It really is stupid as hell that new gen consoles still can’t have complete backwards compatibility. I’d love to play my ps3 games on ps5
That shit will never happen sony is to stupid
'Cause it would end up that PS5 would cost much💸🤑
Sony seems to thinks PS now is good enough, sadly. I can never stream any game from my PC to my phone, or from console to PC or phone nowhere near perfectly, or as good as the console or PC play those games locally, and I have a really fast and stable internet connection.
There's still a small chance it is. They haven't said official no to the older gen yet.
Cameron McBride Nah they said a good amount of ps4 games will be playable but nothing about ps3
This video was a godsend of games recommendation to me cause I literally just bought a PS3 slim today
Get Folklore!!!! Now!!!! Go buy it immediately!!!!
I have almost all the game he mentioned and I agree with his mini reviews. 3D Dot Game Heroes, Nino Kuni and Puppetteer are great.
I Love the Twisted Metal he shows in vid. And Warhawk was cool but kinda online battle only
Have fun! It’s a fantastic console!
Enjoy!
When the ps3 came out, the graphics blew me away, but when the ps4 came out, i was like "meh”
I feel like PS3 was the last great generation.
@@jakehunter3434 nothing will be better than PS3
That's because of how good the PS3's graphics have been it meant that the PS4 while better wasn't THAT much better because the PS3 was so good.
Imagine how you and I would feel now about the ps4 pro and upgrading to ps5. Its literally the same shit to me
@@jponz85 Yeah, I am not all that impressed with the PS5 Graphics to be honest.
Tomb Raider (2013) never gets any love on these lists. I was my favorite PS3 game.
I just got a PS3! The timing couldn’t have been more perfect
I loved the new twisted metal- but they did lose me when it came to the story- the originals each character had a story- they focused on grim, sweet tooth and doll face- it would have been nice to see the weird stories for each of the characters
Great great console. Dragons dogma...dark souls....uncharted....metal gear solid 4....metal gear revengance...spec ops: the line....beyonetta. just s few amazing games I loved
Not really because you missed out on the whole generation.
@@honkingantalope He never said he missed the whole generation, for all you know he might have played 90% of the games that are on PS3 on PC or 360.
Bish186 the fact that you wrote dragons dogma first makes you a great person:)
Also i’ve been playing rdr1 because I wanted to play it before buying rdr2
Who else remembers playing Motor Storm at the Walmart kiosk while our parents shopped.. best babysitter EVER!!
Lmao i miss those kiosks
For me it was target
Was circuit city where I spent my lunches at for quite a while
I remember playing Megaman X8 at a Walmart.
there won't be any kiosk for ps5 or xbox one x during this coronavirus. i will tell u that much for sure
Always love rewatching these collection videos.
Hope everyone else here's doing well, much love 🙏
I just bought a PS3 2 weeks ago! So thanks a bunch for this amazing collection of games with explanations ,man ! It'll help me pick somme new ones (once i finished hanging around in GTA IV, GTA V, Max Payne 3, Far Cry 3, and Gran Turismo 5 - just to name some of my all time favorites! 😄
So thanks a lot ! 👍
And keep playing folks!
Congrats man, the PS3 is amazing. So many great series on it. Killzone, Resistance, MotorStorm, Imfamous, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, and of course it has the last of us. But for what makes the PS3 truly awesome is that it’s basically a GOW machine. HD remakes collections of the GOW 1&2 and the PSP games and of course the Greatest GOW game of all time... GOW 3, and if you need even more GOW action, you still have ascension as well.
Try Singularity (Most underrated game on the console in my opinion, Metro Last Light, F.E.A.R (One of the best shooters ever The first FEAR) Inversion is also good
Don't know if your still playing your PS3 but if you are get uncharted series, the last of us and beyond two souls and heavy rain I think you may like god of war 3 as well max Payne 3 is just amazing I hope you've completed that
Great purchase! I doubt you'll ever regret it
A half hour Metal Jesus video? DONT MIND IF I DO!!! Thanks man. I hope you're well
All good. Thanks for watching! 😍
Thrilled to see that also
Max Payne 3 is HEAVILY overlooked. Fantastic writing, characters, and story. If you enjoyed the Brazilian films “City of God,” and “Elite Squad” you’ll feel right at home.
It’s a fantastic game, good timing here because I’m currently replaying it on the PC. It still holds up. Personally I’m a fan of the video effects and presentation, I’d guess they probably saved hundreds of hours development time by doing it this way since there’s so much story and so many cutscenes as it is.
