    🥳perfect Christmas gift! The book has been ordered, although I am a fan of reading on a tablet and I am also waiting for the PDF version. Dear Mike, Happy New Year and Merry Christmas. 🎄☃

      I'm working on reformatting for an ebook version. That should be available soon, hopefully within a week(ish).

    Thanks for writing this Mike! Will a downloadable PDF version be released anytime soon? I would like to download and annotate as I read along. If so, where would it be hosted?

      I'm also wondering about this question. When a downloadable PDF version will be released?

    Hey Mike, congratulations! I think in 2024 you should release another comprehensive calculus book that covers both differential and integral calculus instead of just a calculus 2 course. I believe learning math through reading books provides a more solid understanding

    • @mikexcohen1
      @mikexcohen1  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Thanks for the recommendation :) It's on my list, although it certainly wouldn't happen in 2024 -- this stats book was 14 months of full-time work...
      Although I will make a calc 2/3 Udemy course in 2024. Hopefully that will be available in the spring or summer.

    Return of the god! I have a question. Is this course/book similar to the udemy courses "master statistics&machine learning"? I really learned a lot from your linear algebra course and I want to start study machine learning. Which one would you recommend for a complete newbie like me with no background of stats/ML?

    Congratulations Mike on the release of your new book! Ordered from Amazon and was just delivered.
    I also purchased (but have not yet started) your Udemy course of the same.
    I would like to (re)learn statistics (for Machine Learning) by using these two resources together at the same time. Any suggestions?
    Leafing thru the book, I really appreciate the emphasis on exercises, and you taking time to provide the solutions on yt. Many thanks.

      Awesome, thank you! You can look through the other comments here (and my replies) for a discussion of the differences between the book and the course, but briefly: They're similar but not overlapping. You wouldn't need to do both, but you can because they're non-redundant.

    Hello Mike, Merry Christmas! I've recently got the Kindle version on kindle unlimited, but unfortunately, many of the figures and pictures have been printed incomplete :((( Is the epub version going to be revised soon ?

    • @mikexcohen1
      @mikexcohen1  Před 6 měsíci

      Sorry about that. Kindle is really only made for pure text. Formatting books with equations and figures is notoriously difficult, and almost every math ebook gets low ratings for exactly this reason. I have formatted the ebook to work on the kindle app on a tablet, but it's neither feasible nor possible (i.e., amazon doesn't allow it) to reformat the book for each possible device and size.
      The best I can offer is to follow along the book with the code so that you can make the figures on your own screen.

    awesome and congratulations ! and thank you for making the book so inexpensive -- so tired of university books costing $120 and more -- its difficult to even get a used version for less than $50 -- and here you are putting out the book for $35 and the code and the video explanations for free -- thank you for all your hard work

    • @mikexcohen1
      @mikexcohen1  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Thanks! This book is self-published, so I get to decide the price (and everything else). This price is about as low as I can go, considering the publication costs, amazon's cut, and a bit to help me buy coffee ;)

    Congratulations, Mike.
    I'd like to know how this published statistics book relates to your Master statistics & machine learning course on Udemy.

    • @mikexcohen1
      @mikexcohen1  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Good question. The course was the inspiration for the book, but they ended up diverging the more I worked on the book. Lots of similar topics, but there's also material in the book not in the course, and vice-versa.
      If you've gone through my course, then I think the only reason why you might want the book is for the 150+ exercises, most of which are not in the course (a few are). So if you like working through hands-on exercises, consider also getting the book. If you would only get the book for the explanations of statistics concepts, then you might find the book to be only slightly different from the course.
