For me, this is the peak of Nightwish. But I think Black Symphony of Within Temptation is the best symphonic metal concert (complete orchestra, chorus, invited artists, sold out arena, great production). Again, it's only my opinion.
I can't help but to cry every time I watch this masterpiece of a concert. This is the Nightwish for me. No disrespect for the other musicians or singers, but this is to me, Nightwish at its best
End of an Era - There is no concert so heartbreakingly perfect, the perfect marriage of muse to maker, the cadence before divorce, the last thing a dying star has to give, supernova.
Absolute peak of Nightwish. Every single song here surpasses its album version. Incredible energy. Incredible live mix. They've never even come close in subsequent live releases.
I felt like From Wishes to Eternity was damn good too but this is peak material for sure. 20 years of nightwish and too long without Tarja and Jukka :(
But for som of us other, NW became more interresting after Tarja left. Dark Passion Play is still one of my favorite albums. Of any artist. In my opinion Tarja was to one-dimentional to the rest of the music.

Beautyfull show i speccialy went to those concert from south of Poland ;) Few Thousand kilometers, but it's worth it. Me and my Girlfriend can see now ours faces in few songs ;) Specially in Phantom of the Opera and Over the Hills ;) Good Bless those band for ever.

It's insane to me how few views and comments this has, considering it's the best recorded concert in Nightwish's history, uploaded in full, and no ads. Big thank you for that, by the way. I'm still amazed at the incredible musicianship of this band, especially here, right at their peak. Absolutely stunning in every way!! I don't think I'll ever fall out of love with this gig.
Have you ever seen the "Perfect Mix" version of Ghost Love Score? It shows how good the band is. There are times where the audio from both the Tarja and Floor performances are playing at once for a duet and the band is so consistent you can't tell it's two different shows.

I have been deep into the nightwish rabbit hole for about a year now and they still blow me away. But, I am watching this full show for the first time. This must have been a very difficult show for them to play, knowing what was to come after it was over. Even though they knew that their time with Tarja was at an end, the chemistry and energy is still 100 percent evident. And Tarja is just owning the stage, her charisma and vocal prowess is something to behold. Truly was the end of an era.
It was the stupidest, lamest way to go about firing her. Cowardly, pathetic and just plain stupid. Why would they do it in this way, which obviously going to be traumatic to her? After all she put in the work helping building the god damn brand?!! They could have been professional and adult and sat down and told her to her face a week later.

Tuomas is an amazing composer/musician, but based on his interviews and the way he handled not only Tarja's firing, but Anette's as well, I don't think he's someone I'd care to work with or even know. He seems to have a real overlord complex towards the women he's had in the band. If you have to fire someone then sit them down and do it face to face like a civilized professional. Instead he chose to humiliate her in front of the entire world with an open letter? That's crazy! Something else was going on. Was Tuomas in love with Tarja and jealous of her marriage I wonder? I only ask because he went out of his way to reference her husband in the letter multiple times and when I heard their version of things afterwards it only made Tuomas look worse in my eyes. It also seemed like he was out for revenge after she did him the favor of being honest in sharing the plans for her future career. I guess he wanted to be the one who controlled the destiny of her departure. Gutless move. I would have been on my knees doing whatever was necessary to get her to stay, because people are right - the band was never the same. Floor is an incredible singer/performer as well, but today's Nightwish seems like a Floor Jansen solo act now that Marco is also gone.

I'm pretty sure there was another video (full concert) that had WAY more views but was taken down some years ago (12 years ago I think... I mean, I used to watch it like in a daily basis so i know lol) You can notice by the views in the end of an era's videos spread around youtube that weren't taken down (or privatised)
I found them by accident in 1997 went with them through their growing years. Will always be the best ever but like so many of the other comments I have read this concert was their best just everything was perfect. Too bad what happened after this but that is life and I still love this band and always will
I still can’t believe they fired Tarja, especially in the manner they did. Her performance here is otherworldly, absolutely angelic. People in the audience are brought to tears by her voice. NW is still good, but they have not and will never reach this level again without Tarja.
It feels like they were all so invested in playing with each others and on such harmony that this masterpiece of a live came through. This live is magical

