  • With South Africa under national lockdown to help fight Covid-19, we had to find a way to still review cars. Luckily Ciro De Siena has a 4-story basement in his building and enough camera equipment to film on his own.
With the Cars.co.za crew staying safely at home, Ciro asks you, our lovely audience, to bear with him as he attempts to do his job on his own, in a basement.
In this video we'll take a detailed look at the segment the Honda BR-V competes in, notably against the new Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Avanza and Toyota Rush. Ciro also takes the BR-V for a spin around the basement to get to grips with the fire-spitting engine.
All to answer to the question, is this the best family car you can buy right now?

The best car review I have ever watched on CZcams😂. I can't believe you took time to take a short at that Land Rover. I enjoyed the humor than the review itself.

Would have loved to see info on the car inside. What it looks like inside, what it offers tech wise, boot space etc. None of that was discussed but otherwise enjoy the videos.

Since we are going to be driving in basements for a while it was a highly practical video.
Maybe add or do a separate review on the Renault triber?

Great car. Bought exactly this demo model with exact plates from honda menlyn. Simple and very practical. Economic and stylish compared to its peers. We drive it daily and have taken it lots of times on the highway. Honda does not dissappoint.

The BR-V is a very interesting car. I was looking at it, but in Thailand it lacks important safety features. It has only 2 airbags. Your family is not protected. It has also low-tech lighting. These are my no-goes. I could live with the small engine and the special look.

I do try to give South African car reviews a chance but most of the time left disappointed. Very little is shown about the car that would aid consumers shortlisted their choices. Infotainment, space, boot space etc thats what most of us come to see when watching these reviews. Carwow, Carguide are examples of channels that do that. Would be nice to see a South African reviews.

Enjoyed your review, but factually appalling!
    1) you can’t remove the rear seats
    2) short gears makes for pleasant driving in traffic, but sixth gear is still no different to fifth, 3500rpm at 120 isn’t an overdrive
    3) tow bar? You cannot buy one, and can’t fit one legally for warranty or insurance sake
This vehicle excels at being a seven seater Getz, town car with great fuel consumption. It has good power, pity I can’t lug a trailer. However, road holding with crosswinds will make me sell this car, from day one I hated it as it starts floating above 100kph, and yes, I played with tyre pressures and saggy rears works best. And sound insulation, where is it? Cheap car for daily seven seater commute!

Nothing... Absolutely nothing about the car's interior, it's practicality, technology - NO THING!
I'm sorry, the review could've been better - just my opinion.

  • @wernerdeetlefs3678
    @wernerdeetlefs3678 Před 4 lety

Would suggest doing a full review when out of lock-down. True it is very practical, other than that it is not worth your hard earned cash.
Poor performance on highway and in windy conditions, with a strong headwind you'll barely reach 120km/h.
Poor interior quality, cheap plastics, feels very dated.
Comes with only 2 year service plan.
Not the quality one would expect from Honda...
