We continue our travel around Scotland with a visit to Glencoe, but unfortunately a school boy error causes a bit of damage and ruins some van equipment.
On the brighter side, we show you the sights of Ben Nevis and Glencoe

I wouldn’t worry too much about about your leg damage. My best one is driving off while you’re still plugged in to 240v 🤣🤣👌👍

Gutted for you! We did exactly the same a few years ago, but got away with it 😰 We now have a big sign that we put on the dash - Rear legs are down! The cable car looked fab! Amazing views. You’re giving us Scotland envy. It’s four years since we drove the NC500! Thanks for sharing 🚍☀️

Oh dear! Accidents happen. At least the steadies didn't damage the chassis. Stunning views. And loving watching Dolly and Pippa in the water. Pippa makes me laugh. Love her.

Oh dear young Redders's but don't fret , when I was caravanning I was always ripping steadies off . Now I've got a van I don't even bother with levelling blocks . If it looks semi OK then that will do . Fantastic scenery in this one Redders . We're going to have to have another go at parts of the 500 again . Take care , we're back in the uk on Sunday after a brilliant Normandy tour , take care , love from the old Redders's .xx

You really didn't have much luck on the Scotland trip, I used axle stands on our motorhome as steadies obviously it's more to carry and a bit more faff but much cheaper than fitted steadies but it stops the bounce when walking up and down, Hope your both well
Hi Chris ! It certainly incurred a bit of damage , but we do use it a lot more than average ! The axle stand is a great idea , I’ve still got one steady that works 😂😂

I have a pair of alko steadies that you can have. They have been sitting in our garage for a couple of years. They were taken off my MH after a year when I had hydraulic legs fiited. I live close to Bluewater on the A2 when you're passing.

We stayed at Glencoe, can't remember paying anything for it. Times change. Your van seems to be going into that phase of life where more and more stuff breaks. Maybe you should look into getting a slightly newer version. Great Scotland series, thanks so much. Have a safe trip!

We don't use stabilizers because of that exact reason 😂. Keep trucking, lesson learned ❤

As owners of a 'big long wallowing bus' , 8.7m long tag axle with an island bed, we definitely get bouncy at the back 😂 I just put 2 jacks under the back to stop the wobble 😁

I used to fit tow bars to motorhomes, (now retired ) we used to remove steadies,try contacting companies that fit tow bars they will probably have redundant ones, or remove it should be an easy fix for a welder.

Spectacular. Don’t worry about the steadies. You’ll be fine without. We have a broken spring in our door and Burstner want £650 for a whole new mechanism so trying to source a spring but really struggling. Always something to fix. 😢🚌❤️
Good morning all ! We had a broken door spring and fortunately used one from our van garage door to get it working off the key again… we joined the dethleffs owners club who give out free replacement springs , appreciate it’s a different van, but possibly a generic mechanism.. ❤️❤️

Agree with your comments on the LPG situation. In the whole of UK situation is dire. Keep getting told it's either maintenance on pumps, replacement too expensive or can't get the LPG. I recently got in touch with an LPG bottle provider who says that things are on the up again and shouldn't be a problem to get refills. Why does it cost roughly £1k to get the system and bottles installed and they don't tell you, you can't easily get the gas?! We've just got back from France after 4wks and neigh on every garage is selling LPG (or GPL as they call it). We filled our bottles before coming back. We don't want to use Calor Gas as their cost is extortinate. And believe they are not selling new bottles atm only refills (here in the SE at least). What is going on in the UK?!
Spot on 👍 Europe do have it right with the lpg , cheap too , it certainly is becoming scarce in the uk , and the price just seems to be increasing 😬🙂interesting to hear that things are on the up 🙂

Hi guys, sad to see that but I think you are being told your van is slowly coming to an end ,you need to do some maintenance on your undercarriage as well. Start looking for a new one

It’s due to have an under seal , but the bit that looks rusty is the tow bar , the chassis itself is solid , no advisories on mot , it’s just subject to more than average use and gets a battering 😬 but do keep an eye on upcoming vlogs , we do have a little look at alternatives 👍🙂

We made a schoolboy error with our boat and pulled away whilst plugged in to EHU, learnt an expensive mistake !!

🫣 at least your still able to drive, easy mistake to make. There should be an audible alarm on these things when they are down and when you put ignition key in it should sound a warning. 🫶
