Ciri's adoptive family is made up of a bunch of older overprotective brothers/cousins in the Witchers, a grumpy grandpa in Vesemir , a drunk uncle that doesn't like her mom in Jaskier, a mentally unstable mom in Yen and a stoic but will always be there dad in Geralt. All in all that isn't actually that bad.
Would Triss be like a weird sister?
@@Kirklandg no....no cause that sister tried to fuck the dad
"you wanna ask out our niece?"
Don't forget about her cool Aunt Triss
@@mcallister..b8891 that tried to fuck the dad
Also cool little foreshadowing for Ciri's father still being alive earlier in the ep: Notice how when everything in Ciri's trapped world is starting to crumble everyone gets dusted EXCEPT Ciri's dad. The camera angle cleverly hides the fact that he doesn't disappear.
YO your right, I noticed that, but I didn't dwell on it too long. Excellant catch.
I also think when the Deathless Mother took his form in front of Fringilla, he was wearing the same helmet as when he was introduced as Duny. Could be wrong though
Yup exactly was gonna say the same thing
Little foreshadowing for people who played the game
Ayo, nice catch man
Technically I believe Ciri's parents were on a boat that was lost at sea, but somehow her father survived and woke up in Nilfgaard (almost wanted to say milfgard lol).
Not 100% certain but there's a chance the fog that Fringilla owned to using in S1 E8 while talking to Tissaia may have caused their boat to wreck. She says something like "...50 Skelligen ships sunk to the bottom of the sea..." those ships were carrying back up troops to help Cintra while they were being attacked by Nilfgaard. Fringilla makes the fog = ships crashe = no back up = Cintra got wrecked in S1 E1.
It's all spelled out plainly in the last book of the series, Lady of the Lake
@@SpaceTacos60316 pavetta and duny supposedly died when ciri was an infant. Fringilla destroyed skelligan ships during the war between cintra and nilfgaard, ciri was a teenager then. Not the same incident.
@@SpaceTacos60316 No, Duny/Emyr was already in power in Nilfgaard when the attack happened. He was the one who ordered the invasion.
If I remember correctly dunny planned the ship to be wrecked so that everybody would think that they all died and geralt won't claim ciri while dunny tried to take over nilfgaard but pavetta doesn't want that and left ciri just to end up dying in the ship.
Fun Fact: The power that the witch was using to open the portals and bring out the monsters was not her own but Siris power.
It's wierd they didn't realize when the screams are tied to the monolith cracking like with geralt and jussie hearing the scream then the dragon coming out it's always been ciri
the portals are cooler in the game with the blue color and stuff imo
He called him Jussie lmaoo
I think that elf lady in the vision was from the past. Remember Nivellen told that story about an Elf warrior who fell in love with a human mage. I think that elf lady was the warrior and I think she is Ciri’s ancestor.
Yup. Lara Dorren is her name.
Exactly!
Lara Dorren was an elf, and indeed she had elder gene in her, cultivated in her by bringing elves of superior gifts together. Generations over generations, the elves who showed promise were brought together- and the result of this continued practice was Lara Dorren.
But she fell in love with a human mage. It was unacceptable to both the elven and human race. Fanned by their haters, the couple was persecuted. The mage was killed, and Lara Dorren too, but not before she gave birth to a girl in secret.
Calanthe: I don't want you in my kingdom
Duny:....bet
*brings an army to raze it to the ground*
Doony not disappearing means that the witch knew he was alive, so it does make you wonder how? Or was it inside Ciri and deep down she has a connection with her parents strong enough to show he's alive.
I think its because when the witch was playing with the 3 original people (Yenefer, Fringilla, elf girl) she looked into their minds about the things they are most affected by. When she looked into Fringilla's mind, she probably saw Ciri's Father as Emhyr, she just didn't show his face when Fringilla was having her whole moment with the witch. So after that she was aware of his existance. Of course she could just have a lot of knowledge on people on the continent that we are just not made aware of.
It was a plot hole, no one knew who was ciri real father, it was kept secret from everyone.
