I love that your podcast is so different to all the others! Id still love you to get a little more practice as a host, maybe check topics with the guests before show starts (knowing what caedrel and medic can talk about would have possibly helped) but overall it's great

It's very interesting looking at the way older multiplayer games are going, how the content will naturally become more stale because there can't always be new things. Every informational guide is out and every content idea has been tried before. The question for me is whether these games like csgo or league will die out from a slow lack of interest and every game will be replaced by a newer one, or if the fact that these games have stood the test of time is because they are so good and they will outlast the newer competitors.
CSGO is doing great right now. League is dying because they keep just reshuffling the meta. Sometimes they do it with new champs or new items but mostly the game has been a cycle of meta play style rotation. The community in the west has also become increasingly toxic with massively inflated egos in ranks below challenger top 200. If riot manually reviewed high ELO games and actually put effort into promoting educational content such as strategies for champ select or build patching instead of moving most of their talented devs to their other titles the game would be way better off.

Riot used to highlight content creators. Riot was always getting involved with the community, even sometimes holding random tournaments without warning and competing against players (there could even be multiple Riot teams). This is the single biggest difference, Riot is simply no longer a bunch of guys who hang out with their players and make stuff for them.

In DOTA2 EU is super dominant (there used to be a rivalry with China but not anymore since OG's reign of terror). One thing that I found interesting was that in DOTA2, EU teams had game knowledge, experimenting with builds, and unconventional picks as their major strength, allowing them to take off games from more mechanically superior teams in China.
I think if the west develops a new approach to how they think about the game (I know a lot of people hate LS, but LS is respected by many pro players for legitimate reasons) they can take games off of eastern teams. The problem is the emphasis on mechanical skill is much higher in League of Legends. Furthermore, with elemental dragons/dragon soul and herald, the game ends up being rather "solved" in terms of major macro decisions, which only hurts teams that may thrive on chaotic situations (like G2).

The ppl working on the gamemode team either left riot or transferd to another team. They pretty much lost their entire game mode team and had to try and rebuild the team. And They had to scrap everything that was worked on except the new aram changes. They Also posted on Reddit that they are making a new gamemode on the nexus blitz map. So praying 2023 will be just urf / ultimate spellbook
They didn't "lost" the team they stopped supporting them, riot doesn't care about gamemodes bcs it's "not profitable". F*cking stupid management.. gamemodes are not long term that's true but they create memorable events that people will remember and it is something to look forward to. Not everything is for direct profit, some things are for marketing, quality of life etc.. ppl will notice (they r already noticing) that there is just no new content besides skins. Good job riot really, remove and cut everything that doesnt directly creates revenue and we'll see how long will it take for players to get bored and move to a game that actually cares about player's wishes and not only stats. Where is void event? Where is nexus blitz? Where are the oldchool modes? What the hell did you blow your budget on?? At this point just put the game on maintance, stop investing money into it and just make new arcane seasons and other games that are actually good and actually get updates. Fcking tft has more gamemodes than lol.
I dont understand why riot doesn't do the same stuff as other civilised games and adjust the Release of patches To the region. So its let's Say roughly 5pm on every server.
They had great point about having inormations on the internet about online games. Every time new TFT comes out I'm trying to figure stuff on my own. Meanwhile every single opponent plays for e.g. Jax comp because they know it's broken because they saw it on some tier list shit and know already what other champion to look for. The same comes with new items. People will test it and call it very quickly if its viable or its dog water...

hearing someone say "after 3 months people have peaked lp" I realized that having an mmr and lp multiplier for first game per day or week, so people who play fewer games platau more similarly an create a better gaming habit that has people play 3 hours/day instead of 6h/day and caring more for every game they play and giving more time to learning the game.
like if you got a 2 or 3x multiplier on your first game every day I might be hype enough to try climb beyond gold since it wouldnt take 200 games or something to platau but more like 100

On the gun subject, with proper licensing and background checks you can purchase an M4 type gun. Very expensive and a long process though I believe.

yeah, I think even more in high elo, people are stuck with the champs they've mastered, in the roles they are good on. If it's not a change at the start of the season, some bruiser main going off role with a champ they don't know is literally trolling, and for those people, going normals is the same as playing with bots. You have to compromise at the start of the searson, or just create another account
I like the podcast but when I was showing it to someone who doesn't really follow league news as a full time job he got confused.
So maybe before you get into a new topic layout the premises and explain what happened. Helps the less invested viewers.

I think the game is just getting old. It's too solved and alot of people are done with it. These 10+ year old games have a hard time attracting new players across the board.
League has already peaked and will most likely keep declining in popularity over the coming years. We're human afterall and everything life has a saturation point. Playing games like LOL for 5k+ hours over the years just makes most people done with it.
I'm pretty sure RIOT is trying hard but once a game is starting to trend down it's usually impossible to reverse the trend. The history of all other massive games tell the same story.