I’d say it’s more inspired by Tony Scott’s Man on Fire
One of my favorite games of last gen.
Great game, but it'd be nice if you could skip the cutscenes if you just feel like playing.
Something about the aiming or maybe the framerate just didnt work well imo
Covid isn’t so bad with metal Jesus to watch. Thanks for helping me get back into the collecting. I love your stuff man!!
I'm glad to see people still talking about the ps3😍
"It was almost like they were trying to go for something realistic..." *footage of snowboard grinding down power lines plays*
It makes no sense. I know... 😂
Well they were lol. At least landscape-wise. The previous SSX games had very arcade-like levels. The pinball level from SSX Tricky is one of my all-time favorite levels in any racing game.
lol. I thought the same thing.
@@johnpaddock9462 Specially when you compare with the On Tour style, that game has so many street vibes with graphity art and stuff like that. SSX on PS360 is just boring to look at.
@@benny7706 , and just what do you play for video games, Fortnite?
Ratchet & Clank on PS3 is awesome especially "Crack in Time"
I never played R&C on PS3, but I have the Trilogy on Vita. It's great!
I like the ps2 ones better
Crack in Time was the best in the series
My favorite will always be UYA but ACiT definitely had a lot of amazing gameplay additions, I'm hoping rift apart can top both of them and be the next incredible game in the series.
"Timesplitters trilogy HD remaster"
Thanks, now I have another game that doesn't exist on my imaginary wishlist that's probably never gonna happen.
Hi Jason I am a big fan of your channel and the MJR crew my favorite content being the content you make with Reggie you guys have a great chemistry and the video you do together really make my day I was wondering if he will still be a part of your channel and the MJR crew regardless of twitter nonsense and differences in opinions I feel its a bit unfair to those of us who have been fans of the channel and crew for years to in no way be in the loop regarding the future of the channel
A Crack in Time is easily my favorite Ratchet and Clank game. 60fps, gorgeous visuals, amazing puzzles, my favorite weapon list, and great bonus content
And probably one of the best stories in the entire franchise. If they never made All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault, and put that time and money into Into the Nexus, that game would easily be in my top 3 of the franchise. But the Future series is still quality PS3 goodness. And if Rift Apart abandons the Remake on the PS4 and goes back to the original timeline, I'd buy a PS5 day one.
@@RohanSpartin the remake was just a retelling of the frist game its not a reboot or new timeline so im confused by your closing statement
@@RohanSpartin The only reason those spin offs were made was because Sony wanted the RaC IP is keep going but considering it's hard to keep making great sequels especially 7 games in with the same formula it was easier to experiment with different gameplay and honestly both A4O and FFA had really good multiplayer aspects but single player wise were kinda meh. Also Rift Apart is definitely not in the reboot timeline as that wouldn't make any logical sense, PS4 was a movie tie in game nothing more.
@@TerrorOfTalos there is no reboot timeline becasue ratchet an clank on the ps4 was not a reboot it was a remake/retelling of the same story
Crack in Time is my fav in the series
The orange box by Valve is a must own completion for the PS3/360
I really wish I’d snagged it on ebay. I might just do that if i find an affordable copy lol
Facts
Backwards compatibility on xbox one... was fun playing through Half Life 2 in 4K
Xbox ver was the best.
@@lethalassassin1754 Unless you are going for a brand new copy secondhand prices are really reasonable on eBay.
Great stuff, MJR! Love the multipack game collections available that gen, and you showcased a lot of them. Awesome stuff 🤟
Hey metal jesus i love how positive and lighthearted and passionate your voice sounds, it cheers me up
12:50 saying SSX 2012 was going for something "realistic" and he flips his board around 10 times and grinds on a helicopter mid air lol
Exactly what i was thinking
That's when you know that Metal Jesus hasn't even pkayed some of the games he's talking about. This is not realistic at all LOL.
@@youericjam no no he definitely has. And i was mostly joking SSX 2012 was titled "deadly descents" and was very much going for a more real and gritty version of SSX
Slight correction: the Metal Gear Solid Collection does not include MGS1 on-disc - it's a download code for the PSOne Classic version.
i hate that because i bought the collection used at gamestop about a year ago, and i COULDN'T DOWNLOAD IT CUZ THE CODE WAS USED! :(
@@staypuff6494 Yeah man. Wasn't trying to be "that guy" but just wanted to let those seeking it out know because I was one of them.
@@SlyBeast yeah man it sucks when that happens
Well, the GameCube version is better anyway
@@EpicEmberOriginal I think I'd agree. It's criminal that it hasn't had an HD remaster.
