    We've done a few of these types of kits. My brother makes them sound amazing. Our channel is all about the cheap guitars. You have to stretch the strings on any guitar when the strings are new. You seem to have some ability. Don't give up son. One day you will be able to play any instrument and make it sound great 👍.

      @oof the truth Videos like this one are complete nonsense and lure in the Gear Snobs/Cork Sniffers. They're completely misleading and are usually an indicator of a CZcamsr who is secretly sponsored by some company that is in direct competition to the one the CZcamsr is dumping on. Also, these types of videos are used as cheap clickbait to build channels. Misleading potential beginners with elitist nonsense is abhorrent, in my opinion.

      @@Axess-sv8nq if you are new to guitar this is a terrible way to start. if its really cheap and shit like this one. you have to know how to set up a guitar and modify it to make it usable. if you dont know what youre doing you need something that is playable out of the box. my first guitar is a bc rich warlock. the setup made it incredibly difficult to play. so i played on my sisters gibson les paul studio because it was actually good.
      i gave up very quickly on my warlock. it was useless. however, recently ive learned how to set up guitars. and now the warlock is absolutely fine. but i havent played it much the past like 15 years because it was useless to me who had no idea how to make it work properly.
      buy something decent but affordable as a beginner. if you want to modify and test things. buy some cheap crap like this. change all the pickups...or all the hardware and you can probebly make it... better XD

    Since you did ask, yes, I've bought one of these types of guitars and I think you're being ridiculously overdramatic about it. Did you stretch the strings out or even bother to set it up at all? It really seems like you decided to hate this guitar before you even opened the box.

      @TheRabbit _123 where are you planning to buy from?

    • @FLAMINGBABYHEAD
      @FLAMINGBABYHEAD Před 3 lety +1

      @TheRabbit _123 Ok, so here's my opinion on that. As your very first guitar I would NOT suggest getting a no-name eBay or similar guitar (Glarry, Ammoon, Irin, etc.) They tend to have fat necks (not for everyone) and out of the box they need a significant amount of precise adjustment to sound good or even sometimes to be playable at all. Taylor is clearly an experienced guitarist and knows how to make those adjustments correctly, and my point here was that I question whether he even did before passing judgement.
      Anyway, you probably don't know how to make those adjustments, and what I'd hate to happen is that you try to learn on a cheap instrument that isn't adjusted correctly and decide that guitar is not for you based solely on the frustration of struggling with that.
      Taylor has another video on a cheap brand of guitars called "Donner" (which are around $150 on Amazon right now) and from everything I've seen and read you'd be much better off grabbing one of those from Amazon.
      You could also look at the LTD EC-10 or M10, (on sale for $150 on guitar center right now) or the Jackson JS11 dinky. ($150 on sweetwater or guitar center)
      those would all be way better than a non-name ebay guitar to start with.

    The BEST Guitar EVER from a "Starter Pack" is the "Yamaha EG112C". I currently own over 60 guitars including 4 of these and several variations of the model. I have sat and compared the tone, playability, etc. of this particular guitar against literally dozens of High end guitars and we could not believe how well it sounded and played in comparison! I don't know what they did for the stock Yamaha generic pickups, but they sound as good or better than dozens of super expensive high end pickups! The Yamaha EG112C is my favorite guitar of all time because of this!

  • @rookmaster7502

    I'm sensing some obvious guitar snobbery here. Intentionally playing really terrible and the amp's controls specifically adjusted to produce the worst guitar sound possible, with treble knob cranked up to max for plenty of squeal and hiss. That approach would make even a $3,000 guitar sound like a turd!

It's always better the get a better amp then the guitar. But I can see how the strings would get you annoyed. It took me like 5 times to toon it up then it held the toon very well. So I think you gotta let the strings set for a little before you start to really play. By the way, great skill on the guitar. Wish I was that good. Any tips?

    I haven’t owned a guitar, or really played, for about 15 years. My lady bought me similar for a joke Christmas present. Just have a laugh Christmas morning then go all Townsend and smash it up. It was $100 Australian, so similarly priced to yours. You think your amp is small, mine was 5W run off batteries, about the size of 2 cigarettes packets placed next to each other. Now the guitar, well it felt real good weight wise, like yours absolutely no writing on the headstock butane least that was strat shaped. No dings whatsoever, appearance, colour, paint and varnish etc not bad, as long as you didn’t look at the back. But the neck, oh the neck should have been wrung at birth. I tried everything to straighten it with no luck. Strings were literally 6mm above the frets and I could do nothing to lower the action at all.
    Now we just laughed it off, we know that mostly you get what you pay for.
    But what about kids? Poor old ma and pa ain’t got much money but little Jimi wants a guitar. Sadly if you buy cheap shit like this kids are gonna give up in a week.

      Well Larry, I'm sure you didn't watch the whole thing, but the point is that there are better options for not much more money. This guitar won't stay in tune, has terrible fretwork, and feels like you might break it if you sneeze on it.

    You buy the cheapest knowing its not going to be perfect. You also act like everyone have easy 500 for a guitar to start or give kids to learn. You wanna make a video to diss guitars how about to do videos on higher priced ones and how crappy those are to a well known one for same price. Your the type that kills dreams of low income family's wanting to get their kids in music cuz your saying unless you buy higher end don't even try to learn

    • @Peron1-MC
      @Peron1-MC Před 5 měsíci

      no the dream killer is these cheap crap guitars because if you want to learn guitar you will give up very quickly when this is all you got. its not about having money. save up some more and buy something usable. cheap guitars like these are often really hard to play cleanly if at all possible and thats the last thing you need as a beginner. if its even more difficult than it should be you will give up on it and assume its just incredibly difficult.
      "not perfect" is not the same thing as at all usable.

    • @timothyzdroik890
      @timothyzdroik890 Před 4 měsíci

      @Peron1-MC so your kids first car will be brand new high-end car worth 100 grand or more or thier first bike is an easy 1000 when they try without training wheels. A cheap guitar is a learners one why let's go to the store buy a 1000 dollar guitar they play for 6 months and quit now it's either stored in basement or garage just sitting or you take it and sell it it's used its got wear will you get 1000 for it bet you have better chance of getting 700 tops so 300 in loss but you pay for cheap 200 guitar kit they say I don't wanna you can still get maybe 100 so loss 100 not 300 plus. Ever see most the greats who play they started on cheap guitars no names so your saying they aren't greats cuz they started with cheapest ones they could find. Keep making kids and parents feel like scum cuz they bought there kid a cheap garbage guitar like me cuz I can't throw 1000s at one or kids that don't see its high end feel like they can play it or they deserve the top of line. I'm glad you think everyone is rich like you and can just blow money and anything they and not worry about money. This is why I can't stand this video cuz you make me out to be shit dad cuz I got my kids 140 guitar kits cuz they wanted one to learn thanks buddy since I'm down kick me more I can't afford afford Disneyland multiple times a years or go to Hawaii for weeks at a time. Wait I also bought them walmart headphones and speakers to listen too so then I should just toss them out like the garage they are. Stop bashing parents that are fighting to make kids happy. Also I heard real guitar players make my kids guitar sound really damn good not amazing but guess they can play better than you
