DEFUND NPR
NPR is about as balanced as MSNBC. Stopped listening years ago.
NPR = Nothing but Progressive Rhetoric
Don't forget the NPR CEO didn't show up at this hearing.
It’s a Spook whose power cannot be checked
Defund NPR and PBS!
And VOA...
No more funding for them. Period
They can be biased, just not on the public's dime.
No, don't fall for that, they should not be biased, unless they declare their bias, change their name, be truthful and have no public funding. They should NOT be allowed to deceive.
Perfect
is being pro USA being biased?
No way@@Khahlesstheyoutubeguy
The government shouldn’t give a single penny to any news agency EVER.
As a taxpayer, I'm not averse to public funding for a news agency, but it should be stipulated that said agency be somewhat balanced in its coverage...
I listened to NPR for 20 years until George Floyd when they went 'all victims, all the time'.I used to even give money during the pledge drives. No more. I stopped listening several years ago.
He's so right. I used to listen every day. Now I can't even stand a minute of it.
This is like CNN only publicly funded by tax dollars. What a the embarrassment rate❤❤❤
Perfect
Not sure CNN is not CIA funded.
Npr has got to go. No more tax dollars.
Their new ceo is a joke. All over the place talking about how the truth is just a distraction and how the 1st amendment is terrible for her bs views.
Npr should be getting Zero tax dollars. This is Not because of any political bent at all but simply because it is not a proper role of our government to be supporting it at any level of funding whatsoever. That said, I will recall a time when PBS, also publicly funded, gave us some very objective, straight and intelligent news reporting, back in the day, with the likes of The McNeil/Lehrer Report.
Defund NPR
NPR is literally state media that only covers one side of the aisle.
I listen to NPR…. And it does not serve my views at all. I’m not for paying one dime to them of tax money.
You think NPR is bad, listen to MN Public Radio! It's a liberal word salad, one after another. It's so bad that I couldn't even listen to it back when I was voting blue and considered myself a liberal.
I used to listen to and support MPR when Katherine Lanpher was on, but that was ages ago and I’d never listen to it now, it’s far too biased.
I would rather listen to wall paper drying
I used to listen to NPR when i was in college in 2004 , but now when i turn it on ... mmm it doesn't feel the same and i can't listen to it anymore , it's not balanced at all
Not 1 penny more....
STATE FINANCED, Media and you expected what from it people?😮
This has been the works for 20yrs minimum. From 1980 to 2002 all i listened to was NPR in the car. Somewhere around 2003 or so they took a gigantic turn to the left, nothing but left-wing commentary and consternation. It became so stupid and unhinged I had to finally stop listening as it was making my morning commute stressful. I just chalked it up to yet another institution bought by liberal elites.
Media that used to be neutral or just slightly left of center really reacted to the creation of FoxNews in 1996 and went to the extreme left. NPR does interview quite often a GOP congressman or GOP official for 5 min between 5 and 5:30 AM (MT) but that is about it.

Seems strange to say this now, but as i recall, the left had a serious problem with our response to 9/11. Their position back then was we should not get involved in a war and we were not the world police and NPR made this more than clear. Juxtapose that with today's liberal push to finance wars across the globe and American politics seems to have turned on it's head. I haven't listened to NPR in over 20yrs. but I'll bet they are singing a different tune today. After all, a Democrat is in power.
"NPR 'So Clearly Does Not Want To Reflect The Diverse Views Of All Americans'"In other breaking news Fire is Hot an water is Very moist.
Car Talk & PHC were the only programs worth listening to back in the day!
NPR should be defunded yesterday 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
I used to tune in sometimes in 2018, and by this point I never do. I was much more liberal in 2018 and I loved that we were subsidizing public radio and they had segments that were not just news but had popular culture elements... But then over the years I started to realize all their pop culture elements were lesbian indie artists and African American small businesses and authors calling to defund the military because of social justice issues. I stopped listening because it wasn't even just that their take on the news is biased, but that every single person they promote is a picture-perfect progressive. And you can have people come on and criticize the government, sure, absolutely, that should be a thing we are able to do and at times if necessary, encourage people to do - have segments about how to write a letter to your congressmen, and have that message play after every news segment, something broad and instructional like government funded radio is supposed to be? But it's gotten out of hand. If you want to represent diversity, equity, and inclusion, you have to have a quota for Republican representation in all branches now. Not just Asian-Americans, African Americans, LGB Americans, Trans Americans, and protesters. You must include a number of Republicans reflecting the percentage of Americans to stay relevant, honest, and unbiased.
NPR has become Babylon Bee's competitor, but only one of them is satire on purpose.
Defund now along with PBS!!!
NPR got pissed when Mitt said he would cut funding if elected.
Bias
Tried to listen one day and a black woman claimed that only white women could be a "Karen".
Still subsidized after all these years.
This witness nailed it!
How do they get federal funding?
Take away nprs tax status too when you defund them..also tax any foreign revenue to the new private npr at 90%
NPR went completely off the rails after Diane Rehm retired.
For years I thoroughly enjoyed NPR. I almost never listen now as they are completely predictable.
I've been listening to these people for a lot of years I know every one of them
It’s brave of you to admit your problem.
Help is available.
You can change.
Never give up trying to free yourself.
I wish people would learn to read aloud before they do it in public.
Defund the npr
There you go
She needs reading lessons .
The guy Copped to it , meaning admitted to it , not coped .
Yeah that was cringy.
Let them compete in the market.
Cut their funding..........
Defund Congress along with defunding NPR.
Theyre literally old weather underground members!
Govt should never be permitted to fund media. Never.
NO MONEY FROM GOVERNMENT!!!
Stop using any tax money to fund propaganda against the people who provide that tax money.