@@Jo24689 It doesn't have to be a plot hole, thats not what that term means.
So we officially calling him Jussie 😭😭
Royce Pierreson: But I wasn't even in Empire! :(
Ciri`s father is in Witcher 3 and anyone who played that knows he is not a good guy.
Also one of Ciri`s powers is to open portals to other dimensions, and that is pretty much the BIGGEST thing about her. And if they dont change anything, the next season might have the coolest parts of the story.
fun fact, ciri, MIGHT be the bird you see at the end of panam's questline in cyberpunk 2077, because their aren't supposed to be any REAL animals left in the world, also in witcher 3 theirs a part where ciri tells geralt she saw a world where people put metal in their bodies and use weapons to kill from miles away etc, basically describing the cyberpunk world, cuz ciri world hops, a lot >.>
24:04 “Now I realize how dangerous the Wild Hunt is”
Witcher 3 gamers laughs in dlc
What’s more dangerous than the wild hunt?
@@mysticmythgaming3145 Vilgefortz, Gaunter O'Dimm, The Unseen Elder. I can go on...
Duny/Emyhr appearance in the novels was actually at the end, the last book basically. Live-action is pretty much following the general plot while rearranging some stories of the novels to fit the medium. And some details are cut or repurposed to be used in a completely different scene. Example is Roach's death and Geralt's final words to Roach was actually during the moments when he passed out during the Battle at Sodden. He met Death itself and had a conversation with it. The words used was almost the same except for some minor differences.
Though, they are still on track with the main story/plot with respect to the novels. Next season covers Time Of Contempt novel and maybe some parts of the next novel after it. And Emyhr will do something that most likely will make all 3 of them go WUT 🤣🤣🤣
I think they revealed Emyhrs true identity at the end of this seaseon because they wanted to make a big cliffhanger.
@@S4MVG4 It's a show, so you can't hide his face for the rest of the seasons. There's a lot of scenes with him in the books.
not sure if y'all noticed, but in Ciri's vision when everyone was turning to dust, her father didn't, hinting that he was still alive
I know Fringilla, Yen and Francesca were all culprits on volith mir, but most of the blame has to go to Francesca.
She never fed on Yen's despair though. It never succeeded. Francesca's and Fringilla's were enough to free her.
That's true
16:56 a good game, just keep in mind the 3rd game as others have said takes place YEARS in the future. It's the sequel to the books which are being adapted into the Netflix show. You can still play it without much context because you can get filled in by in-game lore but just to keep in mind
Also the elf lady in the vision is the same one from that story geralts friend told Ciri at the beginning of the show about the human and elf that fell inlove she's ciri's ancestor
Here we are folks, the end until season 3😭😭
Something neat I noticed was during Ciri's Tsukuyomi genjutsu, when the people she loved were fading away, her father was the only one we saw that didn't begin to fade.
Seems like Duny may have been playing a long game to get his hands on the power of the Elder blood, he just didn't figure on Geralt calling Law of Surprise on the key to all his plans.
I always wondered if that scene explaining Ciri's bloodline would be confusing to people who hadn't read the books, it's good to know they did a good job explaining it.
The edits tho!! 🔥 Really enjoying rewatching this with y'all
I read somewhere that the reason Ciri’s dad wants her back is because he’s trying to have a child with her (disgusting) to have another child born of elder blood. I don’t know if it’s true but yeah.
FACTS!! Pretty sure that's straight outta the books too. UGH!! Not finished reading them yet, but have seen comments confirming that theory.
wow thats surprising....why cant evil emperors just be happy for their children and not push there luck by doing nasty things to them.
Thats just sick, he can in any case have her a child in ANY men and steal the baby, why it has to be his ?
