      Thank you , I appreciate that! 🙏 if you have an Xbox (the new versions) it works on them as well, and I heard it runs very smooth, in some cases better then the pc. Hope soon you can fly with us 🤞

    Seems to run great but I have a "flickering" of any cockpit light source on or off, low or high. Imagine light strobing through the prop. Small round ceiling lights simply flicker.

    • @Alberto.Barros
      @Alberto.Barros  Před 2 lety

      I noticed a similar thing with the a32nx recently but only at certain distances from the displays and it was on and off through the flight .... are you experiencing that on all aircraft or specific ones? Do the aircraft your experiencing that on have a 3rd party livery or mod installed?

    Did you notice any dropped game performance on windows 11 vs 10?

    • @Alberto.Barros
      @Alberto.Barros  Před 2 lety +1

      No actually I notice more steady FPS , and better performance overall. MSFS2020 was customized a little for launch of Windows 11 along with some other games but they did a great job. So far no issues with Windows 11 and better more stable performance with MSFS2020, hope that helps

      Can you explain when it's stuttering? While flying, internal/external view.. and are you flying it with pc or Xbox?

    How do you find Windows 11 in conjunction with MSFS?

    • @Alberto.Barros
      @Alberto.Barros  Před 2 lety +1

      What I noticed was the Fps se to be more consistent and slightly better performance overall. Flight sim was one of the games it promoted during the Windows 11 rollout so no issues with Windows 11 so far and slightly better and more stable performance with MSFS2020

    There is a big difference between 100 and 400 and you drop frames because of your GPU.

    • @Alberto.Barros
      @Alberto.Barros  Před 2 lety

      I have been testing it for the last few days, I noticed slightly brighter night lighting from higher altitude and slightly more detail in the distance... but for me I continue to fly at 100 because the gain is not worth the drop in performance. For my GPU, I have a 2070 super, unless I purchased a newer Gen 3000 series I'm not sure how much performance I would gain back at 400. My biggest issue right now is the popping scenery, and I was thinking this terrain detail would help but even at 400, I'm still getting it, it reduces it but again, for me, not enough to justify dropping from 60 fps to 23 fps. I don't believe it's just me but if your having that much of a difference I'd be curious to see how much it improved your experience.

    • @DrumL3000
      @DrumL3000 Před 2 lety +1

      @@Alberto.Barros if you played at 60fps all the time, 23 fps is definitely not a good compromise.
      I play at 4k with a 3090 and all the power goes to that, so im not that CPU bound to beginn with. I only play at 30fps with vsync/gsync and it gives me a really smooth experience if it doesnt drop below that. Whatever settings i use i never fall under 30fps. My cpu doesnt really work at all. At least compared to the FSX. The new MSFS was always more GPU bound than CPU and went even more into GPU with sim update 5. You can also try pushing the render slider up a bit to 110 or 120 and see how much then your gpu compared to your cpu works. you can also try 200 LOD usually even if fps drop a bit, freesync or gsync monitors could help with that if they work at this frequency.
      Pop in scenery can also somotimes be internet/server specific instances but mostly its gpu or vram.
      I never really had any pop in of scenery but i noticed pop in in smaller instances with SU5, now that im at 400 LOD with SU6 there is none again so far. The CPU you have however is fast enough for all settings, because i have nearly the same in terms of power.

      @@DrumL3000 if I was able to get above 30 fps I agree I would be happy with that, 200 for me was giving me over the 30 fps but anything over the 120 seems to introduce lag and stuttering when panning and moving around, and I do have vsync on always. I'm not saying it's super terrible at 200 but location of course plays a part in it as well. If I fly around like bora bora, it's smooth for the most part, heavier scenery like London or New York at 200 you can really see the impact. I'm just going to make an assumption but I'm guessing your 3090 being a better card will handle the load a lot easier, in addition you have a 4k monitor, mine is 25" 1080, so you have a bigger screen relestate plus more pixels per inch which means you will probably notice a difference because your able to support more information on screen with more detail. As for the popping scenery, Microsoft has addressed it on the latest Q&A stating they are aware it exists and it's do to having multiple levels of the same terrain which switch at different distances, the closer you get the more detailed it becomes but this is more to save on resources. They stated that in areas where they have really good data is almost not even noticeable, in areas with lower quality data they use the layered textures to help the visuals but you get more popping of terrain. This happens more in mountain areas and elevations for me (try flying around Mount Everest, I get many there). They only way they said they could fix it is to render those changes in textures at at farther distance so it not at noticeable (the 400 slider does help), or they will try to impose a blending teqnique to not make the change so sudden but they said that won't happen for awhile as it will take time to program that. To be honest I'm happy on the 100 for now, it gives me the best performance and quality balance. Hopefully in the suture with more improvements and updates things will get better and I can move that slider up🙏

      @@Alberto.Barros Yes, i have only 27" Monitor because i want dense pixel count. Only with SU6 they fixed low res scenery so for the first time also scenery like buildings have higher resolution makes bigger difference... i digress.
      I think SU5 and especially SU6 is a good step forward even tho it brought some new smaller bugs. DirectX12 will be another story tho again it wont really serve as performance gain but rather implementing more sliders and further down the line with raytracing performance will be very low if you really want to push to the max. atm im still hoping for more bug fixes rather than new addons tbh.
      I wouldnt count on more performance gains tho, since from the start the stated the sim will grow wither newer hardware. flight simulation was always a game/sim pushing the limits of the hardware. Sure here and there they might optimize something... But im already saving in advance for 4000 series. cheers and happy flying.

      @@DrumL3000 that's a good idea lol, I should start saving myself, I'm sure it won't be cheap. Let's see what happens, once they introduce study level commercial aircraft I'm just hoping the impacts will be minimal, but for now I'm happy. Nice chatting with you, if you ever want to do a group flight feel free to check out my discord (it's linked in my about section or search for "flight sim friends"). best of luck and happy flying! ✈

      I understand that, the updates are for the core sim and sometimes the 3rd party developers like the makers of the Helicopters and sceneries don't update the add-on in time. That why the update causes these types of issues. If you wait a little bit, usually they update the add-ons to correct it but in many cases, you might have to go back to the original location where you downloaded it from and see if there is a new version to download. Ex. Your helicopter might have been Version 1.4 before the update, if you go visit the website where you got it from, today maybe there is a new version 1.5, and that might correct the issue.
      If not there is sometimes the developers email or contact information there and you can message them directly to explain the issue. I have done that before for some of mine. That might help

    As the game is miraculously on sale I'm ready to invest, but what in God's name is going on that I need an install guide for a steam purchase. Every steam game I buy, I select what hard drive it goes on, and that's it. They even update automatically and that's it done.

      @@nickzila4641 well, great news for me. It was suggested I get the game on Xbox Game Pass, which is €1 for your first month. I immediately cancelled the subscription and the download took 15 hours with no hiccups thankfully. I have it running close to 55FPS in the countryside on my modest system. Hopefully it doesn't poop itself when I try VR later.
      But yes, for anyone having doubts, Xbox Game Pass for €1, 1 month of access to the game, can't go wrong.

      Yeah, for some reason Microsoft / Asobo have not really figured out how to do proper updates / installations yet. They don’t even get it 100% correct on their own XBOX. They also leave a lot of simple-to-fix items broken, despite those items being constantly reported as broken. I find I have to rely more and more on 3rd party add-ons to get a good simulator experience. They nailed the world scenery, but that’s about it. If it were not such a beautifully “world simulator” I probably would have dropped it at world update 5.
