Henry Cavill just making Geralt noises is the best acting in the show.

It's because the series actually kind of suck. The battles have been god-awful, the characters void and the story either a filling with no outcome for future development or ridiculously over-acted scenes with characters doing the exact opposite of their nature portrayed so far... The only thing keeping the series at the "above average" level is Henry Cavill and his fighting scenes

Because Dandelion is so focussed on himself that he doesn't notice or register most of what is going on around him unless he stands to benefit.

Hissrich admits that when she first wrote the Roach death scene, her instinct was to puncture the moment with a bit of meta-comedy. Henry Cavill pushed for a more heartfelt moment, and eventually Hissrich caved - which she says was ultimately the right call.
“Henry was so unhappy with the line,” she recalls. “Finally I said, ‘You know what, you come up with something. I trust you, you know this material so well, you know the book so well, you don’t even have to pitch it to me.’ And he came back the next day with a beautiful speech that’s at the end of Sword of Destiny when Geralt is facing death and it’s such a pitch perfect moment.”

I haven't watched the show but I did listen to the songs and they're *amazing* (btw if you like jaskier's songs i recommend checking out The Amazing Devil, it's joey batey's band and their songs are *incredible*)
can someone explain to me where the Character building was supposed to be in season 2? It felt like Ciri was in Caer Morhen for a week or so, lerned magic with Yen for half a day and maybe spoke with Triss about magic once. In the books she actually spent some time learning, would be nice to keep that part if they decided to change so much of the other stuff...
What did they change ?
The character building is hidden...in the books. Along with all logic, nuance and good storytelling!
the books were obviously more in depth. Ig they had to cut the character development short for the sake of the plot

The second season felt like a divorced couple that chose to raise their daughter together for the sake the world.
And then got back together in the process.. Common Hollywood trope.

Dude. Ciri is literally the opposite of a "hope to bring peace between elves and men". The show makes a pretty explicit point about this. Just learning a little about what she's actually for almost broke Triss's brain.

She can be either. It's her choice.
@@PredatorH2O It becomes her choice, but that happens later. The Netflix series really leans on how we're all captive to our destiny and you just make things worse when you try to fight it. I assume the show-runners set up that narrative to really emphasize how crazy it is when Ciri does eventually re-write her own destiny. But we're not supposed to know that she can do that. It takes a while and it involves unicorns.

Ok. So no one's able to recollect anything from Season 1? I thought it was just me and my attention span of a squirrel.
I started season two and had no idea what was going on or who anyone was, so I had to jump back to season one.
Luckily I watched the season 1 recap before watching season 2.
That one slowmo scene where Geralt knocked someone's teeth off was weird. I don't remember them using that effect and they just dropped it out of nowhere lmao
