drum sound design because hiphop drums are my weakness..Im not terrible but i could use a bit more learning.
This is absolute gold! Will defo be subscribing to kick and bass! You are the Guy Lawrence of tech house and I thank you 🙏🏻
Westend always coming in with those legendary tutorials!
This video is priceless! I'm a beginner producer and I always start new tracks with this tutorial! Thank you so much!
Happy to help!
its great to see that im almost naturally doing these techniques through experience! ive also spent 7 days deleting like 800 gigs of samples that i never used and really organised my samples which i think will also help with this.
Thanks for another top tutorial!!
This is gold!
Good stuff Wes. Your teaching is spot on amazing and has drastically changed the sound of my music.

Thanks!!
Great tutorial!
great video mate thanks for sharing
Really good video this mate keep them coming!
Thanks coach
I started using the Voxed MSED plugin instead of Ableton stock mid-side processing. It's way faster and now I improved my workflow time. Westend is one of those producers who makes it easy to look over our knowledge in music production.
the best! as always
Thanks for this tutorial :D!!!!
thx a lot!
This was great! Thanks man!
Glad you liked it!

Boss!!
This helps me so much with layering drums. Thanks for that.
I got fabfilter Saturn 2, but dont got the same presets as you. can I buy them somewhere?
Westend is using the original FabFilter Saturn. You won't be able to see those presets if you are using Saturn 2. My suggestion is to pause the vid and copy the settings you see on the screen. It's a pretty basic patch, thankfully.
44:05 You can never have enough cowbell 😁
LOOLLLLL who else got this joke . love it.
What is the name of the beginning song, sound punchy and good!
is there a particular reason why building drums this way is preferable or better than doing it in drum rack ?
19:35 what's that you sipping on?
what headphones do u use? thank u

Amazon video, just please raise the volume on your voice.
So, for a kick why wouldn’t you just give the mids of a good sample an eq boost and not bother with layering?
boosting on lower frequencies tends to add distortion.
Dope video but the voice seems incredibly low compared to the DAW audio
