I absolutely, without question, miss the dip in the song. It's so magic/nostalgic and makes me kinds feel a wanderlust. Kinda like walking through a city in the snow at night.
'Charlie gets crippled' is the last Always sunny episode where the Show title comes first and the episode title comes second. From the next episode 'the gang goes Jihad', and every episode since, its been the episode title first and then "It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia"
One of their smartest changes in the entire run of the show. It REALLY helps to turn the cold open into its own joke with a great punchline. The other way around (Show name, then title) leaves an almost five second gap between the set up and the punchline.
@@DrunkenCoward1 Yeah, but I hate that it's hard to avoid getting spoiled on what the titles will be when selecting an episode, or playing it from a DVD. They don't do enough to protect the viewer and it really impacts how effective the punchline is
That’s not how ad revenue works. The episode is the same length regardless of how many ads they play. Shortening the intro was to increase its effectiveness as a punchline to the cold opens setup, and to give them a bit more screen time. That’s it.
I’m probably looking way to much into this but this title sequence is kinda of genius, most sitcoms opening title sequences usually have up beat music and drone or helicopter shots of iconic landmarks and areas where the sitcom takes place, this title sequence does basically the complete opposite of that, instead of up beat music it goes for almost ironic and sarcastic sounding music and instead of smooth drone shots it’s instead (from what it looks like to me) filmed inside a car and has shaking camera movements and isn’t smooth, which basically tells audiences that this sitcom is very different and isn’t two and a half men
i like the way they edited the song....it seems better than the actual full length version....talking about the edited transition starting at 0:09.... sounds better that way
I lived with 3 awesome roommates in a semi-party house, mom was alive, dad wasn't broken, and I didn't have debilitating health and mental issues. I often have dreams that it's 2008 again. This little intro means a lot to me.

Yes I agree. For me that was the best part of the Intro.
It is SARCASTIC!

You ever wanted to know what sarcasm sounds like?
Hahah accurate representation
Irony
I hate how they shortened this beautiful intro!! :(
I understand why shows cut the intros to add for more seconds of ad revenue, smart business, but this truly is the best version. 💯
Chantz Kacey It also used to be to get people wanting to buy boxsets, when they'd hear the wrong season's music on syndication.

Charlie gets crippled lol
Am I right Folks xD
Ive always referred this show as a live action cartoon.
After the first season, at least
Perfect version
I absolutely love this intro. It's honestly so beautiful and for some reason Frank always comes to my mind first. To me, he is always sunny first!

Well, it's just because they filmed it when they were very poor and couldn't afford a helicopter
Most of it's fund go to Frank's shady business that go wrong
@@wombywill1424 If they’d sold the bar they could have filmed a fancier one, flying by Charlie’s apartment real low and fast.
It’s also super classy sounding music juxtaposed with the raunchy ass antics the gang gets into lol
Why is it called “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” if the opening is filmed at night?
the working title was it's always sunny on tv
Its kinda ironic in a way
"It's Not Always Sunny in Philadelphia"
*video plays*
It's called a paradox
@@Tyrunner0097 no it's not. A paradox is something completely different.
The intro gives a lot of nostalgia
I love this show and Philadelphia,PA.

I think so too, just cutting the start and end of the original piece together creates a nice harmonious sound.
0:09 thats the best goddamn part
i thought i was the only one lol
I couldn’t agree more, finally someone who’s thinking what I’m thinking
Me too, I’m still so pissed off they cut it out
Also when Frank first showed up. When Dennis and Dee still called him 'Dad' 😂
The most 2000s thing ever
The music goes so well with the show cause its funny 😂
Idk if anyone gets this feeling but everytime I hear this track I want to go visit Philly
This makes me want to move to Philadelphia
It's all filmed in L.A., hence the sarcastic title of the show

Ah, early 2008. Life was good then- not anymore.

They should have kept this version of the theme over the sped up version