The three spheres at the beggining was the conjuction and the Tree is the door between the worlds. 🤯
I wanna give props to Freya Allen (Ciri) for playing a very convincing evil witch possessing the body of Ciri. Whenever I see an actor play two different parts in a show, I'm always impressed and she pulled it off well.
the casting for emperor emhyr is so perfect. he looks just as menacing as he was in the game but younger lmao
12:51 Whoever edit's your videos is the best LOL
😂😂😂😂
LOLOLOLOL
Two thing, man Lupa don’t remember anything about witcher 3 because the second quest is Ehmyr summoning geralt for Ciri and second I can’t wait for my boy Regis and my girl Milva to show up
*Y’all when you figured out Duny was Ehmyr: “That was crazzzzzzy!”*
Without spoilers, The Wild Hunt are like elves from a different world, they need the elder blood to save their world
This finale did a good job of setting up so much stuff for future seasons. I can imagine the books and games served as a good source material for the writers.
The writers threw away the best parts of the books and wrote their own, which are worse in every way. Some of the fights are cool, but the story is so shallow, that it's not fun at all. Books are more like an adventure and the show is based on cheap tricks for typical american casual viewers.
@@Kondiqq definitely not a biased opinion at all huh. Been a while since I've seen someone this delusional and bitter.
@@mollywopper22 I mean, Henry Cavill says the same and that's why he quit the show, so I'm not alone.
@@Kondiqq So henry said the show he spent three years on was worse in every way, shallow and not fun at all? Or was he just a little upset with how much they changed/tried to change from the book? Rhetorical question btw I already know the answer. I also know the actual reason he left the show was because he was hired for more supereman films that unfortunately got canned. Sure the direction of the show made the decision easier, but he definitely doesn't hate the show as much as you book purists try to claim. As you can see from this reaction and plenty more like it, those who didn't read the books (i own all of them btw) have no problem with the show. So im not going to let my personal preference on which way the show should have gone, which is probably very similar to yours, blind me into thinking this show is bad at all.
@@mollywopper22 Henry was fighting with the writers all the time, he changed dialogue lines during filming, improvised stuff that made sense to him more than what writers wanted him to do and made the show watchable, but still not great. I gave the show 7/10 after second season for Henry's efforts (it would be more like a 6/10 if not for his acting), but if what he said about season 3 is true, I'll probably lower the rating drastically.
Just think for a second while watching it. A lot of stuff makes no sense whatsoever. The most ridiculous thing was witchers bringing prostitutes to Kaer Morhen - very well hidden place, location only known to the witchers and some very very close friends. Do you think they would really let anyone from the outside in, so they could tell everyone where it is? There's a lot fo stuff like that in the show. You can watch some youtube videos about stupid writing in the show - there are great analysis out there.
fun fact, the 3d planets circling each other in this episodes opening, represents the conjunction, it's the origin story on how the world of the witcher came to be the way it was, interesting stuff, though now a days the concept has been used before, still interesting
"It's the Tree from Elden Ring, bro"
It's the medallion tree, the memorial to fallen Witchers of the School of the Wolf.
whatttt thank you for releasing the last episode hope you have a great day
So Witcher 1-3 takes place after every book and is a standalone story by cd projekt red, although technically having nothing to do with the real story, Andrzej Sapkowski has said he likes all the main points. Witcher 3 is the continuation of Ciri and the Wild hunt so none of it will be spoilers but just like a 'fanfic' of the ending.
Witcher 3 is how I came to love this whole thing ... I played on "Deathmarch" skill level from the beginning - I'm on my 4th playthrough right now!
This TV show is nowhere near the same as the game - but I love it.
The books make clear that every fairy story is open to interpretation ... so the 'three little pigs' might be cursed Nilfgardian soldiers who all died when a werewolf came to visit.
Renfri is "Snow White" - and found her 7 dwarves, bandits that knew that robbing people on the street was much better than wasting time in some stupid mine.
A shocking amount of love went into this show - during Covid-19 no less
@@jazzx251 season 2 was so weird for bookreaders, lol. like none of that happened in the books but i know if they did follow the books it would have been boring cause there was barely any conflict in book 2. I played Deathmarch as well from the beginning only I've just beat it twice. My proudest moment is beating your first fight with the main dude from Heart of Stone because you are allowed to lose but I refused, lol. That gravedigger dude in Heart of stone still a bitch though.
