Hi, Rachelle! I’ve been following your content for quite some time now. I have plan in studying in one of the schools in Vancouver, which located in downtown. However, despite the impressive opportunity from this school, it bothers me because of the increasing number of crimes influenced by drugs in Vancouver. I saw some news of random attacks and an increasing number of homeless near downtown. Can you help us balance this with your transparency living in Vancouver, especially for those students who will be living alone? Appreciate your help! Thanks!
That has been a growing concern for locals and foreigners looking to live in Vancouver 🙁 usually, the more densely populated areas also have a high number of homelessness. East Hastings is one particular area that you’ll see a lot of this, and it is just a few blocks away from the downtown core.
I would say it is still generally safe to live in the Metro Vancouver area, but there are neighbourhoods that people would generally avoid :(
