  • Record Ryu doing crouching MK into EX fireball, red parry the first hit of the EX shoryuken and land a double shoryuken from mid-screen.
To land the second shoryuken however, you need to perform a kara-shoryuken. This video shows my method on how to improve your execution on this.
If you can do this, post a video and attach the #rakchallenge3s tag ;)

Hey dude! We literally went through so many videos and they over complicate the Kara input. This was on point and straight forward! The Nom noticed he can do it on stick but not on his mixbox… 🤔 I am thinking cause the keys for down + forward don’t register the same as on stick. Time to figure it out.

Wouldn't piano-ing both mk and hk risk you being in hk animation for 2 frames thus not getting the shoryu? Assuming you are already actionable at the start of the input and spend 1 frame for hk, 1 frame for mk, and lp the next

MK or HK will work. Pianoing will guarantee at least one of these moves coming out. Once a move has started, pressing another button won't cancel that startup animation unless it's a throw (for certain moves) or a special (in this case, shoryu)

@@RakuraiMedia sorry for the late reply, but i tested it and pianoing doesn't work. If you time the kara so that HK will come out, it doesnt cancel into shoryu because you spend more than 1 frame in the cr.HK animation. In the video, it worked because you pressed both MK and HK at the same time.

@@martimnunes866 Then maybe you should try doing the kara-shoryu with cr.HK and not cr.MK - you'll find that works on it's own. The point is, you are doing a piano input to get EITHER version to come out. If you happen to press MK during the falling frames of the first shoryuken where it's not possible to input a button, HK will compensate for it - giving you an extended timing window.

@@RakuraiMedia I know it works with cr.HK, what i'm saying is that there is no extended window because if you time it properly (after falling frames) while pianoing, you'll mess up and not get the kara shoryu. You're still going for a 1frame window. Therefore there's no point in doing it like that

@@martimnunes866 You are more than happy to join my discord if you need a visual illustration on this technique, as I feel you are not getting the full picture. The most common reason people fail on the kara-SRK is because people mistime the kick input upon landing. But whatever works for you is fine.
