Walking Around Tokyo (Akabane) 赤羽

Akabane is a thriving downtown area at the northernmost tip of Tokyo. At the east exit of Akabane Station, old-fashioned alleys and shopping streets stand side by side, where drunk old men are talking in the middle of the day and lively mothers are chatting away. There are also bars and cafes that are popular with women.