Now this is the type of youtube channel that i'm looking for!,i'm new here and i love your content so far :3
Fun fact. Everyone thinks the PS3 ended with The Last of Us but the last PS3 game was actually Ratchet and Clank Into The Nexus.
The Mass Effect compilation on PS3 is the only way to get a physical copy of the first one on this system.
Too bad the one DLC couldn't be done on the PS3 for ME1.
I still choose the PS3 version over the Xbox version for ME1. This is mainly due to the hacking button prompt mini games. The xbox version keeps getting framerate dips during the minigame which almost always fail and lockout the hack console.
The PS3 version, I have no framerate issue and far far less reloads from save scumming before hacking.
Rumors of another remastered collection for PS4
Again, just a rumor
Yeah was originally on the 360
@mazrimalthor Marcel said the only way to get the game physically was to buy the collection.
@mazrimalthor
That’s not true. Then you have an illegal copy. It’s a fact that, OFFICIALLY, ME1 was not released individually for the PS3.
SOCOM 1 and 2 were so much fun. Had lots of fun playing online.
I enjoyed the other 2 games as well. Here's hoping they bring the IP back to the PlayStation 5.
Great video! Just a heads up, I went back into my Far Cry collection for a quick double check- turns out the 360 compilation has Blood Dragon on a separate disc in the case as a physical copy. 👍
Whenever I want to add games to my collection I always watch one of your videos especially the hidden gem one's. Been waiting for a ps3 video for a while. Thanks for the upload.
Driver San Francisco is a hidden gem of driving games on PS3, my favorite in the Driver series for sure. Wish UBIsoft could have made a sequel.
That is a great game, they never should have tried to be GTA with the previous 2.
Agreed Vivisect, Driv3r was awful and when I saw Parallel Lines was also a shooter I didn’t even bother. Driver San Francisco was such a good mixture of action and storyline. A fantastic game even if you don’t care for racing games that much.
PS3 is still cool and relevant :)
Not sure if I would call it that relevant nowadays, but the library was great!
@Mr. Firestone * in my opionen yeah
Mine runs hot, but it's cool.
Especially if modded. Now it gets really interesting.
I agree I like that gamestop still sells them
I have 429 games in my collection (all boxes, from PSX to PS5 and Switch to Series X) and every game is connected with a special and unique memory from my life :) I just love it!
I actually just started collecting PS3 games recently, this was very helpful! Thank you!
I liked "Remember Me". I started when it came out in PS+ and finish this year 2020, I think it took like 6 years to finish campaign haha
I too got it with ps+ at the time and completed it directly. The artstyle and futuristic Paris just grabbed me. Still to this day i look fondly back to it.
@Witch Bitch? weel i do like sight seeing in games :p I am facinated by worldbuilding. I must confess that i don't remember the story that well. But i can love games that do one thing very well in there design. I would like a remake/directorscut.
That good huh? Lol
I picked up Remember Me for PS3 after I bought my PS4 at launch. I remember it being beautiful, visually. But I have the same experience...I don't really remember the story, but I remember wanting a sequel!
Warhawk is probably my all-time favorite multiplayer shooter. The ground battles and flying were switched back and forth seamlessly. So fun to play.
100% man! I loved it
Awesome collection dude! I was looking for more ps3 hidden gems & stuff, & i found them in your video!
This is quality content!
Time crisis series are my all time favourites. I can never get bored playing those gems. This game has the thrill and adventure that I need.
my ps3 collection is quite extensive -- the only "rare" game i need now is el shaddai. i literally NEVER see it being sold locally but will keep hunting until i find it as i refuse to pay the ebay asking prices. in case anyone is looking for shadows of the damned, lollipop chainsaw, killer is dead or asura's wrath, you can pick up the japanese import FAR cheaper than the western releases and they all contain full english option! i saved a bundle going this route and do not regret it. you also get the amazing japanese cover art as a bonus.
Asuras Wrath also had an incredible collectors edition in Japan. One of my favorites
Good to know, thanks for this! 👍
Heavenly Sword is a must-have on the PS3. It is still, to this day, one of the best looking games ever made
Its worth checking out but not a keeper imo. Same w lair. Except laid wasn’t finished really.
@@jonnyfive5000 of course it's a keeper
I beg to differ. I recently picked it up and I my impression is that the combat is yanky and monotonous, the graphics really look like an early ps3 title. I would not recommend.
I agree!
I couldn't disagree more. I played it again recently and it's aged horribly. The dialog is either super serious or goofy and the controls are poor.