There is 13 years that I have keeping watching this concert in a biweekly basis being by the DVD I still have and converted to digital or here on youtube, never gets boring or repetitive ❤
My post is long, so apologies in advance, but wanted to offer this take. I'm a Nightwish newbie. Discovered them roughly 3 or 4 months ago when they popped up in my YT recommended. The first thing I watched was this years Hellfest show and thought that was just amazing - mostly because of Floor, of course. Who is this incredible singer rocking the Xena outfit and whipping up the crowd I wondered. I had no idea Tuomas was the bands ringleader - figured he was just the hired keyboardist, ya know? The music really moved me, though. Thought it was so good. So that show inspired me to dig deeper.....and once I did I discovered that Nightwish had been around for like a quarter century and that they'd actually been through several lineup changes. I've been a die hard rock fan since I was like 10, how have I never heard of these guys who started back in '96? It was hard to believe....I mean that Hellfest show was so incredible but you had people in the comments saying they were a shell of what they had been and all that. Kept hearing about this guy Marco and the original singer. I just thought to myself how could they possibly be any better than what I just watched? So I continued to dig. Well, here I am months later and now I know. First of all, nothing against Floor. She's one of the best singers I've ever heard and just as good of a performer. The Nightwish albums with her are excellent as well and I would pay to see the band with her anytime, anywhere. That said, the Nightwish lineup on this DVD is hands down one of the best bands I've ever encountered. Tarja is an angelic, spellbinding presence and Marco has THE most incredible rock voice on the planet in addition to being one hell of a bass player. The last drummer, Jukka, was also much more animated than the guy they have now, although Kai is every bit as good technically. I like the element Troy brought to the band with the pipes, but aside from that he does nothing for me. His singing voice is like hearing a mouse squeak compared to Marco's blasting power vocals. The new bass player doesn't even sing......so between Troy and that guy it makes me think Tuomas decided to rebuild the band around Floor and make her the centerpiece, which is fine except it just makes it feel like a Floor Jansen production, rather than a Nightwish one, even if Tuomas is obviously still writing and conducting everything. Even Emppu, who is a great guitarist with an awesome crunch to his riffs, seems to have purposefully toned things down onstage. No headbanging, tying his hair back and wearing sportcoats. With the lineup on this DVD, though.....it was pedal to the metal with everyone......and I do realize they're all older now, but only Troy is over 50 unless I'm mistaken, so it's not like the rest are reaching for the rocking chairs or anything. Anyway, I'm glad they're still going.....but I can't help but beat myself up over missing out on Nightwish in their prime. I so would have loved to have witnessed the Marco/Tarja version in concert. Been listening to Tarja's solo stuff also and it's really good, too. Anette was no slouch either and the 2 records with her were fantastic, but from what I've seen I don't care for her live performances with Nightwish as much. She can't pull off Tarja's songs like Floor can and she dressed onstage like she was running out to get groceries or something. What Tuomas did to Tarja was wrong, even if she was on her way out of the band anyway. She must have stung him pretty badly in some manner for him to do something like that. I must admit that it taints this show to some degree because she's out there giving everything she's got and he's just sitting back there knowing he's about to humiliate her in front of the entire world. He even stands next to her and takes her hand for the bow after the final number. That was cold, Tuomas. Ice cold. I mean, at least wait a couple weeks for the dust to settle from the tour and be man enough to confront her in private. I wonder if they were ever involved or if she may have rejected him romantically at some point? Anyway, there it is. Just learned Floor now has breast cancer. Praying she's ok. Always seems to happen to the sweetest people, not that I would wish it upon anyone else. In any manner, I love this band and hope they continue for as long as they're able. No matter what I think of Tuomas and his business practices there's no denying he's the Beethoven of symphonic metal. The songs are so, SO good. Lot of people complain about the YT recommended feature, but on those rare and special occasions it opens up some wonderful doors for us to walk through, as it did in this case for me.

I've read all your comment. I knew this band when they were with Tarja and I agree with you 100%. Floor used to have a band called After Forever and they were great too.
Having been a Nightwish fan for over 20 years at this point, I can say that I really enjoy all three of their female singers, and Marko is literally my favorite musician/singer in the world. I honestly do not like the two albums with Floor, although there are some songs I like on those albums. However, I think she does a great job live, and does *some* of the older songs better than originally done with Tarja and Anette. Overall, I don't like the direction that Nightwish went with the newer albums, but I am not taking anything away from the genius of Tuomas, either. I feel like if I stumbled onto Nightwish today, they would probably be one of my top 10 favorite bands, rather than #1 which is where they are based on my years of growth with them.

I was hanging out with some friends yesterday and this album came out randomly in spotify. I had several years without listening to it. The best era of the band.
It was the best to witness this End of an Era. That was the golden time of my teenage years, I remember feeling so much emotions whilst hearing Nightwish and still today tears come to my eyes and I get goosebumps as soon as everdream or ghost love score starts playing. Those were the times.