@@Vollker323 I'm only halfway through "Tower of the Swallow" ... I think the next season will be the easiest to adapt - because there's LOADS of Ciri action ... she goes off-grid and joins a feared teenage gang called "The Rats" (who go around causing action scene, after amazing action scene) - then she is involved as the star attraction of a private gladiator arena fight. It's perfect TV - almost writes itself!
She also falls in love with one of the female members of "The Rats" - discovering her sexuality.
We'll also be introduced to Regis (can't wait to see who they cast! - and "THAT" scene where he effortlessly holds a hot coal in his hands)
Again, the writers will be faced with the problem of how to keep a hold of the terrific cast they've assembled - they will need to shoehorn in extra stories and plot lines, like they brilliantly did this season.
Can't wait! :)
One thing to learn, Jaskier just can't shut up 😂😂
I liked the season overall but I feel the Witcher's were severely nerfed in skill/power
Like they don't seem like the Mutated and trained from childhood to be the ultimate monster hunter type dudes
Right!!!! And there's very few of them which could mean they're the best and had the a higher chance of survival but i guess the plot doesnt want that for them
to be fair, they were explicitly up against creatures that no witcher in history had any experience with fighting.
the "basilisks" they were used to were the descendants of the ones that originally appeared in their world hundreds of years ago due to the conjunction, and there's no telling what adaptations and interbreeding they went through to stave off extinction. The basilisks they fight HERE were pulled straight from the hellscape that is their home dimension; pure, homegrown basilisk, with no dilution in their blood and backed by whatever amount of years of evolution that allowed them to survive in such a place.
I was actually surprise how well and fast they adapted to the fight. At first I was scared they were all going to be incompetent like the police or the military in every other show, but they fought back, they were organized and even most of the ones that died put up a fight. All in all I like how they were portrayed
“I am not suicidal”
😭😭😭
Ciri is basically a elder blood weapon that the elven woman in the vision larra Doreen cursed humanity with
The set up at the end was crazy.
Oh and wasn't the injured elf in Ciri's illusion the warrior elf in Nivellen's Story? The same warrior elf that was created to kill the mage but instead they fell in love with each other?
Yes, same story.
Yep that’s Lara Doren
Loved your reaction guys! Mind blowing, yes. And frustrating. s3, now!!
Boss health bar appearing has me SENT
I was WAITING for you guys to finally reach the finale just to see ya'll trip out from the ending😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love the "i need to play the witcher 3" on almost every episode, do a playthru
Roshi really said Vicks 🤣🤣
Your faces at the end lmao I love y'all
Loved your reactions, smart!
Yeah It's definitely nice to have more info on how much of Witcher 3 that Lupa had played. Because when he, earlier in their Witcher (S1 and S2) reactions talked about his pre-existing knowledge of Witcher because he "played the games", I thought that he meant he had FINISHED ALL 3 GAMES. But good to know, he hasn't played that much of W3, which is why he always went "Is that the Wild Hunt? Nahhhh" and always questioned or was surprised when we saw them. I always wondered why that was, cuz as a person who finished W3 myself, I INSTANTLY recognize when the Wild Hunt pops up. Dem demons are mad dangerous, like, "Geralt-runs-away-whenever-he-sees-them" dangerous.
Anyhow, great reaction, and absolutely amazing show. Can't wait for S3!
AWESOME 👍🏾 Reaction as always and thanks for uploading gotta say though I really wanna see you guys rear to The Heroic Legend of Arslan
You can do anything when you got family 💪
So yall ain't doing S3?
3 is reallly bad
@@gsoma4022 it isn't great, but I've seen much worse
12:52 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Check back the scene guys Ymir is the only one not getting dusted
I totally forgot about this plot point, but yeah, you learn this at the start of Witcher 3, when you meet her father Emhyr (played by Charles Dance in the game) and there's some mention of having met her mother under an assumed name.