Final Fantasy XIII is incredibly underrated during a time of open (empty) world obsession. If you play it in Japanese with English subs, it is a masterpiece.
Personally I was a huge fan of Remember Me for what it represented. It's sci-fi notes were what made it unique. Also, Resistance was a killer game.
I'm pretty new to your channel and I love it. I've gone back and watched a lot of your old stuff and you're very entertaining to watch.
Awesome, thank you!
MetalJesusRocks I wish you get to 1 Million fast 🌹❤️🔥
Awesome video! The PS3 generation was probably my gaming prime. I played and enjoyed the heck out of so many of these amazing titles. I was in middle and high school then with endless free time on my hands, and gaming was my favorite hobby.
Impressive that you have all of these. I have most of these downloaded on a CFW PS3 slim with external HDD's but you can't beat having the physical games for sure!
11:46 "I want to give a shout out to star wars the force unleashed" I love you. Amazing game. Great HD game for consoles to.

He has that in his Xbox 360 collection.
One of my favorite games of all time. I have an open copy, and a sealed copy I keep on display in my collection.
Remember me is absolutely incredible!! One of my favourite ps3 games ever. The first time I played it I didnt like the combo system, went back a year or so later and really 'got it' that time round. So so good
This video is f’ing awesome! Found a little shop/store with all their PS3 games for £2 each and a lot of these are there. Thanks for the video mr metal Jesus
I love the PS3 era, so many exclusives and remasters from the PS2!
The Saboteur is an absolute hidden gem! It's to this day one of my fav. open world games. If I remember right this was the studio's last game and they had to shut down after that.

Awesome! Thank you!
Absolutely
Thank you so much, I was really expecting this collection from you.
Awesome Video Man! Some of these games really take me back. I used to have my PS3 hooked up to a HD projector in my room on 125 inch screen. My favourites were. Mortal Kombat 9. Wipeout in stereoscopic 3D. Modern warfare 3. Limbo. And motorstorm Pacific rift in 3D... Keep up the Great work Man! Oh.. (edited comment alert) .. guitar hero 3. World tour. And guitar hero Metallica.
I Played Remember
Me about 3 yrs ago and loved it! Especially the futuristic, cyberpunk-ish setting.. just recently picked it up on the Xbox 360 for a replay through 👍
Am surprised the stereoscopic 3D feature for a lot of those games didn’t come up as it was an optional feature, awesome content as always👍🏻
Demon's Souls, Dante's Inferno and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Andy Serkis and the guy who wrote 28 Days Later worked on it.
Enslaved was so good. Really surprised me
MetalJesus has talked about his dislike of FromSoftware games, he's a pretty casual player and doesnt like difficulty.
@@StabStabStabStabby bummer, the barrier to entry is a little high but I think if he got them to click they'd be in his favorites of all time
@@StabStabStabStabby "dislike" is a bit misleading though. While he never played a FS game because they are pretty challenging, he still appreciates them and thinks FS is an amazing developer. And that's awesome.
Shadow of the dammened was a great hidden gem. The graphic art style really drew you in and the story was way over the top.
21:23 Happy to see some love for the truly excellent Driver: San Francisco.
The Saboteur was a masterpiece, very different feel and style. Also the main protagonist Sean Devlin as an Irish, Wise Cracking Badass was perfect! Very underappreciated!
Ratchet and Clank lost its edge when they went from Teen to Everyone.
Makes me so sad, but its so true
The Ratchet and Clank Future series is more mature than the PS2 games honestly.
"rated E for irrelevant"
I completely disagree, the Ratchet games on ps3 were a ton of fun even if it was made towards kids. Definitely recommend the future series to any fan.
Yes this is tru I liked playing the ps2ones
Great list man, Just looking at the games brings me back. Tons of great memories and a few i forgot i never finished haha
I have been playing Remeber Me, and I love it so far. It plays similar to the Arkham games in terms of combat with more attention to combos. The platforming is also cool with lots of puzzle solving. Also great graphics!
I just got that one for my 5-year-old daughter. She's a super gamer
Definitely recommend adding the Batman titles for PS3. Absolutely amazing and dirt cheap you can get the whole set for under $10 😊
I remember playing Batman: Arkham Asylum on X360 and loving that game! Rocksteady Studios created some classic Batman games during that time!
Just in time for rocksteady suicide squad annoucement.

The amount of hours I sank into Arkham City.... Easily one of my top 5 games of all time. Great recommendation man 👋👌