El poder desgarrador de la voz única de Marco Hietala empata genial con la de Tarja Turunen creando una sintonía oscura e imponente. Emppu Vuorinen es un genio impecable en la guitarra, y el mayor de todos, compositor que creo la música que hizo vibrar esta agrupación, Tuomas Holopainen, pues el lo dijo. Que las cosas se dieran así fue un golpe impredescible y magnífico, suerte el le llamó. Lo malo es que fui muy jóven para verlos en vivo en su mejor etapa.😭😭😭

I have been deep into the nightwish rabbit hole for about a year now and they still blow me away. But, I am watching this full show for the first time. This must have been a very difficult show for them to play, knowing what was to come after it was over. Even though they knew that their time with Tarja was at an end, the chemistry and energy is still 100 percent evident. And Tarja is just owning the stage, her charisma and vocal prowess is something to behold. Truly was the end of an era.

It was the stupidest, lamest way to go about firing her. Cowardly, pathetic and just plain stupid. Why would they do it in this way, which obviously going to be traumatic to her? After all she put in the work helping building the god damn brand?!! They could have been professional and adult and sat down and told her to her face a week later.

Tuomas is an amazing composer/musician, but based on his interviews and the way he handled not only Tarja's firing, but Anette's as well, I don't think he's someone I'd care to work with or even know. He seems to have a real overlord complex towards the women he's had in the band. If you have to fire someone then sit them down and do it face to face like a civilized professional. Instead he chose to humiliate her in front of the entire world with an open letter? That's crazy! Something else was going on. Was Tuomas in love with Tarja and jealous of her marriage I wonder? I only ask because he went out of his way to reference her husband in the letter multiple times and when I heard their version of things afterwards it only made Tuomas look worse in my eyes. It also seemed like he was out for revenge after she did him the favor of being honest in sharing the plans for her future career. I guess he wanted to be the one who controlled the destiny of her departure. Gutless move. I would have been on my knees doing whatever was necessary to get her to stay, because people are right - the band was never the same. Floor is an incredible singer/performer as well, but today's Nightwish seems like a Floor Jansen solo act now that Marco is also gone.

I'm pretty sure there was another video (full concert) that had WAY more views but was taken down some years ago (12 years ago I think... I mean, I used to watch it like in a daily basis so i know lol) You can notice by the views in the end of an era's videos spread around youtube that weren't taken down (or privatised)

I found them by accident in 1997 went with them through their growing years. Will always be the best ever but like so many of the other comments I have read this concert was their best just everything was perfect. Too bad what happened after this but that is life and I still love this band and always will

I still can’t believe they fired Tarja, especially in the manner they did. Her performance here is otherworldly, absolutely angelic. People in the audience are brought to tears by her voice. NW is still good, but they have not and will never reach this level again without Tarja.
I feel like the whole group has changed so much and somehow lives thanks to its old glory... They are not the same and I doubt they will ever recover

Tuomas was in love with Tarja, she didn't choose him so he fired her.
It feels like they were all so invested in playing with each others and on such harmony that this masterpiece of a live came through. This live is magical
@@LucianoFromEarth - As a huge Tarja fan, I can say that is not the case. Tuomas was not the only one who chose to fire Tarja. Even before the infamous "letter" there had been reports of friction between the band.
Впервые я услышал nightwish в 2010 и до сих пор слушаю а когда слушаю этот концерт у меня мурашки от начала до конца nightwish и Тарья это магия от которой неизвестно что у тебя внутри происходит и пытается вырваться на ружу, это просто капец жаль что не побывал на концертах nightwish а хотелось бы побывать....