And I would love a whole game as Ciri, the parts you get to play her in the game were fantastic. Would love to say more about her powers and the Wild Hunt, but spoilers ;)
in the scene with the family tree one of the branches had someone named fiona which is the name ciri used when she was in the forest. idk what any of it means though if it means anything lol 😅
7:25 Yup, she just needs some vicks and wray and nephew.... clear that right up haha
Thinkin about Yen yelling after Geralt over their entire 2 week ride from Cintra to Kaer Morhen
notice in the ciri's illusion everyone turned to dust as ciri starts to break out of it except emyr indicating he is still alive.
14:33 "caught that Miguel" NAHHHHH 😭😭😭😂😂
The reveal on Emhyr is a little early in my opinion. The books don't give that away till near the end.
But, see your reaction to it kinda made it worth it.
You know how jaskier was helping people to be move safely out of cintra....and that he had a benefactor helping him.....well dikstra(idk the spelling) was that said benefactor and now he wants the favor returned.
It is indicated in the books that Ciri spent more of her childhood in Skellige (an archipelago) than in Cintra.
Pavetta and Duny supposedly died when a storm broke out whilst they were commuting through a ship. It was considered weird, because Pavetta was inseparable from Ciri, and Ciri wouldn't have survived if she was on the ship. No one knows what went through Pavetta's head that she decided to not take Ciri with her.
But the netflix adaptation is digressing more and more from the original content. So maybe they would give their own explanation as to what happened, and how did Emhyr/ Duny survived.
Oh wow this was unexpected. I thought this will be released next week.
Ramadan Mubarak to all my brothers and sisters around the world ❤️🤲🏽
"its the tree from elden ring"
*laughs in berserk*
I really thought sheera was gonna predict that it was her father. I’m terrible at predictions but for someone reason I predicted it
I only noticed that her dad didn't turn into ash when the illusion dissipated after watching it a second time. Then I was like whhhaaattt I should have known 😂
Not going to lie, I was super proud of myself when I figured it out right before the reveal. And then having watched the episode again, you could see that the mother is fading away in dust just like her grandmother and mouse sack but you never see the father getting turned into dust. It was like a foreshadowing that he was alive the whole time
Yen went from cutting her wrists to take her own life in season 1, to doing it to save Ciri's.
RIP Pop Smoke. Great song reference lol
I'd watch some witcher 3 gameplay, but it is set after the show ( and is more cannon than the show, so you might get confused easily) it is an amazing game/story tho
The game is non canon its basically high budget fan fiction
Not an illusion. A mindscape.
if lupa played Witcher 3 until that one part. Emyr is the guy Charles dance voices.
Which is really weird cause I Knew who he was but somehow totally skipped my mind that it was THAT same guy in this show. 😂
Great fun watching the Witcher with you guys! ^^ luv it. NOW to important stuff..... are you guys READY FOR THE RISING OF THE SHIELD HERO SEASON 2?!? LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gawd I cant wait 😁👍
He is the only one who did not "fade" away in Ciri's dream cycle.
The HUNT BEIGNS 🔥
Jaskier was getting money to help the elves as the sandpiper.
I think that the worst thing that tv show changed is how early it showed Duny is Emphyr. You learn this in the last book of the series, I think at the last chapters even and we are in the 2nd season of the show, barely starting the main history from books.
Also, Ciri's mother died and it's why Ciri could survive. Duny had a plan to run away and kill everyone on the ship so noone would know but her mother found it out and I think there was a storm and Ciri as a baby fell out of the ship and her mother went after her but didn't survive to the shore. Duny never knew Ciri survived and probably became evil Emphyr bc of it but bc of this plan of his we know he was a bit evil already. I think he learns the truth that the Elder Blood child he was looking all those years is his daughter also at the end of the series bc he previously was looking for her to be his bride and unite Nilfgaard and Cintra.
So I think it would be an even greater WTF moment if they revealed who's Emphyr at the last season but I understand that in tv you never know really which season could be the last. Different rules. But yeah I'm still somewhat annoyed they did it that early.
