Spooky - My Tundra has 222480 miles on it right now (within a few hundred of Scotty’s grandson’s Tundra). And I bet my oil pressure sender is about to go belly up too! I noticed when I was under there changing oil a couple weeks ago that it looked awfully rusty. 😅

Hi Scotty, I have a Mitsu Outlander V6 2013, I've had two issues with my car recently where no check engine light came on and recently when I was having some issues with hesitation and jerkiness, replacing the spark plugs and cleaning throttle body and fuel injection system fixed the issue.... thing is NO codes showed for the issue...
Same when I had a leaking trans fluid line, no codes for pressure issues OR low transmission fluid until the car went into limp mode! And even in limp mode no check engine light!
Any suggestions for better OBD2 scanners that might work better? Wuld love to not have to take guesses everytime something feels off on my car and not have to wait till it's a bad problem before fixing it!

I Don't think it the OBD 2 scanner. Any scanner should read codes if there's any.

That happened to my impala. It kept randomly saying low pressure, but the engine was running just fine. The sensor was bad and there was a minor oil leak coming from it. It just needed a new one was all.
Fuel level light is burning. Scotty always advises to fill up when there's a quarter left in the tank..🙂

I have 2 comments. 1. Own a 2006 full size Tundra w 78000 miles. Will keep the oil sensor issue in mind. 2. Second vehicle is a 2020 RAV4 TRD. After seeing the video on the SPORTY European stick shift version of Ford Edge(?)AND THE PLASTIC COVER over the engine I looked under the RAV4 hood. Holy cow a 3/4-1" FOAM COVER! As Scotty said " maybe a good thing if you live in Alaska- for the winter." Well I DO live in Alaska and will put the "blanket" back on Dec. 1👍

A little information about the scalloping tires. My son-in-law put directional tires on his car facing the wrong way and had problems with that scalping and nothing else.

Way back in the day when I was but a young guy (1972) I had a 68 Dodge Charger. Kept wearing front tires... Finally found a alignment shop that knew what he was doing and he dialed it in, locked everything down tight and said if my tires wore out now he’d buy new ones. Now that’s a guarantee.......
Great advice. But Chinese manufacturers have realized that many people look for the "Made in Japan" print on the box and so the cheap products made in china also print the "made in japan" on their box and they put a very small easy to peal off sticker with the "made in china" info on the box and many parts suppliers buy the cheap parts, remove the sticker and then sell you as a premium part.

I have the exact same truck but the engine has a metal on metal sound whenever I start it and accelerated… is it the low oil pressure sensor?
The clanking goes away after a few mins of driving tho

@@shawnsatterlee6035 Yeah. In over 50 years in the automotive service industry I never saw an actual internally failed OP switch. Saw lots of em leak or break. Also saw many replaced to fix light coming on. But it never fixed light coming on. Most trigger between 4 and 8 PSI
With no inspections you have some idiots driving around in dangerous crap that can kill others.
Low oil will not create low pressure, until it is critically low. 1 qt low won't create a problem. 2 qts low should be ok, but 3 qts low, you are risking it. That engine holds 6.5, qts, if I remember correctly.
Depends on how high the RPMs are. If you're driving it like a bat out of hell while one quart low, you can mess up the engine... Especially if you're redlining it.
Waiting for Scotty to tel me if the Hyundai Genesis coupe and Veloster is a good buy. What about the Toyota scarlet and Classic cars and trucks ?

My 22 yr old grandson totaled his grandpa’s 22 yr old Toyota Tundra.. no fixin that. 😟
Literally yesterday, i discovered the sending unit wire on my 03 4Runner was rubbing on the belt. The insulation was burned off but the wire was somehow fine. I cleaned it and then insulated it and repositioned it.... Oil light is gone.... Almost bought the $100 sending unit too. Glad i hesitated.
It kills me when Scotty gets back in the car waits greasy gloves 😂

Tundra is trash. When you think pricing and what this " big truck " offers its a joke. Ford F250 can tow / carry double of what Tundra does.. and they are around same price range. I won't even go to F350 .

If the car has a manual transmission, you must fix everything needed since you will drive it forever. And you will save on gas, too.
My subaru wrx did this oil light came on but it sounded good not problems then I'm going up the freeway and it spun a rod bearing locked up the motor should have just had it towed but it sounded good full oil .idk

Consumers in required emissions states are getting squeezed between sky-high car prices and compliance problems holding on to cars longer with emissions regulations nocking them into a corner. Better move to TN, AR, and a few other states.
just becasue their isn't emissions testing you should still be concerned with it. We all need to do our part to prevent uncessary emissions.

Take it to your local crooked mechanic shop and they can tell you it's low oil pressure because your engine needs rebuilding and then they can rebuild your engine for you😂😂😂
Stick some 5w30 in that high mileage tundra !!!!! My truck leaked oil and had low oil pressure and I switched from 0w20 to 5w30!!! No timing chain rattle no ticking no leaks and no low oil pressure!!!!

He probably did that before this video was posted. That's the problem. I probably wouldn't have shorted the battery out on my new car if they had a video on youtube on how to replace terminal connectors on that specific model year for that vehicle.

I took my 2007 Honda Accord for tires change and alignment and they mentioned the car doesn't come with specification of any alighment to the rear wheels.

Have you considered developing a network of honest, competent and reliable mechanics and garages throughout the USA? That would be invaluable. Moreover, people would pay you a fee or subscription. It could be like Angie's List for automobiles - Scotty's List.
Great idea but he's likely making plenty of money off his CZcams channel and the logistics of creating a network like that probably not worth it to him. Hopefully I'm wrong!

7:58- nice illustration 👍. Hydrogen cars are the way- making hydrogen Can be done in ones garage/basement etc,- it ain't rocket science! The only hard part is staying alive apparently- just ask Stanley Myers(poisoned) or that other guy recently shot conveniently
One of my many uncles that I have, has a son whose truck needed some wiring replacements done because some squirrel managed to get into the engine bay and chew through the wiring in the vehicle. He even sent me a picture, even though I couldn't believe it cause it was too good to be true. Any animal that does that will get the SHOCK of their lifetime.
A $65 part and a $75 tank of GAS! Just like all normal family stuff .....