A fun game is to try to go a minute listening to npr without them mentioning race or gender.
My wifes boyfriend beats me if he catches me listening to NPR.
The bias is obvious. I once listened to a NPR report and decided to count the number of times they referred to Trump in a negative way. I gave up around 113.
Neither does Forbes
NPR used to have few DJs who were able to put together decent sets off quality music. At least sometimes. they don’t even have that anymore. It’s as bad as the rest of it.
I never belong to any political party, so I enjoy listening to all different points of view, but NPR is useless
If it was only one percent, why take it at all then?
Im a republican and ive been listed to NPR for 13 years. Also Alex Jones
And do you feel inspired to support tax dollar funding?
DAMN. I am pretty sure that I could read that (without knowing what I was reading) a whole lot better than this woman. And to think she was trying to introduce some kind of statement. Did she even read it before the hearing or simply was handed the copy by her staff and blew it? Isn't she from the state of Washington?
I have been saying this for years. if the govt. is going to fund a liberal voice, there must be equal funds to voice a conservative voice.
My liberal friends disagree, which gives more credence to my opinion.
My radio is pegged on NPR. Rest of others r rubbish.
I donate every year...1 wooden nickel.
More rightly NGR, National Government Radio, the Woke Station.
But no one complaining about the government funding for left leaning VOA?
Stop accepting the intolerance of NPR.
NPR PPH all speak out against Their political Opponents
SO--
WHY is the CHURCH silent when it comes to calling out evil democrats from the Pulpit???
I don't mind a liberal (or conservative) bias, but I do very much mind when this leads to broadcasting misinformation, and worse, to a reluctance to correct it.
I have spent a lot of time over the last thirty years making myself well informed about genetic engineering in agriculture. I can give many examples of NPR misinforming its listeners. I'll give just two examples from a much longer list.
The first example may just barely survive the test of being only bias, not falsehood. There was a story about a US state that had tried to pass a law to protect people who invade a farm field to tear out GMO crops from legal liability for damage, etc. Let's assume that such a state exists so that the statement is true. But when this was broadcast, there had already been laws actually passed in something like a dozen states, which laws made it very clear that such actions WERE criminal. This fact being omitted from the NPR story very clearly gave listeners the wrong idea.
My second example is unambiguously clear. Around 2006, the World Trade Organization was considering a case brought by the United States against the European Union, about two years before, which had imposed a moratorium on its own regulatory agencies against approving any new genetically modified crops, even if that regulatory body had found no scientific evidence that the GMO crop could cause a problem. The WTO issued its ruling, that the EU was violating WTO rules by that moratorium. NPR carried this story, with a byline to a named reporter, saying the the WTO had ruled that the EU was not allowed to label food as containing GMO ingredients. That was completely false.
I contacted the local NPR station (in Boston) to explain that the story was wrong, and providing a copy of the WTO decision. It was six hundred pages long, but it included a short executive summary which made it instantly clear that the NPR story was wrong. The gentleman I spoke to said that there was nothing they could do because the program they had broadcast came from an affiliated news source, Marketplace. I suggested that they could still broadcast a correction. They were not willing to do that. So I asked how we could contact Marketplace, and I got the name of its news manager.
So I called him and explained the error, but he said that he trusted his reporter. Since I knew the name of the reporter, I could easily find out where she lived, Cambridge Massachusetts, a local call for me. So I called her. She insisted that she had not written anything like that. She clearly knew that it was wrong, and she had submitted a story to that station about the WTO decision. But the broadcast I had heard was still available on the web, and I suggested that she listen to it. She did. She then called me back and said that she would email me a printed copy of the story she had written. And she was correct. The story she had written was 100% accurate and contained no such false claim about the WTO banning GMO labels. Someone at Marketplace had changed the story, leaving her byline intact.
I asked the reporter if she would contact the Marketplace news manager to make a complaint about this. She said to me that she did not want to do that because she didn't want to damage her professional relationship with the news manager.
Why would NPR not Want To Reflect The Diverse Views Of All Americans?
Are you implying that I'm one-sided political party because ma'am I am completely non-biased
Wazzup 😮
Trump would gladly defund both NPR and PBS.
These harrings are ridiculous take their funding away this is b*******
I love the classical music! I disagree with your persuasive rhetoric. I would love to hear unbiased reporting I would love to hear what both sides are pushing. I would love to see an end to the divisiveness.
This is a sad situation. NPR had some good shows. However, every time you listen now it’s all Trump, Trump, Trump.
Cut the funding..... Let the chips fall where whey will.
No excuse for ignorance of the law there you go you're admitting the influential process
Specifically always seems to Target a man everytime
Zeros are planes in Japan
Have you listened they is one-sided as hell
FCC has rules already
Yes, there should have been 2 or 3 Republicans so Democrats could object to the validity of this story even more. 🤣
You think you're calling somebody Japan or
The simple comments from a man being right she's going to irritate her you ever seen the movie Matilda
Now it just seems It's about the both of you
Stop funding public art as well
Especially rainbow crosswalks.
I listen to NPR not for their liberal viewpoint though.
Devoid of facts, for sure.
Cute
I listened to them years ago and they were far less political.
No more...
I haven't listen to the political junk they put out for years.
They simply made it too obvious that they were not diverse in their thinking.
NPR is intolerant when it comes to diversity of thought.
It’s absolutely insane that in today’s digital information world that my tax dollars are being spent on some little propaganda outlet. #DefundNPR
NPR is Raskins God, I imagine he prays to it every night. And he prays for a better toupee too. 🤣
This is second grade level reading
Defund NPR.
NPR is Trash
National Propaganda Radio (NPR)
I guess npr needs more conspiracy theories and less fact checking.