Ciri just summon the whole cretaceous period
Interesting fact about the Hut as actually based on a musical piece "Hut on Foul's Legs".
Also, the Emyr reveal was not revealed in the books as the books kept his identity hidden until the very end of the book series. So this is one of the major change. I could tell you what were his plans for Ciri, however, I'm not because that'll be a huge spoilers since we're getting a prequel season soon. For those who want spoilers, be warned. vvvvv

Emyr/Duny had no love interests with Ciri's mother. He only wanted a child with her blood and powers, so he inadvertently killed her after she figured out Emyr's true plan. His true goal was to use Ciri to control the monsters that she summoned and use them to rule over the kingdom.
That plot / character arc felt like Sapkowski retconning on the fly. Perhaps because he didn't have a long narrative in mind when creating the original short stories. The books are fairly sloppy in many aspects. That said, I don't recall where in the books' chronology Emhyr made his plans for Ciri. I don't think it was actually from the very beginning. The whole breaking of the curse doesn't make sense if it was all a ploy from the beginning. Plus, how did he know about the elder blood at that point?
Ok for the sphere's they're like different worlds and there was a sphere for the elves the humans and monsters I think dwarves also had they're own but at some point they collided resulting in the species meeting each other for the first time and the elves taught the humans magic then the human mages led a genocide against the elves that's why in blood of the wolf vesemir told the witch to clean up her mess the hell clean up his
The Reveal!!!
The bald guy was the one that Jaskier was working with to free the Elves and slaves.
vicks is de cure for everything lol
Since The Witcher is done now can yall go ahead and do reactions for "The Boys Presents Diabolical"? (Its 8 episodes 15mins each)💡👍🏾
Duny was the only one not being affected by the Thanos snap
Lupa would have known about Emhyr being Ciri's father if he would go and play Witcher 3 like he is always saying lol.
1:40 that's why Geralt is so strong
If you guys had played the 3rd game you would have known for sure who Emhyr was!!! Lupa get on it man!!
In the dream thing when everyone was getting snapped by thanos duny was the only one not disintegrating hinting that he was still alive
And dikstra saying jaskier had to pay his benefactor back was bcuz dikstra was the anonymous person giving money to jaskier to smuggle the elves to cintra so jaskier is in debt with him
In ciris visions only her mom got Thanos snapped
When she was trapped in a vision and tried to come out, her grandma, magic teacher, and her mother all disappeared, but I found that her father did not disappear like them, her father's vision was in Ciri After leaving, it has remained the same, no wonder the king behind who has never shown up.
Lupa forgot Witcher 3 is all about Emyhr looking for Ciri lol
also, i know this is old as hell now so everyone is probably aware, but the witcher games are non canonical sequels to the book series, so even though playing the games will help you learn more about the world of the witcher by a ton, it might actually spoil events or ellude to events in the books here and their, just dropping this here for anyone who cares :3
Villentrentenmerth was the gold dragon they saved
I realize I’m a bit late to this party, love y’all btw, but I gotta ask…Ya’ll gonna watch Blood Origin before continuing on to Season 3?
I’m here still waiting on season 3
10:36 fucking amazing edit jesus christ
The father is the only one that didn't turn to dust in the Dreamworld. Also the Nilfgardians always talk about the usurper being overthrown and the return of the White Flame. I'm guessing he was cursed as a boy so they could steal his thrown.
The world of Witcher was first inhabited by the gnomes, dwarves and elves. Then a cataclysmic event- 'The conjunction of spheres' occured, which brought inhabitants of different world into this one. From one such world came the humans, and from another came the monsters.
I think what they are trying to do in the show is to indicate that these stellactite monoliths are the portals, connecting one world from the other. The monsters in Witcher world cannot mutate or evolve, because they are very few. But the monsters in their own world are continuously evolving.
In the scene where Calanthe, Moussack and her mom were fading away, her father wasn't fading away because he was still alive.
Yall gonna react to season 3????