My post is long, so apologies in advance, but wanted to offer this take. I'm a Nightwish newbie. Discovered them roughly 3 or 4 months ago when they popped up in my YT recommended. The first thing I watched was this years Hellfest show and thought that was just amazing - mostly because of Floor, of course. Who is this incredible singer rocking the Xena outfit and whipping up the crowd I wondered. I had no idea Tuomas was the bands ringleader - figured he was just the hired keyboardist, ya know? The music really moved me, though. Thought it was so good. So that show inspired me to dig deeper.....and once I did I discovered that Nightwish had been around for like a quarter century and that they'd actually been through several lineup changes. I've been a die hard rock fan since I was like 10, how have I never heard of these guys who started back in '96? It was hard to believe....I mean that Hellfest show was so incredible but you had people in the comments saying they were a shell of what they had been and all that. Kept hearing about this guy Marco and the original singer. I just thought to myself how could they possibly be any better than what I just watched? So I continued to dig. Well, here I am months later and now I know. First of all, nothing against Floor. She's one of the best singers I've ever heard and just as good of a performer. The Nightwish albums with her are excellent as well and I would pay to see the band with her anytime, anywhere. That said, the Nightwish lineup on this DVD is hands down one of the best bands I've ever encountered. Tarja is an angelic, spellbinding presence and Marco has THE most incredible rock voice on the planet in addition to being one hell of a bass player. The last drummer, Jukka, was also much more animated than the guy they have now, although Kai is every bit as good technically. I like the element Troy brought to the band with the pipes, but aside from that he does nothing for me. His singing voice is like hearing a mouse squeak compared to Marco's blasting power vocals. The new bass player doesn't even sing......so between Troy and that guy it makes me think Tuomas decided to rebuild the band around Floor and make her the centerpiece, which is fine except it just makes it feel like a Floor Jansen production, rather than a Nightwish one, even if Tuomas is obviously still writing and conducting everything. Even Emppu, who is a great guitarist with an awesome crunch to his riffs, seems to have purposefully toned things down onstage. No headbanging, tying his hair back and wearing sportcoats. With the lineup on this DVD, though.....it was pedal to the metal with everyone......and I do realize they're all older now, but only Troy is over 50 unless I'm mistaken, so it's not like the rest are reaching for the rocking chairs or anything. Anyway, I'm glad they're still going.....but I can't help but beat myself up over missing out on Nightwish in their prime. I so would have loved to have witnessed the Marco/Tarja version in concert. Been listening to Tarja's solo stuff also and it's really good, too. Anette was no slouch either and the 2 records with her were fantastic, but from what I've seen I don't care for her live performances with Nightwish as much. She can't pull off Tarja's songs like Floor can and she dressed onstage like she was running out to get groceries or something. What Tuomas did to Tarja was wrong, even if she was on her way out of the band anyway. She must have stung him pretty badly in some manner for him to do something like that. I must admit that it taints this show to some degree because she's out there giving everything she's got and he's just sitting back there knowing he's about to humiliate her in front of the entire world. He even stands next to her and takes her hand for the bow after the final number. That was cold, Tuomas. Ice cold. I mean, at least wait a couple weeks for the dust to settle from the tour and be man enough to confront her in private. I wonder if they were ever involved or if she may have rejected him romantically at some point? Anyway, there it is. Just learned Floor now has breast cancer. Praying she's ok. Always seems to happen to the sweetest people, not that I would wish it upon anyone else. In any manner, I love this band and hope they continue for as long as they're able. No matter what I think of Tuomas and his business practices there's no denying he's the Beethoven of symphonic metal. The songs are so, SO good. Lot of people complain about the YT recommended feature, but on those rare and special occasions it opens up some wonderful doors for us to walk through, as it did in this case for me.

I've read all your comment. I knew this band when they were with Tarja and I agree with you 100%. Floor used to have a band called After Forever and they were great too.
Having been a Nightwish fan for over 20 years at this point, I can say that I really enjoy all three of their female singers, and Marko is literally my favorite musician/singer in the world. I honestly do not like the two albums with Floor, although there are some songs I like on those albums. However, I think she does a great job live, and does *some* of the older songs better than originally done with Tarja and Anette. Overall, I don't like the direction that Nightwish went with the newer albums, but I am not taking anything away from the genius of Tuomas, either. I feel like if I stumbled onto Nightwish today, they would probably be one of my top 10 favorite bands, rather than #1 which is where they are based on my years of growth with them.

It was the best to witness this End of an Era. That was the golden time of my teenage years, I remember feeling so much emotions whilst hearing Nightwish and still today tears come to my eyes and I get goosebumps as soon as everdream or ghost love score starts playing. Those were the times.

No cabe duda que este Nightwish tenía la magia, juntos solamente, cada quien por su lado se pierde su esencia. Jukka Nevalainen hizo trabajo asombroso con ilusión rítmica que pocos toman en cuenta. El poder desgarrador de la voz única de Marco Hietala empata genial con la de Tarja Turunen creando una sintonía oscura e imponente. Emppu Vuorinen es un genio impecable en la guitarra, y el mayor de todos, compositor que creo la música que hizo vibrar esta agrupación, Tuomas Holopainen, pues el lo dijo. Que las cosas se dieran así fue un golpe impredescible y magnífico, suerte el le llamó. Lo malo es que fui muy jóven para verlos en vivo en su mejor etapa.😭😭😭

Al igual Nightwish sin Tarja no será el mísmo, por más que tengan a la vocalista de After Forever. Debieron seguir trabajando juntos, el Nightwish con Tarja, no me imagino que joyitas hubieran surgido si seguían unidos. Pero asi es esto. Solo hay que agradecer lo que fue🤘

Yo creo que todo el bardo empezó desde Tuomas; si leiste una entreviste que le hicieron a Marko cuando el se fue; el dijo que renunció básicamente y a mi entender por las mismas razones que la despidieron a Tarja después de este recital
Como dicen algunos comentarios, estamos ya en el 2022 y seguimos viendo este End of An Era en vivo, este tipo de música ya no tiene un tiempo pueden pasar los años pero sigue siendo un lujo escucharlos.

Согласна. Была на 2х концертах в 2022 и 2023 (пару недель назад), Флоор уже халявно поет. Может раньше когда была моложе, выкладывалась на все сто. Но этот концерт, однозначно, самы лучший в их истории
